My name is Chris Wolfe and I love all things RC! I grew up being exposed to all aspects of this hobby and especially love scale building and flying. My passion for this hobby has driven me to start the thercgeek.com along with this KZread channel to provide build tips and tutorials, honest reviews, and to feature some of the cool models I see at different events. My hope is to inspire both new and experienced modelers to try something a little out of the ordinary. I'm here to help you on your journey and provide tips and tricks along the way!
For this channel, it is my goal to upload new videos most weeks (Fridays). I like to keep it fun and informative but I'm a working stiff, so sometimes the tutorial videos take longer than I'd like. Please feel free to comment and give recommendations for possible video tutorials, it helps! Welcome and thanks for watching!

A1 realism, a work of art indeed, build, look and sound. That dirty ole two tone blue is exactly how I painted my little kits as a kid from colour wartime photos.
Beautifully made, beautifully flown.
Damn, looks so real, just the sound needs adjustment.
Wow, great work!!
Thank you!
Great mods on an awesome looking plane, sounds fantastic too!
Excellent flying coverage. B-58 looked great.
Have you had any issues with the elevator assembly disconnecting in flight? Im not a fan of the latch mechanism. seems awful flimsy
I haven’t personally. It’s important to make sure that the elevator is fully seated and clipped into place when you put it on.
Favorite fighter from WWII. I have the Anderson plans....I do NOT have the Anderson talent.🫤
Damn it looks like the real thing cookin' along thru the air
Love it... Have since childhood
Seems like slow motion makes a good video.
I think so. 😁
lol what is that? an RC? lol
It has the lines with nice pattern ship.
The only thing keeping me from picking one of these up is the gear. Flying around with gear on a Mustang just looks so wrong lol, I would have to belly land this little guy in the grass, but that air intake worries me.
I hear you on the gear. I’d love to see some retracts at this size. That would be so badass
Pretty sure 'that bird' is our local red tailed hawk that has a nest in the woods behind you. One of our pilots named her Dolly. She has a companion that has been named Buddy who nests in a nearby abandoned barn. Dolly seldom bothers our planes. Sometimes she will do a quick fly by just to remind you that you are in her airspace. We respect that. Other hawks sometimes visit our area. On one occasion a UMX warbird was caught and carried off never to be seen again. We have lots of turkey vultures in the area that like to thermal over our field. They tolerate our planes very well. They will usually allow us to join in and thermal with them as they circle our field. If I see one a ways off I will sometimes begin a simulated thermal ride and they will actually come and join me and that will attract others in the area to join in. These majestic creatures are the true masters of the sky. We are just amateurs.
Must’ve been Dolly 😆
@@Thercgeek most likely, she just fired a warning shot across your bow !
Before there were the UMX planes. I used to modify the Cox wings micro warbirds to 2 channels yank and bank with bluebird servos and a small coreless brushed motor and ESC. I remember the long crystal receiver antenna stringing behind. lol. They were flying bricks that could only fly fast. But they were so much fun. I actually found the P51 and F4U Corsair on eBay that I ordered to install UMX parts in it. $85 each. They were like $24.99 back then.
that’s awesome!
Brent and you are like little kids flying the umx's you can hear the joy and fun you are having with them...that is so cool.
Hahaha, you’re not wrong 😆
I just got the umx voodoo and love it!
The Voodoo is a fast little guy.
Nice!
I have the Voodoo and use the GNB 3s 380mah HV and it makes it a tad faster , I also changed the plugs to xt30
Dear the rc greek, I have a question. I have never flown before, but I have always loved RC planes, so I started looking for a plane that suited me and in the end I was helped well by an employee and I gained my experience on a Carbon Cub S2, I fly this plane both with safe and without safe optimally, so I want another plane and fly with it for about 4 months, everything is going well. So I'm no longer a beginner in my opinion :) I have 2 aircraft in mind, 1 of which is the Draco 2.0m and the other is carbon Z Trojan T-28, which of the 2 would you choose after the carbon Cub S2? please help!! :)))
If you are looking at a choice between the two, then my recommendation would be the t28 all day long. It’s a much nicer flyer than the Draco imo and more aerobatic too.
@@Thercgeek how long is the max flight time with the t28? Thank you :))
I absolutely love flying this little bad boy right outside my front door! It's so quick and snappy with a 3s and super smooth and a great trainer on 2s! I have about 20+ flights on mine and not a single crash yet. Almost forget to mention how beautiful it looks and the price.. forget about it!
Nice editing dude! Also great video!
nice looking UMX...
Fun lil fella
Excellent Video! Sorry for your Loss! Sure did sound good though! Thank You!
You may buy a RC System like JETI instead of this toy rubbish if you want to fly such aeroplanes.
🤣
My favorite plane of all time! I wish to have one as a RC pilot myself.
Ive got an f14 with outrunner, so so frustrating!! Any suggestions what is the best afterburners and where to purchase ? Thanks....
My 80mm 12-bl edf outrunner twin centerburner is ideal for the freewing tomcat! The system was designed specifically with this model in mind. 😊 www.thercgeek.com/product/80mm-CenterBurner-V2-Twin
Imagine balancing this aircraft. To make this project successful, you would need to balance and rebalance many times during construction. So much weight behind the center of gravity. Beautiful in the sky that paint job is incredible as well. Very solid performance. Incredible
Yeah, it’s takes pounds of weight in the nose
@@ThercgeekI suppose that's the issue when making a scale model of something intended to have a 2-ton engine up front, then using a much lighter brushless motor or Glo/Gas
Well flown and handles like it real and the landing in any aircraft 10/10
Above average engineering, I am in awe!
I flew Intruders from 1983 until 1994, shortly before they were retired. There was no more amazing plane to fly in the entire fleet.
Very cool! Thank you for your service!
One nice model A6 Intruder 👍
how do you replace the wing servos ????
If I recall correctly, the servos are glued into the wings. So, if you take a pair of plyers to the servo arm and start wiggling the servo, it’ll come free.
🎉🎉
Reminds of my Navy days on the carrier USS Independence CV-62.
It looks so real
One of my favorite aircraft I love it
You’ve spent so much money on the kit, engine etc… why not a pilot??
Good question. If I remember right, I think the builder had not received it yet prior to this event. It’s not my personal model, just one I enjoyed filming at an event.
Love those Mokis !
Strikers 1945 II B-29 Superfortress 1:30
Oh wipeout !!
Its so cool, it even sounds like a jet, and I know its just a smaller version with real jet engines
Very interesting. Did you record the weight of the model before and after the refinishing process? Cheers
I actually never weighed. I’ve done a bunch of refinishes like this and have found that they all tend to fly better and truer following a refinish like this. So I actually don’t worry about the weight too much.
Very nice much sir
Awesome as always. Would be cool to review the new FrSky RS Radio and tell us your thoughts about it if you get your hands on one. Thanks
Any build or internal specs/details anywhere???
All the info I have is are the specs that I outlined in the description that I got from the builder/pilot.
Scale flying
That’s a great video buddy thanks.
Glad you enjoyed it!
WAY COOL ESP. THE RADIAL ENGINE!
Good review! Looking at getting one of these. Where was this video shot at?
This was filmed out at cane ridge park. Pretty awesome spot to fly
@@Thercgeek I thought so. The green shed in the back in the beginning gave it away. Glad they mowed the field surrounding it. I put a A-10 down in the tall grass one day. Not the best place to “land” a green camo plane. That is a nice spot to fly.
