We've got one of the highest energy prices in the world if not the highest and we want to send enough power to power whole cities in indonsia when projects like these could change the lifes of its own people is very annoying. Why is it that the people never get to vote what our goverment does or where our taxpayers money goes its shameful.

Two additional criticisms to explore in greater depth: 1) Nusantara will be a non-democratic city. Its residents will not be able to vote on the local government. Instead, the city will be administered by an executive authority selected by the president without parliamentary confirmation. I've seen it speculated that moving the city away from the country's major population centers and even the layout of the city itself is a deliberate attempt to shield the executive branch from mass demonstration, which brought down the decades-long Suharto dictatorship in Jakarta in 1998. 2) Nusantara is seen as an abandoning of Jakarta. The problems Jakarta faces are real and worsening, but the move to Nusantara without any rescue plans for Jakarta make it appear that the government is abandoning its largest, most problematic city after decades of corruption and mismanagement.

The leaders failed to share their wealth and were unable to create a healthy middle class in their country. Just like other “wealthy” arib nations, we don’t want to come see your leaders flaunt their wealth.

I was very active thus years in the diff projects in the country. Once approached and got that it is never going to take a place due to many factors and first of all is education level they are employing. In general, it's for good that all ended up as in the video. Many lives and resources are saved. Even location have been chosen partly over gas storage facility on the top old gas reservoir. The rest is history.....
