Ventrac 4500Z w/ Tough Cut - Mowing Ditch

Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

Ventrac 4500Z mowing a ditch with the Tough Cut (HQ680) in knee high to about waste high grass. The length of the entire ditch is 1/2 a mile and took about 3 hours to mow. This video was filmed in June of 2020 with the GoPro Hero 8. I do apologize for the video being titled to the left like it is. I do have more videos of the Ventrac 4500Z working, so stay tuned! Thank you for watching!
This is the very first video I've ever uploaded to KZread, so any tips and tricks are greatly appreciated. This video was originally filmed in 60fps, but I couldn't figure out how to keep the video in 60fps after putting all the video clips together in the "video editor" app that's already on the laptop. If you have any knowledge on that subject, please let me know in the comments. Thank You

Great work mate! My Kubota front mount has no issues with grass that long, but it certainly isn't as good on steep slopes and in very wet conditions. Earned yourself another subscriber from Australia ;D

I like how that head goes through the grass. But I hate how it doesn't mulch up what was cut and it looks like it just leaves it where it was cut.

Holy moley! Some of that grass had to have been about arse high to a 9 ft. Australian!!! Good job though the pitch of that one part was a little too steep for comfort. I can't figure out if some of the thickest grass is actually getting cut or just being laid over. Hard to tell on the video.

These are extremely productive machines. We do same kind of mowing and ours has been very dependable. In the winter we put on the cab and a rotary brush and do snow removal. Looking to buy another one . A little more money up front but no comparison with other mowing machines long term. Repairs virtually none. These things can be used in multiple conditions.

None of the above. We where already mowing the lawn of where the manager of this facility lives, and one thing lead to another, and we got the job. They like to have the ditch that boarders the facility mowed every so many times a year to keep a reasonable presentation. Thank you for watching!

Re 60 fps. You need to set it before inserting any files. I presume they are all 60 fps. This holds true for most editors. Great machine there and your helper is a keeper. :)

In general, the smallest bat wing style rotary mower is about 10 feet, and requires a 25-60 PTO HP (you would want around a 40 PTO HP tractor to run it well) tractor, that cost significantly more than the Ventrac, and can't do fraction of what the Ventrac is capable of. If I was cutting, for instance, areas that we're around 7 acers or more, on a regular basis, I would then probably consider a tractor with a bat wing style rotary mower. Thank You For Watching!
