Hi KZread ! I'm Jonathan , I've been wrenching on cars ever since I was old enough to do so. Everything I've learned about cars came from much research and hands on experience. With a passion for fixing vehicles I decided to attend school for it. I was interested in mechanics but I figured I "knew" what I was doing more or less in that field so ended up attending collision repair classes . I started with a class of nearly thirty students and at the very end I was among one of the three students that graduated . I worked in the collision industry for just over two years and decided to take a break from it . I'm glad to have the knowledge and experience as a collision repair specialist but I found that I really enjoy the mechanics side of the business. With my third child on her way into this world I took a job outside of the automotive industry . Now I make these KZread videos out of my garage on my free time. It's very difficult to balance everything but my subscribers keep me going.

Deez nuts! 🥜🤪
Tighten the adjustment bolts
The reflector goes bad in every car over time…. But I guess in this case yours is worse
There are ways to clear the hood. Also what was the stock motor that would determine whether to rebuild or build the old engine.
I'm not worried about clearing the hood, I'd rather have ground clearance
@themechanic6117 I just picked up a wago and have been watching a lot of swaps. There's a way, but I get what you're saying. Most have to cut the ribs on the hood and shave the intake for it to shut without a hole. Both I'm not really fond of. I'd rather custom make a hood if that's the case it would look a lot cleaner. Either way, keep up the good work. Vtech Academy has some of the best videos if you run into any issues with like the speedo and other things most don't mention.
My engine needs a vtc actuator the part number for my engine is 14310-RZA-003 would the 14310-RBC-003 FIT instead?
I had both some rusty but mostly unrusted body frame and undercarriage parts that I treated thoroughly last fall before salty road Northeast winter, in a newer car. I Just got up under there last week to assess and 're-treat' as necessary. Treated areas (even over rust) looked PERFECT and identical to how they looked after they were treated and the product had dried last year. I was amazed. Resprayed delicate parts anyway while I was up in there to ensure zero exposed metal (but I probably wouldn't have needed to; however all the work/time spent was just getting the car lifted and all skid plates removed). CRC stuff is the bomb. Buy it in 4 packs.. Big savings. ***I just wish there was a long tube applicator that has a wider dispersion spray coverage so that you can get up into all cavity's and cover every inch of metal floor pans/welds, etc AND into the frame cavities more easily. CRC: please come out with such a dispenser nozzle ***
💪it definitely works well! I still use it like crazy
Just stumbled on your video. I had 3 different fords do this all within a few weeks. I did the same thing you did. The weird thing is that the new plug screwed in perfectly fine.
For some reason it's really common on fords, after cleaning up the threads the new plug should go in smooth
Wow! Great video i have the same issue i am dealing with.
Sorry to hear that, hopefully you get it fixed
Great video, that kid's done well to find a decent, diligent mechanic such as yourself. That hack job on the alternator and the frame cutting are the hallmarks of an absolute crook and give mechanics a bad name. Well done mate, I enjoyed watching the process.
900 ml with Diesel, plus acetone and ATF 1/3 of each. It will speed up some. Do a flush with it and the use as additive by 10% for the next 2 oil change intervals afthe the pure flushing. I've also tried 700 ml of gasoline and 100 ml of dish wash detergent giving a decent in a 15 minutes quick cleaning.
A quart of atf is not going to do it. Drain all the old oil. Replace it with five quarts of ATF. Let it >>idle<< for 20-30. Do NOT drive it!! Drain it and then replace the oil filter and fresh oil.
What are your payment methods? I'm in Chicago and I've been watching your videos for awhile now.

Thank you for the video. Ill be doing mine this weekend and have never done struts before.
My man!!! That the tool, that I need for my 05 Dakota.
great video ! where did you get the turbo ?
Ebay, but you can get a oem part from rockauto at a Decent price
what are the torque pounds for lug nuts for your car?
I'll usually do 90 foot pounds, I think spec might be 80

