  It's cause he already beat Fabi and Nepo in world championship matches and has a classical record against Hikaru of 14 wins, 1 loss and 26 draws. There's no debate he's better. However a new up and coming 17 year old who will likely hit 2800 rating soon and is the youngest candidates winner ever, if he became world champ then there would be a convo of if Carlsen is still the best in the world and there'd be more pressure on him to return to the candidates/world championship picture
