My name is Ruby and I started off on KZread sharing study tips, motivation and advice. I recently graduated from university and am now taking a year out to take things slow and focus on writing and learning outside of a formal educational setting. I'm a huge proponent of self-guided learning, and don't believe this stops when you leave school.

Very few people today are serious readers. People don't read books, magazines, newspapers, or poetry like the past. There are much less bookstores as a result. Part of being intellectual comes from reading a lot. That includes a variety of genres. It also helps if you can read in at least one foreign language.

Hi Ruby,! On the Jane Austen front, I would recommend you read Emma, if after reading it you still don't like Jane Austen then it's a done deal but you should definitely give it a try. It's (in my opinion) her wittiest and most hilarious book. Let's say her pen was particularly sharp on that one. 😄
I'm writing this years after it happened, and you've done so well Ruby and achieved a lot. But if you had scored high for your first essay the bar would have been set so high for you. With a low mark, the only way is up. Often the tutor comments and feedbacks are invaluable

I read The White Book and The Vegetarian by Han Kang early this year. I had heard a lot of good things about Han Kang beforehand but for some reason I didn't dare to read her works. Now I have finally mustered enough courage to get into her and I only have one word to describe these two books : PHENOMENAL!🤩😍 Two other phenomenal books I have read this year so far are Almond by Sohn Won-pyung (I do LOVE Korean literature so much) and The Bell Jar by Sylvia Plath☺️ I read Tuesdays with Morrie when I was in 9th grade and I loved it too! Another book by Mitch Albom I read at middle school was For One More Day, and it was the first book in my life to have ever made me cry🫣

Hi ruby, I really hope you’ll enjoy Jane Austen’s book. As a big fan of Jane Austen I must say that I found myself enjoying more books which are not as famous as pride and prejudice or emma. I advice you to read Mansfield park which is one of my favourite ! However I read it in French, so it might be different from you… Have a nice week !

Hi Ruby, how did you make the table top so glossy? Did you put varnish on top of the white paint? I'm painting mine and I used gloss finish but it's still not that shiny/glossy (I'd like for it to be as glossy as your desk to make it easier to clean😊) Thank you!

Lovely view and concept. I love to read but do not on vacations except in room in the evening. Otherwise your eyes and attention are in a book. Even reading on a train or buses. Missing sights and perhaps conversations with new acquaintances. Totally my opinion. Thank you for your insights on the art pieces👍❤️

On my last year as a master's student and just mainly working on my thesis with no class. Sometimes its tough to go out and just do the work when you're faced with a wall on the subject. These videos helps with the initial motivation for doing it. Hope your master's study go well.
I lived in Yorkshire, for 3.5 years as a lad - from 6 to 10 years old. I am 68 years, now.
Whatanother lovely princess bkind total wash with geoenginered clouds behind her chemical sky blocking the sun diverting the light in such an obviously unnatural way, she looks like she's in a cartoon yet still clueless reciting poetry living in artificial weather with environment trees animals exterminated, more human experiments cause they're so oblivious and self infatuated they literally can't see the sky above them
