Hello everyone and welcome to my channel. I carry out pest control on local permissions to help keep the local vermin population down for the farmers. My video's contain the control of such vermin, rabbits, pigeons, crows and foxes with licensed firearms to which some viewers may find disturbing, so please do not watch if you are easily offended and do not like pest control. To everyone else thankyou for watching, commenting and subscribing. I appreciate it. If you like my channel please share with your friends. Happy shooting and stay safe.

Thankyou 👍
Good review, I bought one about 6 months ago and day or night it is super clear but I have not tried any other night vision scope. The focus ring at the front if mega stiff so I fitted a break away thing which makes all the difference.
Hi thankyou for watching and for your comment. Yes it's a great scope both day and night and without a doubt one of the best on the market. I have now upgraded to the 4k model and I also have the 4k lrf one as well. Looking forward to trying them out and uploading some videos with them.
Is it wide angle focusing. Terry.
Hi Terry the Axion has a base mag of 2x which gives you a great field of view / base mag on the lowest setting, so it will cover a good area.
Can you tell me if pulsar Axion 2XQ36 lrf is wide angle focus.
Another cracking video Jim. Very nice unit and some good shooting mate 👍
Cheers Trev and yes mate I am impressed with it 👍
Very nice jim👍 does it work in the daytime? Atb muddy 😃👍
Thanks muddy and yes it works in the daytime to mate.
Nice one Jim 👍 Don’t forget viewers, if you send the picatinny mount to Heritage Engineering, they will modify it so you’re able to realign the reticle to centre during zeroing. There’s a video on my channel showing the process. Cheers Jimbo, see you next month 👍👍
Thanks Dave and yes always good to mention that 👍
Hello, do you have a complete IR lamp in addition to your scope to carry out your shots at 60 m?
Hi all the night footage shown in the video was using the built in ir torch on the scope. I do have additional ir torches but I didn't use them with this unit.
Looks good that mate , seems to have plenty of specs to keep the tech fans busy 👍👍🤠
It is good mate I really do like these. And yes plenty of specs 😂 but easy to use.
Good review , thanks.
Thankyou 👍
Nice review Jim👌
Thanks mate 👍
@@jimwood Jim the last few times I’ve tried to comment on your stuff it wouldn’t work so I haven’t been ignoring you😂 was only on your channel 🤷🏼
@nimrod260rem3 I believe Mick millions wouldn't 😂😂 to be fair I haven't posted for a while but I'm hopefully getting a new permission next week which I'm looking forward to. And it it should have plenty of foxes and rats on it.
@@jimwood sounds good mate nice when you get a new place, hope its good 👍
Looks a fabulous bit of kit Jim.
I've tried a few thermal scopes Shaun and even though this is the base model I was so impressed with it mate. Yes it's not cheap but for air rifle and rimfire shooting it's perfect.
have you installed the new firmware update? it has improved the unit greatly. if you have done the update a video of your opinion of this update would be nice as most reviewers of any scope very rarely follow uo their original post with any firmware updates that get released.
No not yet but I will in the next few days and yes I will be doing a video showing this. Apparently the ballistic calculator is very good so I'm looking forward to trying it out. How good is it in your opinion? Thanks for the message 👍
@@jimwood I don't have the lrf version so can't comment but they have fixed a few issues especially with you now being able to set the power level on the ir to either l/m/h...minimum focus is now set at 2 and the image seems a lot more cleaner.
@dbarnard2 that's good then. I will keep you posted once I have done the update. Glad they have sorted the ir power settings. Can you turn the ir off completely and use an additional ir?
@@jimwood yes you are able to now disable the ir completely if you wish.
@dbarnard2 that's good to know thanks 👍
Im using a burris 5x25x50. Is this too big of a scope to use it on ?
To be honest I'm not sure as I didn't have yhe clip on version. The one in the video is the scope version. If you contact Opticswarehouse they will be able to help
Thanks pard, just what I wanted to know. It would be crucial to me to have the on off switch illuminated so I would remember to switch it off, appreciate your review, keep up the great videos 👍
No worries at all and thanks for watching my video's I appreciate it 👍
Been subscribed for a good while now and watch regularly 👌 keep up the good work pard
@KernowPestControl I'm working on new video's at the moment so will be uploading soon. 👍
Look forward to seeing that when it's uploaded pard. I'm in the hide now but bugger all happening so I won't be making any videos today 😂😂
@KernowPestControl wish I was in a hide 😂 hope something turns up so mate. And hopefully in the next 2 or 3 weeks as I have just got a new permission which I'm looking round this Friday so I want to get some footage from that as well to go with another video.
