​@@2to-tango not in the UK. They'll only get involved if something is life threatening. Debs has tried on her channel because the male Basil that she feeds had a damaged left hind leg he couldn't use for over a month and the only thing she could do was sneak pain killers into the food. They refused due to capture causing more stress and potentially causing more harm and damage.

So beautiful with its dainty legs and feet. There is another channel showing the foxes eating from the hand, I asked the question "is a fox-hunting fad over in England, hopefully," I never got an answer, but, I'm still curious. I got hooked on a fox channel, few years ago, a fox was raised as a pet. (as much as a fox can be a pet, there were instincts that never went away. That fox had so much character, and such high energy, his laughing when tickled, put me in stitches, The fox succumbed to diabetes, can't remember how old he was, no matter the diet adjustment or treatment. The owner got another fox, but, it lacked the personality for KZread clicks.

I’d love a fox in my garden to keep down the pests (mice, moles, rats). The pests seem to really think our garden is a pest sanctuary. We don’t even have a can anymore to keep them away, so a fox would awesome!

The closest I ever got to a fox was maybe a mile or 2 away so many years ago, we where living at the spot my sister's spouse, my brother-in-law's mother's place maybe a year or 3 after the eviction. One time in the night I was hearing a fox howling far away, with dogs barking, these areas are in rural US up in the mountains far north. I don't know how to convert imperial measurements into metric. Another time it was when we all found a RV park to live in, one night my father stopped on the road because baby foxes where crossing the path though I didn't get to see them myself because of the darkness in the night and the height of the vehicle. This was technically the closest but I couldn't see nor hear them clearly enough.

@brett, have a look at Debs channel mate. She's feeding four and the oldest female Biscuit, has gotten to the point she will eat what Debs gives her till she offers the raw chicken. Biscuit now turns her nose up or head to the side for a neck and or head scratch, before she takes the chicken. Debs hand feeds her inside the hallway to her house. I would not at all be surprised if Biscuit becomes rather domesticated. Biscuit, Cookie and Chip Chip are all female, with Basil being the only male.

Wildlife are actually pretty adaptable. Herds of deer roam through subdivisions. Coyotes have vastly expanded their territory, including into urban areas. I have a photo I took of a fox walking across the lawn in front of the U.S. Supreme Court building.

​​@@EssexCountyPhoto I agree, but problem is not all people like animals, you would feed a wild animal and gain its trust, and it understands that humans are friends, what if that animal goes in another garden thinking to be feeded, instead people people harm or kill it. Wild animals are so desperate for food to try to find it in urban environments, because their habitats are gone, or do not provide food anymore. It's a horrible reality and it is happening almost everywhere in the world.

Very lovely, and you probably know it's a bad idea to feed a wild animal like that. This beautiful fox will lose it's well-founded fear towards humans, which some despicable human individual will eventually take offence from, and then the fox will be killed in some way.
