I love everything about this video Steve and Mason. What a special memorable trip 🏳️🌈
Mr. Steve, thanks for sharing this amazing video. I loved the Pride Parade ❤🎉 Beautiful floats, and people. Tell Mason I love the hair color. Greetings from your friend in the great Peach 🍑 State of Georgia 🍑
Kudos and Bravo, Steve! Your videography was w/o a doubt the best SF Pride footage I've found on YT. The vibrant color and clear close-up images are stellar and show off your skills and camera's quality. Happy you could share the trip with Mason and thrilling to see him draped in his big Pride flag. Happy Pride to you both!
It looks like an enjoyable experience for both of you?
Awesome parade, love it. Happy Pride 🏳️🌈
Great video. Thank you for that. I enjoyed this very much. Love the blue beard and the other guy in the shot. Cute couple/friends whatever
never been to Sacramento and was surprised to see a large active gayborhood!
I have been to the San Francisco PRIDE Parade once, it was Big Fun, but you really needed to pack a lunch for that one! So glad you had the chance to share this together, what a wonderful memory this makes. 🏳️🌈 Paul
It been shorter since 2020 use to be 6 hours before
Omg, that’s crazy! Thanks for sharing that with us! 😳😲😆
Wow what an amazing day! Felt like I was there without having to stand for 4 hours 😆 So glad y’all experienced it together! ❤🌈
lol, I know, right? It was definitely a fun and special day to remember. 🏳️🌈😄👍
Awesome video. Thank for sharing this with us. Seeing all the love for the LGBTQ community just brings me joy. 🌈🌈❤️❤️☺️☺️
Thanks for coming along Jody. It really is a day full of joy. 🏳️🌈😄👍
Wow, so that's what 2024 Pride looks like in SF. It seems so much calmer like. Decades later lol. I had just turned 24 before the Pride parade there in 1981, and it was wild and out of control (but not in a violent way) and was near the City Hall building (if memory serves me correctly) where so many people were there, lots of topless women, hardly clad men and most of the music floats had lots of main stream singers, mega Disco of course. My 1st experience with friends, one whom moved to SF from Norfolk then and the other whom flew from Va. Beach to be there. I flew from LA and missed my returning flight the next day or so after parade over sleeping from being so very tired. I'm sure you two were, lots of walking and four hours? Wow! Hope your grandson enjoyed it with you. He looked happy about it.
Hi kb, thanks so much for sharing that awesome personal memory with us. that’s really what I was expecting. I was surprised that it was so tame and so corporate and even though it was a lot of fun it was probably the most boring of all the pride parades I’ve been to over the years. It’s funny how things can change over time. I love hearing stories like yours from the past! And you remember correctly. We were near the start of the parade at the Embarcadero, but the parade ends at the Civic Center and that’s where they have the huge festival. 🏳️🌈😄👍
Did mason change his hair color? Just noticed he got his ears pierced? Looks like they had a pretty good crowd.
Yes, he died his hair blonde for the summer. In the video, it looks a little bit more on the red side, though. His ears have been pierced for years, but maybe the angle of the camera highlighted the piercings. And yes, it was a huge crowd. The estimate that there was close to 1 million people there. We were just in one very, very tiny little section at the start of the parade. 🏳️🌈😄👍
Absolutely loved this video!! Thank you so much for sharing! And good job doing all that walking for me lol. And love love love the hair Mason!!!!!!❤❤
So glad you enjoyed it d and thanks! 🏳️🌈😄👍
My cousin who was a lawyer in San Francisco when she was alive walked that exact pride parade wasn't expecting that pu*sy power flag though more power to them
nice memorable time in San Fransisco, fun watching the Pride Parade 🌈♥️ luv this
Glad you enjoyed it cath! 😄👍
Mason is so beautiful, I wish I could be his age🥰 thank you Mason and Steve for taking us with you 🏳️🌈
Wouldn’t it be fun to go back and do it again at his age? Especially knowing what we know now lol! Thanks Thomas! 🏳️🌈😄👍
Hope you had a wonderful time together. It looked pretty cool! Like you said, "a lot of firsts for Mason!" Stay safe! ☘️ PS I loved Mason wrapped in the Pride Flag!
lol he was definitely loving that flag. I think he might start sleeping with it wrapped around him! 🏳️🌈😄👍
Glad you all had a good time. Funny how that parade hasn't changed much over the years. Thanks for showing us around. Take care.
That’s interesting to know. Thanks, Maria. 😄👍
That was fun to watch. Yes, as long as I can remember the Pride Parade in SF was 4 hours starting at 10:30 am. What you captured seemed less wild and crazy than the 80's and 90's. But back then people arrived from all over the US to join the celebration. Since many Cities now have their own Pride Parades I'm guessing folks celebrate closer to home. Glad you and Mason had a fun time. Geez, hiking 10 miles in SF with so many hills! I remember taking friends and we spent the day doing about 4-5 miles and were tired.
Thanks for sharing that ER. Let’s fun to hear about the history and I think you are absolutely right about that. And I almost died on a couple of those very hilly walks lol. I will be sharing some of those walks in upcoming videos. Lots of huffing and puffing on my part! 😩😆👍
Hello!! 4 hours...long day for sure...thanks for the video Steve
Thanks, Lisa 👍
I ❤❤❤❤ Billy Porter!!! I love the parade videos, too (and of course you and Mason). Oh, and the tribute to Harvey Milk! Thank you!
Me too Sharon! Glad you enjoyed it! 😄👍
How fun..
