I found out this last winter, unintentionally, that it'll blow some dirt... I noticed one night that the engine load was high and some black/brown stuff mixed with snow was coming out of the spout. The 2023-2024 winter was a fairly light winter and one property owner decided to trench lines in for an irrigation system. One of the trenches happened to be next to the pedestrian sidewalk and I guess half of the dirt had spilled onto the sidewalk. Once I put two and two together I decided to continue (there was maybe another 4 feet of dirt) and it handled it.

I am not concerned about the small loss of fluid and do not mind cleaning the plugs; but I hate it when an implement has been parked cold and then when needed in hot weather the flluid in the lines has expanded making coupling impossible without loosening the coupler and bleeding off the pressure. Does the open type solve that problem?
@westriverlawnsnow34525 ай бұрын
These specific 1/4" flat faced couplers will not fix your specific issue because they don't have an intergraded pressure release (connect under pressure). I have mentioned to Summit about offering a 1/4" intergraded pressure release (connect under pressure ) flat faced coupler. They were open to ideas and I gave them my idea. They do however offer intergraded pressure release (connect under pressure) on 3/8" and larger couplers. FYI, the intergrade pressure release, to my knowledge is only on the male coupler. I initially looked in the 3/8" size couplers because of the connect under pressure feature. However, due to the size of the couplers, I determined it wasn't going to work very well or potentially at all.