Frame rail delete 😮
Weight reduction lol
The snap on is life time warrenty. I also have the mayhew. I have broken 2 of then in 6 years. But I beat the hell out of them
I was certain a impact bit wasn't under lifetime warranty, I threw it out 😩
Kickstand spring pick. Smart tip with the masking tape. I believe the phrase is "I'll burn that bridge when I get to it!". I've been wacked in the hand by a caliper because I removed a bolt.
It's not fun when you get whacked or pinched by one!
I guess the Snap On warranty only applies to hand tools, not air tools?
I think I briefly looked into it, this type of tool isn't covered
Whoever worked on that Mazda before should apply for a job at Boeing. Scary stuff, compromising safety to make a job easier. I’d be scared to drive that thing if I found out part of the subframe had been chopped off.
If I remember correctly the owner said it was his uncle who cut the frame but I'd need to confirm that .
That hack frame cut-out truly is a double edged sword. It compromises vehicle frame integrity yet offers alternator and wiring accessibility. These longer videos offer great detail and are much appreciated. Thanks for all your hard work.
I definitely wasn't complaining when it came time to repair the harness, it's unfortunate that it was hacked up like that. Owner wasn't happy when I pointed that out. 🤷♂️
Aha there's that socket I've been looking for🤣🤣🤣 ,,,free for you
I fought to get that thing out of there! Makes me wonder how it even got wedged in there 🤔
Good Job, Longer Videos Are Way Better Than Short, This Way We get To See Everything getting Figured out.
Thanks , glad you enjoyed the longer video. Editing wasn't fun lol
@@themechanic6117 As A Content Creator, I Understand The Editing gets Tough Sometimes, But I would Rather Watch 1 Long Video Than Jump Around trying to find Something To Watch, Plus i get To Learn New Stuff. Love Your Honda, I got A 93 Del Sol Myself.
@@Iseekoutthetruth then you understand lol, that's cool. I had a del sol before, didn't last long lol but I had one. I remember constant water problems and it had a really bad clutch that was slipping like crazy lol
As soon as I noticed that frame work I would have refused to touch it. If his insurance company knew about it I'm sure they would not give coverage for it.
I see your point of view
Nice one 👍🏼
Thanks for watching
Looks like pookies cousin got ahold of that car. That cut is going to lead to the frame cracking and vehicle sent to the scrapper.
Hopefully the owner gets a few years out of it before that happens
@@themechanic6117 i hope so, but with the way roads are doubtful. The poor kid got a hard lesson on a free car. He'll remember this lesson for the rest of his life.
The one who did the cutting should go to jail. 5: 25: free socket! haha
I did end up getting that! It was stuck in there pretty good! Lol
You've got a lifetime customer in that kid now. That other crook ripped the kid off. You might be too far from me. I need front brakes. Pads & rotors. I'm in Chicago. 2012 Scion xB.
I'm in Valparaiso IN, I have a few customers that come out from Chicago
@@themechanic6117 I've been to Valpo many times! I need your info!
Oh my gosh. I've often said "you see some cray stuff" but this takes the prize for stupidity. That $500 job will cost $1000 to patch that job. Mahew might be a tool company worth looking into.
Mayhew stuff has been 💪 for me and their prices are reasonable. I've seen people do little things to cut corners or make a job easier but this one definitely is the most egregious .
Good video! Still trying to find a tutorial for how to open a car door that won't open from inside OR outside. Trying to find a solution that doesn't require cutting out the panel to access the cables😭
Amazon has everything you need....
After watching about 30 videos on replacing brake rotors in preparation to perform the job myself, this was the last one I watched. Absolutely the best! Best lighting, best angles, best tips, best editing. THIS video shows EVERYTHING. Thank you, sir!
Glad it helped you! Thanks for the awesome comments 👍💪
this is a scam don't buy it, yeah right you can separate the spacer and the rod end to place the tool, how come he does not show it!!?
I don't know what you're talking about. Yes the adapters are separated from the tool , that's how it works
@@themechanic6117 metal tap bend backwards 3:04 good luck with that! (why didn't he show how he did it
Bend it back with a flat head screwdriver, if you can't figure that out then you should just take your car to a professional.
@@themechanic6117 did it just fine without bending nothing. You are right though without a lift there is no way I am doing this again
Nice video 😊
Are both sides the same?
Yes they are
Thank you!!! I was so nervous on my car. My Toyota had separate sides.
You're welcome. Thanks for watching
Thanks for the great video. It really helped me in replacing my control arms. Just FYI if you have a manual MK4 Jetta/Golf/Beetle you don't have to lift up the transmission to get the bolt out of the hole on the passenger side. Also there is a an allen wrench or torx fitting on the end of both the outer tie rod end so you don't have to use a vice grip to keep it from spinning or an angle grinder which I used and then my wife showed me there was a torx fitting! lol There is one on the ball joint, but you can't get to it so it's useless.
Name of tool?
Inner tie rod tool
Do you just simply pump the brakes after the car in on the ground? Do you take the lid off the master cylinder, I know you don’t bleed antilocks anymore unless it’s done with a computer at a shop?
Yes just pump the brakes. No need to take the lid off
What was the torque attachment you used. Never seen that before. Looks like it attaches to your standard break over handle.
Acdelco torque box
Mine is cranking. It getting spark. I can’t figure it out.
Is it getting fuel?

Hi, you didn't mention what you did to fix the leak on the steering rust hole..
Gonna tackle a wheel bearing tomorrow, first one ever. this was precise and to the point, thanks.
You Rattle can painted the Aluminum, Block Silver !!? WHY ? ARP's go into the block before the head. Not bottoming the studs allows for expansion ARP is serious. ARP grease Only goes on the nut side of the washers. You Actually .. Read..the instructions? (don't think you did ) You have no clue. This poor work Fashionable in Manila ??
A ton of people have pointed all of that out to me, to be honest I didn't read the instructions. This is what happens when you watch someone else's videos on installing ARP studs that also did it wrong 😪👎 yes I have to re do it
Great job on this video! Excellent! Love the humor.
Thank you 😁
Is there one for 1 ton ?
I'm not sure, the first time I tried to use this tool it didn't fit the larger size tie rods .
OTC 6065 is for medium duty trucks
By the way always lift it from behind front tire and No from braket of the engine holder
Dangerous. Check on 1 min and 38 seconds the first stand almost slip out.. find a better way
Nothing slipped and there's nothing wrong with having a jack stand on the subframe
Pretty normal for that motor to climb one notch below the red . Make sure good fluid . Good call on a lower temp thermostat to a lower temp so fans kick in faster