What a great day for you to share with Mason Steve!!! Thanks for taking us along 🏳️🌈 Joan
Thanks for coming along Joan! 😄🏳️🌈👍
Happy Pride ❤️🧡💛💚💙💜🏳️🌈🏳️⚧️
Thanks, Rocky 😄👍
WOW, Good job on the editing. Looks like you both had fun. Happy Pride!!!
Happy pride, David. And yes, I was happy with myself that I was able to edit four hours down to about 15 minutes a parade lol! 😆👍
Hi Steve. I went to that parade once about 30 years ago. I said the same thing. It went on forever. It's a great experience to go.
That’s neat to know that you went too and that it hasn’t changed since way back then lol! 😆👍
❤❤❤❤❤❤
The question is....Did you go to the festival after the parade?? Even if I have friends and people I know in it, I just can't do it anymore. Too many people, too close, it feels a bit unsafe because you are so crowded. Maybe it's thinned out some since Covid, but it is always an incredibly fun time, everyone, for the most part, is happy, having a great time, friendly and welcoming. It is, for sure, something everyone should experience at least once. So many people fought so hard for their right to be accepted, to be out and be real, it is absolutely a celebration for so many.
Hi Derek, you said it beautifully. Unfortunately, by the end of the parade, I was on the verge of diarrhea and we had to get back to the hotel as fast as possible. Very bad timing. 😳😲😩
That looked like fun! I love that the furries showed up too, haha
lol there were so many Furrys there almost became a furry pride parade! 😳😆🏳️🌈👍
Hi Steve...the parade looked like fun ....fours hours is a long time .... Mason is a blonde...is he having more fun ...have a great week ..take care.... Deborah 🇨🇦
lol I think he is having more fun now as a blond! 😆👍
Steve please take you and Mason out for a Wonderful Dinner? Happy 4th to you and Mason!!
Hi Sho, I thought about you when we were up there and trying to find vegan restaurants. We were shocked how difficult it was happy fourth to you too. 🎇😄👍
Great weather for the parade this year. I live in SF and used to go every year since 1978, and sometimes it can get windy 0r foggy or too hot. Now I watch on TV. Hope you had a good visit.
Hi Andy, that’s awesome that you’ve been going since 1978! We do get very lucky and had beautiful weather for the entire weekend! 🏳️🌈😄👍
In the past, some of the parades were 5 hours and over
Omg that is crazy. Thanks for sharing that with us Spencer. 😳😲😆
Hi Steve just glad you guys Enjoy the parade and thanks again for your wonderful video ❤🌈
Thank you, Tom 🏳️🌈😄👍
Steve... Did you see the SF police in drag?
Hi Spencer, I filmed the entire parade, but they were all going by so fast that I didn’t catch that. I probably captured it on film, but I didn’t notice it when I was editing. So many fun moments. They were pointing that out. 😳😄👍
Lived in the Bay Area for 35 years, never went to the San Francisco pride parade. I may go one year, but now I’m in Florida also known as hell in more ways than one.
Hi Kristen, lol that nickname sounds about right! 😂😩👍
@@steveinpalmspringsca yeah I got that as a kid
Steve.. I wish I knew you were going to the parade, I was there also, we could have connected and watched the parade together
Hi Spencer, I mentioned that I was going to the parade in a couple of my past videos. Sorry you missed my announcement that would’ve been fun. Maybe next time! 😄🏳️🌈👍
Glad you enjoyed Pride in the city...we decided to watch the parade from of living room and avoid the crowds this year. Next time you are up for Pride, head to the Castro after the parade...the party continues.
Thanks for sharing and thanks for the heads up do! 😄🏳️🌈👍
Excellent video. I watch them on my tv on KZread.🏳️🌈❤️😊🎉😍
Thanks Kelly! 😄👍
@steveinpalmspringsca No problem, my friend. 😊
Got to march ages ago at this parade as part of the SFran Public Library contingent. It was long too. We didn't step off until over two hours after it started. I was there also as a participant of the American Library Association annual conference where we had a GLBT group within the association.
That’s awesome John. Thanks for sharing those memories with us. 😄🏳️🌈👍
Suffice to say completed two bucket list to go to an ALA annual conference and to see a large gay pride parade. Never imagined I'd get to walk in one. Tricky because of the cable car tracks.
Your grandson is gorgeous! Is he a model? There are KZreadrs that are saying there was a lot of nudity at the parade. I don't believe it. They are just haters trying to push their Maga hate agenda.
I didn’t see any nudity in the parade at all. There was a naked flasher walking around the streets before the parade, but I don’t think he was a part of the parade at all.
Scott and I used to do a lot of pride stuff in our younger years. But as we're getting older a quiet day at home is more enjoyable lol. Oh and now it means a long drive to Tampa, Orlando, St Petersburg or Gainesville for pride stuff.
Hi Todd, thanks for sharing those memories with us. I agree with you. It gets more difficult to go to these things each year. But I enjoy representing the old gays whenever possible lol! 😄🏳️🌈👍
Glad you all had a great time at the parade.... Safe travels.... Reid.
Thanks Reid 👍
Looks like a lot of fun! I lived in SF for 30 years and went to all the Pride parade celebrations. You have to come back for the Castro St. Fair in October!
Hi Ray, thanks for sharing your memories with us and thanks for the heads up. I will add that to my calendar. 🏳️🌈👍
Good morning Steve
Good morning Martha 👋
wow! That was Fantastic to watch ! And you guys took buses and subway!! I would be so lost trying to take public transportation. As I recall S.F. is a tough place to drive and park your car!
We definitely got kind of lost at times, but that was also part of the fun. Driving and parking would have been even more of a nightmare, so I just left my car in the hotel parking the entire stay, and we walked or took public transportation, the rest of the time. Thanks for watching W! 😄👍
Grandchildren are Fun....
😄👍