Hi Jim, hows things I dont know if you'll get this message, but I just got the Hikmicro Alpex A50 T, I've done the up grade to the latest version but it looks different to the one you have in your video 🫣🫣🫣😂 my zoom goes from 3.5 straight to 7, then its single clicks to 14.. so its different ??? Also theres no in-between from 3.5 mag to 7 mag, it just jumps from 3.5 to 7.. is that normal and how the scope works.. if you get to read this then thanks for reading and any advice would be helpful.. ✌️🤟👍
Hi Johnny. Don't worry about the new update it caught me out as well. Basically the way the mag works now is exactly the same as before but for some reason Hik have decided to change the format of the way the mag shows now. It still goes up the same as it did before but it just looks like it jumps from the base mag to half way up the magnification setting. Why they have done this I don't know, so yes it looks different to how mine was but it's not, it's just numbered differently now. Hope this makes sense 👍
PERCHE LA VOLPE
I am tld this one can be zeroed but I canot find how to do it in the literature provided and whe I concacts Wulf they initially said take oout the top three screws and than that you turned the ring below the drum cover. Mine does not turn. Can you zero this scope and if so how do you do it?
Nice shooting , what would you pick this scope or the Zulus 5x20 ? Thanks
Thanks 👍 and personally I would choose the cheetah. The main reason is the cheetah is more suited for a right handed shooter which I am and the Zulus is more suited for a left hand shooter. They are both very good scopes and I would say the Zulus image quality during the day is better to. But for me the cheetah would be the one I would go for but that's just my opinion. They both have good and bad points but what digital scope doesn't.
@@jimwood thanks m8
@crazycressy7986 no worries mate 👍
Hi Jim, mate I'm having a senior moment and I've forgotten how to play back videos on the hikmicro lynx pro lh 25....Any chance you could give me a crash course ?😂.
Hello mate. To be honest I'm not if you can. I haven't had that unit for a while now and I don't remember playing back video's. I seem to recall I plugged it into my computer to watch it back but I could be wrong. I will see if I can find out for you.
@@jimwood Thanks Jim, much appreciated.
Well done Pal, good shooting, But tell me, if you had the choice would you buy an Arken Zulus with LRF OR the Hik Alpex & LRF, I understand that the Alpex is quite heavy , while the Zulus is half the weight of the Alpex but is a similar price. I really would appreciate your views & comments on this. Thank you,
Hi mate firstly thanks for watching and that is a very good question. Now I have both the Alpex LRF and the Zulus LRF but I haven't tried them out properly yet. Yes the Zulus is alot lighter and has the ballistic calculator like the Alpex but one thing I have noticed is it would suit a left handed shooter better than a right. I'm right handed so I would probably say I would choose the Alpex for that reason. The are both excellent quality scopes image wise was but not used them at night yet. The zoom function on the Zulus is a tiny little wheel at the rear of the scope just behind the buttons so if you wear gloves you would struggle to operate it. Once the weather gets better I will be testing them properly just not sure when as I have a couple of other reviews to do first. Sorry I can't give anymore info at this point. All the best Jim
Hi. Thanks for the prompt reply, I note your comments & look forward to viewing your field test at night. Thanks again, most useful,.@@jimwood
@jamesbowskill362 no worries and I hope you will find my up and coming video's useful 👍 All the best 👍
Great stuff Jim.
Thanks mate 👍
Hello Jim, always cci subsonic hollow point 40gr? Thanks
Yes I always use them, however I have bought some other rounds to test to see if they are better. I will be doing a video on it 👍
@@jimwood ok friends 😉
Do you think these scopes could handle a .243 ? I been down to a gun shop today and they said the hawke scopes won’t take the .243 so I have now turned my attention to the wulf range
Well my mate uses a hawke sidewinder scope on his howa 243 and never had any issues with it. And yes this scope can be used on a 243.
@@jimwood thank you for the quick response !! Subscribed
@user-jt9ro7xp5t no worries and thankyou for the sub I appreciate it 🙏
Do you have a shooting channel?
What kind 22lr ammo do you use rabbit?
I use CCI subsonic 40 grain hollow point
good to see you back again jim , love watching your vids no bull straight to the point brilliant, hope it drys up soon.
Thanks Tony glad you enjoy my vids mate and the weather has been terrible which has stopped alot of my shooting trips out. I've got more video's coming up just need it to be dry mate.
@@jimwood dont we all jim. loads of foxs around on my farms ,on them this week weather permitting,
Great stuff mate 🤙
Thanks mate 👍
Nice work on the bunnies and the bonus red skins weather's been horrific mate 🐇🦊💥🎯👍
Thanks mate and yes I can't believe this weather is still continuing. Fingers crossed for dryer weather soon 🙏
Great vid. Jim.👍
Thanks Shaun 👍
Hi Jim , remember that you spoke about a new channel name before? How about DDD Hunting? Damp Deadly Duo 😁 When will it stop bloody raining 🤷🏼♂️ There was some brilliant stuff there again, I particularly loved your second rabbit shot, and all three Foxes. The last Fox shooting between the fence was a corker too. Well Done fellas 👍👍
Thanks Dave and I will think about the new name 😂😂 the weather is shocking at the moment so can't wait for dryer conditions. I was pleased with the last fox to, 77 yards if I remember correctly. 👍
Another great video Jim, well done. Geoff.
