Love me a bimetallic strip!
I love these kinds of "over engineered" items that are made for a persons very specific and subjective need..! Yay!!! 😄 More stuff like this, please... 👍
Those would make amazing desk pieces.
lovely design, the background music first caught me a bit off guard, thought some crackhead neighbor was already up at 2am playing piano, sounded too realistic.
How much time did it take you to create the design before making it?
Threads are never polished. That way they'll always be undersized.
If you want to make the brass more food safe, you could electroplate it.
realy nice bild, only the bell ringing is a little bit to soft, just my opinion. cheers ben
Great little project! One of these days, I'll be browsing your videos, and you'll have invented a working time machine with full build instructions.😂 I can't wait till that day comes! 😁👍
well done, thanks for the video
White dudes be like.
that's cool!
wonderful, you're completely out of your mind, I had a great time
The new lathe isn’t manky at all - the patina is beautiful
lol, Now make one that rings when my beer gets too warm
how many mugs of tea were forgotten during the making of this mechanism?
Not chrenova engineering
Absolutely beautiful work as always. Thank you for the great insight and inspiration.
Make the bell hang freely you'll get a much nicer ding instead of a dull clank.
soothing to watch ❤
the madman did it. he actually actually used the thermal expansion equation from physics class.
Too cold to enjoy? Make it colder so you can enjoy it as iced tea instead 😅
Sledgehammer to crack a walnut doesn't begin to describe this exquisite project. And it's adjustable for preference. Of course it is. When genius meets master craftsmanship! Now about that Norden bombsight......
I love the change of narration. It is such a sweet addition, I feel so soothed by her voice. Wonderful work.
And this year's Goldberg Award goes to...
The lack of adverts is so refreshing you can really immerse yourself in the video without annoying interruptions.
You can conserve energy by tuning the contact point of components, the click sounds harsh, maybe not for a clock tho im unsure, i assume by weakening the detent spring itl conserva alot of energy.. Im no watchmaker tho, did start a pocket watch project wheere i almost completed the gear train, took an entire year so had to abandon lol The year was also full of custom tool making, verticle milling attachment, microscope attachment, etc etc etc This video was orgasmic 😂😂 Rollercoaster of emotions, want to make watches SOOO BAD i think its something in my dna lol I WANT TO BUILD COMPLEX MECHANICAL ENGINNERING PROJECTS LIKE I NEED WATER 😂😂
Good old by metal strip. I have had to remake these for vintage honda motorcycles and their automatic chokes.
Absolutely incredible so talented.
This is the best thing I’ve seen on YT in a long time. I’m just starting to learn how to machine, but this transcends my ambitions to learn.
Wallace and grommetcore
I love this! If you’re not already a member of the Dull Men’s Club you should be! They’d lap this up over there!
thank you for sharing your work!!
Wow , only a Brit would make this but also with great/quirky design and quality sir you have a new admirer and a proud Brit to see the talent that still exists in our country, brave.
I don't think I've ever seen a device use a exposed bi metallic mechanism that you can actually see working. that is so cool I hope they invent a gay metallic mechanism next, or ace
All that build up, and we only saw one demonstration of the finished product, and even then, it wasn’t a live-firing situation, but a test run with just water! I need to see this a dozen times with real tea!
Rube Golberg ain't got nothin' on you!
Yeah, but we use the Ferinhight scale over here. pass.
that lathe is so nice. when i initially saw this video in my feed i thought it was a Technology Connections video, since theyve covered bimetallic strip technology so oftenly lol. i need something like this for my coffee
I thought the heart of a watch is the balance spring, not the escapement?
I love it. I adhere to the comments regarding improvements to the sound, and I'm curious to see what will you make to put it after it's used 🍵
Do you need to re shim a tool when you resharpen it?
Excellent video! Your cinematography is top-notch! (And your machining skills are very good, too.)
10:57 nice chip
Copper and is alloys is usually tinned when used for cooking and storing food.
But does it work with coffee lol
Wish you could also show how centered the point is with the microscope.
Fantastic grind! The two chips came out simultaneously. 👍👍👍
"will work well enough..." From yourself, practically *blasphemy*
I was hoping for a kind of over-centre clanger 😥
