I kinda wish there were less cheesy mechanics and weapons in the game. I started my first playthrough, being my first souls game, after having not played videogames for a year or 2, a few months back. I made a warrior and played melee only, just kinda assuming that's how it was meant to be played. I didn't, and still don't really know how any of the magic and summoning stuff worked, so I just moved on thinking this is the intended way. To say I had a rough time is an understatement. I'm generally decent at videogames and usually can pick up on stuff quick, but holy shit. This games fucking hard. I was most of the way though my playthrough when a friend showed me his playthrough. He was using a bunch of magic and cheesed his way through like half the bosses I struggled on. Idk, it just made me mad. The game points you towards playing it in, what I learned later, is like the toughest way to play it. Everyone kept telling me "its not that hard, idk why your struggling", and me saying it's melee only, them saying, "oh, yeah i never played that way. I just abuse summons and magic". And now, we're going to feel the wrath of people playing that way and saying how easy it is. Smh

I swear the game was balanced for you to use summons, they are there to be used. Playing without it is fun but it's just pure bs and unfair really. The 'hard but fair' motto is just gone in Elden ring

My girlfriend claimed for the longest time she couldn’t tell the difference between 30 and 60 fps. She played mostly on her Switch and lower end PC. When she eventually got her PS5 and an upgraded PC I asked her if she noticed a difference at all with the hardware. Defiantly she still said no! But then, later when she picked up her Switch again she asked me what was wrong with her because the games felt choppy now. And now she finally understands the drug that is high fps.

Matty's interview was near perfect. It only had one big blunder. While people were fixating on the $7 Starfield quest, what they including MrMattyPlays missed was that Fallout 76 went full pay to win with the Skyline Valley update. You can now swipe your credit card to rank 150 of the season pass and directly buy power in the form of perk coins. Todd Howard accidentally brought it up himself thinking that Matty was talking about it, but Matty was oblivious. In the video you can hear Todd Howard say, you know? The rank ups. Todd didn't know that Matty didn't know.

People will always move the goalposts with these games to make themselves feel superior. That's all it is really, internet dudes wanting to feel superior about random things. I've seen people say leveling anything except damage is cheating, using Dex and not strength is cheating, using too many potions is cheating and a million more things to make others playthroughs a looks worse than their own. Just play whatever you find fun and don't listen to random people you'll never meet

I think the difference in feel between the reveal trailer and the later trialers is that the later trailers were post Bethesda purchase. It feels like Avowed was originally intended to be an Xbox exclusive answer to giant multiplatform franchises games like The Elder Scrolls made by a studio that has a rivalry with Bethesda. After Bethesda was brought into the Xbox family, Obsidian was probably directed to avoid comparisons between Avowed and Elder Scrolls. The plan changed along with the commercial landscape.

I honestly don't really have an issue with companies charging obsurd amounts for games. I make inform purchases for the most part when it comes to games. If they charged 100$ for gta6 and it was truly an amazing game I don't really mind. On the other hand I wouldn't even spend 45$ on a new ubisoft game. There are multiple games I own that I would spend full price to continue to play if they were somehow taken away from me. People will waste hard earned dollars on horrible games meanwhile terraria costs less than a meal and mgs5 is ultra discounted everywhere. Most 70$ games aren't even close to worth that much money. If they start charging more money for these shovelware titles I'll be completely unaffected. Just like with anything in life, do your research, measure the actual costs and impact that your purchase will make and simply just don't be an idiot. If games charged by quality then Elden ring would be worth over a million dollars and the new assassin's Creed would probably be paying you to play it

Well the devs literally added spirit ashes to make the game more accessible. So yes it is the 'easy mode'. (This was in an interview ages ago) If you want to get back into it, just dont do co-op, torrent helps you get around and enhances exploration. No torrent truely worsens the experience. As for spirit ashes, use them to learn fights. Like to reach a phase 2 sooner to learn the p2 moves. Or clear a camp easier. That helps you and keeps you engaged.

I prefer 60fps and someone that's never seen a computer game before would see a difference instantly, especially an FPS game or even a third person game as the animation is so much smoother. To say 30 is the end of a game is trash however. Saying that, if a game could have been 60 but the developers chose reflections in some water or a slightly nicer skybox then that's what I call out.

Tbh I don’t care much for graphics. Some of the best games I’ve ever played have “bad bad graphics” and some of the worst I’ve play have good graphics. I care more about game design and art DIRECTION with a unique style like borderlands or ac brotherhood both old games that still hold up today graphically thanks to a unique art direction.

Ship sailing is a thing in Skyrim mods. I think there are a few of them. They're closer to row boats because Skyrim is mostly rivers and lakes but they work so it is possible to do in the engine
