Interesting. In the US we call baby foxes kits, not cubs. What do you call baby bears? Just curious.

You aren't supposed to feed wild or feral animals, but in this case I am glad to see someone that is just a good person helping out a "Momma" in need! Foxes, Fox's, 🤔😉 are extremely smart, much smarter than many people, and will do whatever it takes to survive and protect her Kit's. I personally witnessed a momma Fox protecting her den from a pack of Coyotes that had the intention of her and her pup's for dinner. I didn't want to hurt any of the Coyotes because they were just trying to survive, but earlier that winter I had noticed what appeared to be a Fox carcass that I now believe was the Male Fox the Coyotes had killed. I live in the country so I grabbed my handgun and got close enough to the Coyotes before they noticed me and I was able to empty one full magazine in the ground behind them as they ran off, literally scaring the crap out of several of them! I have heard the Coyotes howling and yipping in the distance at night but I haven't seen or heard any close to our home for several years now. Momma Fox has had several litters in the last couple of years and last year she had one that included one that was solid black.

How nice she has a food source she doesnt have to scrounge for, traveling about around traffic and possibly mean people. Thank you for caring for her! And of course her babies to come. That tick would drive me nuts! Hate those things on my pets, but pets have to let me remove them even if they dont like it. She's a sweet girl who found a kind man. ❤

In 2001, I had the chance to have my photo taken at the "Royal Palm Visitor's Centre" in Florida with an alligator completely in the wild. It was very warm that day and it was EXTREMELY lethargic. Later, in Ontario Canada near the Agawa Canyon, I had the luxury of feeding a naturally wild fox. It looked totally tame as it was near a campsite and many fed him. Foxes are the best!!! Excellent video, by the way.

Nice, thanks. Yes, you didn't see her for a while because they won't leave the cubs for the first few weeks after they are born. As for the tick, don't worry about it - it will drop off after a few days; they can occasionally carry diseases, but usually there's no harm done. I don't know if you've had a nursing vixen visiting before? You're going to find that, as the months pass and the cubs get bigger, she's going to develop a huge appetite, firstly because she needs to eat more to keep producing milk and secondly because she will take food from you and give it to the cubs. Chances are you'll see those cubs soon, if you haven't already. One tip - if she starts to bury stuff, don't give her any more on that occasion, because she doesn't actually need it there and then. If you keep giving her more, she will keep taking it, but it will all get buried and she might not even eat it later - although somebody will. And dog/cat food is perfect, although you might want to add a taurine supplement to it, especially to dog food. Raw chicken is good too - they eat the bones and get calcium from them; don't feed cooked chicken with bones though.
