Best…..Place…..Ever! For Lifts!
Those incandescent lights will be missed when they go. There's a few level crossings near me that are in the process of being upgraded as well, Really need to find the time to document those.
@@Jamie-Tane-media I agree, they certainly will be missed which is why I decided now was a good time to do a 2024 revisit of this Level Crossing.
A rails the freight powerfully driver in new zealnd trip up and down in wellington then back driver to go to palmy north one last let go down in napier from palmerston north line in Hawke's bay 🇳🇿 am living here in napier and im enjoyed look like that awsome i love on kiwirail a driver work man the cabs through way is nice that ❤🇳🇿👋👋
Great work, I especially like the shot at Pahioa with that scenery. DL 9072 actually has a pretty nice horn, I wonder if it was replaced at some point.
@@Jamie-Tane-media Cheers, the scenery around the BOP is amazing
I quite Like Kleemann's having been in quite a few of them myself. They are definitely one of the better "budget" brands out there. Have only done MRL Tractions ones in the UK though.....all the NZ examples I've been in so far have by Hydraulic, but I know that Traction ones do exist out there. Also, judging by the shame of the cabs in these, I'd say these most likely replaced some older lifts????
I agree, I’d be a bit surprised if these were hydraulics given they serve 6 floors, also this building looks like it has been refurbished as well.
as of today 14th july good to see northbound trains at feilding getting back to normal size with aratere back.
Now no longer a rideable elevator to the public.
I need to get over there and do some filming
The indicator looks so funny on level G!
1:53 6 years on, this is still the most legendary chance encounter in New Zealand 😆
I know right, can’t believe it was that long ago.
It is nice to see the EF class taking up the job without a single boring DL in the consist. That shot on the bend south of Waiouru is my favorite. Which side of Waiouru is the shot after that taken though?? Must've been going quite slow for you to catch up to 234 that soon.
I took that other shot at the northern end of Waiouru at the Waiouru bank.
trunk might be quiet for a while till the ferry is fixed.
I’ve heard about that yes
These lifts have thick stripes in the door tracks, meaning that these were Otis Black Button or Lexan from 1973

@@liftrailphotographyinnz3992Fair Enough mate
The Griswold bells are still here in 2024
Nice work! I'm new to carwash what part of NZ are you based?
7:42: Was not supposed that the superior lights are used in tunnels? Why is used as intercaled light?
Hopefully they stay in Service now, I haven’t seen one in a few weeks
So is Kiwi Rail in pretty good shape now? I think the last government spent a fair bit on the system.
Awesome coverage
Excellent captures and coverage
Cheers
You should go on the Strait Feronia and do a cideo on its elevator. I think it is an OTIS but I don't know
I don’t take requests
Have you film any lifts in Auckland New Zealand
The driver at 1:56 looked a bit too far to stop behind the barriers
Another great production Hamish. I have to go North in a week or so, might continue my 234 chase, I hope they have Ef's back on then.
Cheers John
Great shots, Always feels refreshing seeing the EF class heading trains up the trunk. Now, I have been looking through everyone's footage of the EF class post overhaul, Including my shots from the Spiral Spectacular trip, And trying to work out if the headlights really do flash in that weird pattern, Or weather it is a camera glitch, Example at 7:29... It is a very strange pattern either way....
Cheers, I think maybe they are supposed to flash like that and yes it is strange.
@@liftrailphotographyinnz3992 Looks like a glitch or maybe something to do with the pentagraphs?
I saddens me that Kiwirail cannot keep a good level of pride in their Locomotives. Some of the diesels need a bloody goot polish and a repaint, and then for staff to keep them in a cleaner outlook.
that's where i live in auckland.
a Christchurch boy here. i live in Woolston but more the other end. i am more familiar with the Ensors road crossing but drive over this one from time to time. at my age, 65, i remember from my childhood the old coal powered steam engines which we could hear from my home in Hoon Hay and my paternal grandfather was a station master at Addington when it was a station albeit only a signal box which he manually operated those were the days
Can you film more car washes I love car washes
Next time I go through one I will film it
KDS50 fixtures MX10 motor
Most definitely EPL-Kone by the door tracks and the indicator on the ground floor.
great camera shots.have subscribed to your channel.cheers, peter barrett.
happened to be in feilding this morning and noticed how quieter the crossing alarms are at kimbolton road.cheers.peter barrett.
Another great video. You also got a decent horn blast off 201 I see!!!
Cheers, that was an awesome blast I got.
Awesome shots!
Cheers
Schindler E-type chimes
Again, Im glad you managed to get that crossover shot of these two freights and an update shot to this level crossing, Despite that the weather clearly tried hard to stop you from doing so. I miss the old level crossing set up though, And I am kicking myself that I never got back to film it before hand.
Yeah the weather was not playing ball that day at all, I miss the old set up too in all honesty, the freight crossover was definitely the best in my opinion.
Wow double crossing
Wow, amazing video. The crossing has changed alot! And also, was that thunder at 4:29?
Cheers, it sure has.
And yes it was Thunder
great work.history recorded.cheers.
Glad you enjoyed it
Great stuff, Despite the weather being crap south of Waiouru, You still managed to get some great shots. The day defiantly was a success in my books and it is great we can document such events, This is a day I will forever cherish for being one of the best trips I did.
Cheers, great memories were made from the day, the weather was definitely confused that day it was like four seasons in one day.
@@liftrailphotographyinnz3992 Except snow. Snow is something I am still yet to get on film. Haha
@@Jamie-Tane-media winters coming.great shots on central plateau.😁
@peter-sr2pb Yes I will have to see if I can get the chance to go back up.
why would you tow a DA there and back
Looking forward to it mate.
Sadly I guess that means those Safetran e-bells days are numbered then... I would be suprised if they replaced the new WCH e-bells with Safetran ones, Although I would much prefer it.
Same here
Why has this crossing got both E bells
I honestly don’t know, it’s weird
Kiwirail obviously forgot about they already have Safe tran bells on the Crossing
hope you get travel allowanve.good shots.cheers.peter barrett.
Nice one!
Cheers
I love the Safetran Type Three E Bells and the western collen Hayes E bells
Annoying wind blows. It can't become worse.
