The abundance of high quality players has created a situation that Detroit has never been in, in my lifetime (80 now). Many of these people let go will end up in starting positions on other lesser teams.

Just a thought but so much is being made about Mahogany's leg length then I wonder how common is this in the broader population. Maybe it's more common than you might think but his may be just a little more than normal so gets reported on. 🤔

Too many NFL level players is a problem that I love to see. Lets hope the Lions can move a couple guys for picks rather than cut them.

You guys break it down so much better than the rest of DPL , you give reasons behind your evaluations not just laughing and moving on to make another poor evaluation that makes zero sense! Well done glad to have you back!!

The last time I saw Zylstra I was excited to see him develop. He was really coming on before he was injured and I feel he could really help us @ the WR position or with RAC yds from the TE spot. Better than an avg. receiver.

All I know is rewatching Sam LaPorta this off-season was even more encouraging... The guy is "outstanding" at blocking already in the NFL. He was charged with the task of blocking some badass dudes and most of the time (Crosby got him hehe) - he gave way more than he took! The dude is all dawg... And then rewatching him After Catch - he might be the "best in the entire damn league" at after the catch people... I'm bias as hell but damn that dude can take a hit - stay on his feet and get another 15+ yards "often"... His hands are incredible - contested catches seem personal to him - the dude is wired hotter than he lets off in interviews - he's got a fricken DEMON in him friends... Sam LaPorta is Joker LaPorta - in his first fricken year - Campbell / Johnson had him as the proverbial Joker in the Sean Payton mold. This year Joker Gibbs is coming... Check out the Joker role by researching Sean Payton. That's two Jokers on the field at once! Defenses "good luck" this year guessing what is coming your way play after play...

LaPorta has a very similar build to an old school FB named John Alstott. I would ❤ if Sam could better emulate his running style. He was a BEAST! KZread his highlights and see if you don’t agree.

Wright is a go choice! That #3 ???? I agree with you Jeff his the best of the rest Hesse !!!Big Z doesn’t block as well and we have other receivers if that’s all you want!

James Mitchell was a 5th round pick. As I recall, one analyst or another said he would have been a 3rd round pick if he hadn't been injured. I didn't watch any film, but I remember it was said Mitchell was used on trick plays at VT. Ris, you've said repeatedly that he is really slow. Something isn't matching, so I am assuming the injury he had at Virginia Tech stole whatever speed he had.

The dead cap of players that are no longer with the team is a good indicator of how a GM is performing. As a Dolphins fan it really chaps my hide to see Byron Jones still costing my team money 🤦‍♂️

I had the Guardian Caps in highschool and they weren’t too bad, was kinda nice cause it added a little more weight during practice so my helmet felt lighter during games. Didn’t notice much a difference in college when they were gone.

Good to see you both and thanks for the great banter. Sam Bradford did not truly hold out, he was signed just before the St. Louis Rams first full workout in late July of 2010 for "Holy Jeepers" money at the time ($78 million with $50 guaranteed). He used the same agent (Tom Condon) Matthew Stafford had used the year before to negotiate. Curious that this 2010 class had Ndamukong Suh, Gerald McCoy and Trent Williams all drafted in the top 10 that year and all getting plus $30 million deals. The highest paid was the worst of the lot by a wide margin. Thanks for all the good stuff.

Exactly 💯,... they are experimenting,... finding out how versatile players are in different situations. It's really up to these coaches, especially AG to pay attention and flexible blending whoever is able to play. I remember 2022,... Houston sitting,... and almost being lost until Buffalo Thanksgiving. I remember 1-6 before the turnaround. I remember watching AG excuse after excuse at the podium until he finally CHANGED his defense philosophy against DENVER. HE WAS RUNNING THE DEFENSE. THERE'S a reason he didn't get a head coach offer for this year. There are enough very good players. Pick the right players and the right schemes and don't wait for the bi week to get your shit together or Terrance Williams will be stepping in for you,... this time.

I really wish they Extended Alim this off season because I strongly believe he is going to have 10 sacks playing next to Reader and Hutch and his price is going to double from now till next year. If he ends up getting double digit sacks I’m praying we can afford to keep him.
