I have a doll fact! There was a South Korean equivalent of the second generation Licca-chan doll that was made in 1981 called Lala, and she was made by Dae-il Toys (now known as Mimi World). The doll also had a red magnetic stand with white roses, similar to the Pretty Lisa doll. In 1982, the fashion doll Mimi was introduced, and it was a South Korean equivalent to the Jenny doll (previously known as Takara Barbie) and the Lala doll was later discontinued.
@HaveYouHeardDollsАй бұрын
Love it! It's interesting that Mimi is still around and Lala was phased out, while in Japan, Jenny was phased out a few times. I wonder if there are cultural preferences (did SK kids want something more mature) or if Mimiworld, like other toy companies, thought a Barbie sized toy would be more acceptable to parents since there are more outfit options on the market.

The happy family line :)