Thanks Geoff glad you enjoyed it mate 👍
Nice one guys 👍👍🤠
Thanks mate 👍
Nice one guys 👍 were any of those bunnys carrying chocolate eggs 🐇🤪. Atb muddy 😃👍
Thanks muddy and no mate but if they had of been they would have lived 😂. Hope all okay with you mate 👍
@@jimwood hey I'm good, got a little bit of footage on the feral pigeon so I might get a video out soon as the farm I shoot on is selling up, but already have another farm so hopefully they'll let me film some hunting vids👍
@oldmuddygun nice one muddy good luck on your new farm and will look forward to seeing a new vid mate 👍
I wish we had the numbers of rabbits down south east that you have great video always enjoy but on the other hand we do have plenty of fallow all the best
Thanks mate and yes we have plenty of rabbits here, too many for the farmer's liking. All we can do is keep on top of them the best we can. All the best 👍
That’s some great footage with the camcorder…did you have it strapped to the CZ?
Thankyou and no I was using a small tripod with the camcorder on. Plenty more to come once the weather gets better and the ground has dried out.
@@jimwood That’s some patient work, operating the camera then rifle…skill 👍
@GeorgeMcKnight thanks but to fair you get quite abit of time when it comes to rabbit shooting they do hang around for a while even if you shoot one the others sometimes just sit there. And using a rimfire it's pretty quiet as well.
Cracking job on the bunnies mate and always nice to have a bonus Charlie 👍 let's hope it starts to dry up a bit now, we need a few dry nights 💥🦊👍
Thanks Keith and yes always good to bag a couple of Charlie's. I agree mate this weather needs to do one and warmer weather needs to hurry up. 👍
It was worth getting wet for bruv , hopefully next time there will be more about , footage came out really well. Total bonus to get them foxes bruv 👊
👍🇮🇪
Nice review Jim nice work on the tree rats 💥🎯👍
Nice work on the bunnies Jim 🐇🎯👍
Thanks mate certainly plenty about 👍
👍🇮🇪
Good stuff mate....I just bought a 457 with a Alpex 4k LRF.. ( your fault😂) have you got your 4k yet?
😂😂 my fault, okay I will take the blame but only because I think its a cracking little rifle. I have a 452 17HMR now as well so looking forward to playing with that. Yes I got my 4k lrf a while ago but the weather has been shocking here for the past few weeks I have been able to get out with it. How you finding your new set up? Looking forward to seeing some video's with it mate 👍
@@jimwood Nice, that 17 sounds perfect for your properties. I'm very impressed with the Cz and hik, still learning the hik but I'm nearly there lol. The CZ, for the money is excellent, I have no complaints, for the price, you will only get half a sako Well made, finished and accurate...it shoots as well as my 1999 sako finnfire. I have finally sifted through all the menus of the hik and must say, it is a very impressive bit of gear. Have taken a few bunnies already with eley hv , the rifle loves them. Also just wondering howdo you clean the soft touch stock?.... When i find a patch where theres more than one rabbit I'll make a vid 😄👍
@cyclo360 honestly mate it's a perfect combo I absolutely love mine. Hopefully get the 17HMR sighted in and do some videos with that as well. As for the stock I haven't touched mine in the 3 years I've owned it apart from going over it with a wet wipe. That's all. Mine really likes the CCI SUBSONIC HOLLOW POINT 40 grain. Will look forward to your bunny video.
Good video jim, looks like alot of rabbits to sort out! I do love Hikmicros gear, i just bought a SQ50 2.0 and its image is so damn clear.
Thanks Paul and yes plenty of rabbits to take of mate. I've seen footage from the stellar 2.0 it looks amazing mate, hopefully one day I will get to try one out.
Certainly a few rabbits there alright... As always , great video mate 👍
Your not wrong there mate, will certainly be having another go over there. Hope all okay with you mate 👍
@@jimwood yer , all good here but it would be nice to see some rain , we haven't had any for over 10 weeks now , not game to go driving around the paddocks..
@shanegibb997 10 weeks no rain? Wow you can have our rain lol its been wet here for weeks mate can't wait for the dryer warmer weather.
Awesome stuff guys , good to see you both out , plenty of rabbits there to keep you busy,, brilliant scope that too , nice one 👍👍🤠
Cheers Col and yeah an unbelievable amount of rabbits over there, and the scope is brilliant I must admit 👍
@@jimwood 👍👍🤠
Outstanding stuff Jimbo and Clint. There were a few more there than where I took you 😳😳 I’ll see you in June 🫵👍
Thanks Dave and yes I couldn't believe how many bunnies were about. Yep see you in June matey 👍
Hi mate looking at swapping to rifle from airgun as I think the rimfire is more ethical/ slightly more margin for shot placement error. Do you aim for headshots? With a 22lr is up to 50 yards about right? Cheers !
04:33 You just invented Rabbit Golf Jim))
😂 hole in one Jimmy
Nice shooting guys, hard to find a place that hasn't been shot much, must be a few predators about with all those bunny's out in the field. Atb muddy 😃👍
Cheers muddy and yes its a great bit of ground mate. But we didn't see a single fox but loads of badgers about. Hope all ok with you mate 👍
Great footage bruv , roll On the next session 👊
Absolutely bruv bring it on. 👍
