    a video detailing the racism and colorism in doll production would be interesting… but it would also be very complex since the problem is either overlooked and ignored or is finance-related instead of being due to a company/brand’s lack of morals (except for rainbow high lol !!!)

    There’s a simple answer. Black dolls simply do NOT sell well in certain countries with a very low or nonexistent black population. It’s marketing.

    Actually, MGA filed a lawsuit on Mattel first due to similarities between Myscene and Bratz dolls. After that, Mattel counter-sued due to evidence that Carter Bryant was under contract with them while working for MGA. Just wanted to clarify that.

    As much as I love Bratz and their sister franchaises , Barbie's Top Model is way prettier , MGA just doesn't know how to make like more realistic type of doll if you could say it that way , theyre better at making more cartoonic type of dolls like bratz and lol omg.

    Oh my goodness I sure do have a GREAT idea Well a couple The Barbie Basics 2009- But one more fascinating is the Top Model Barbie line They just came out of nowhere in 2006 and forever captured my young teen self!😆 It was so short lived but was some of Mattel's FINEST work

    I remember having the Swimwear Paisley and Sidney, and the Day 2 Night Paisley. I do like them, don’t get me wrong. But I prefer the Top Model Barbie dolls if I’m honest. Also, I wish they released the Tascha doll 😫

    The Tascha prototypes looked so gorgeous. I personally liked the Top Model Barbie dolls better too - the final face screenings for the ANTM dolls left a lot to be desired. The Sienna dolls especially looked a bit fish eyed in production.

  • @4everbratz

    @4everbratz

    @@HaveYouHeardDolls Yeah, the official releases of the ANTM were a little struggle-bus, especially Sienna. But they did have a lot of potential, but considering MGA had a lot of stuff going on during this time, it’s understandable that they didn’t last long. Also, I believe a doll line based on a show like this is somewhat jarring considering ANTM hasn’t aged well (even though it’s iconic)

    it is also very interesting to see how companies fight !!! i’d never think companies would want to copy their enemy’s product or try to confuse the consumer to buy their product by tricking them into thinking it’s the product of their competitor 😵‍💫

    It's definitely a thing even to this day with the whole controversy around the L.O.L. OMG and Barbie Extra dolls. I remember hearing back in the day that some confused grandparents would pick up My Scene dolls for their grandkids as Christmas gifts since they didn't know the difference between Bratz and My Scene (or because the Bratz dolls were selling out quickly and they thought the My Scene dolls were close enough).

    I would really like to see a story about the Sindy doll that is also known here in Brazil as -Susie made by Estrela. They acquired the Cindy doll molds back in the 1960s and during a small-time, they stoped making when Estrela got the rights to make Barbie during the 1980s and early 1990s, and after Mattel came here to Brazil they went back to make Susie Dolls during most of the 1990s and early 2000s. Ive seen that due to nostalgia they started making some Sindy dolls in foreign countries, and Estrela did a special edition of the Susie Doll.

  • @tonstotch
    @tonstotch Жыл бұрын

    Did it all start because someone send a letter for a CEO saying they were something negative was going to exposed, from a factory in other continent who has worked for both of them? I grew up hearing about someone breaking a production contract and that Bratz was a Mattel idea, but that someone has sell it for MGA on an illegal way, someone called Carter Bryant, that I only found out the name now, LMFAO, all this confusion could have been avoided with a simple meeting, perhaps, but brands have always disputed and exchanged shades between them and we know who started and still does this even with other companies, it's more about who wins this area of capitalism and consumerism in the world! So the truth is Mattel has tried to wipe out MGA and "steal" Bratz after rejected it just because their different design after being processed first, I really understand somethings for both sides about breach of contract and this expensive dispute, but trying to relive something terrible is sad and we all know the true truth. I love Barbie, I love Bratz (I prefer Rainbow High more) and I love Bild Lilli, the first ever fashion doll, now can we enjoy both or more and have fun collecting all them. I was never a big fan of My Scene and much less Dream Ella, but I loved this happy ever after at 2010 and i hope it's never going to happen again making the brands learn a good lesson for each others for don't try destroy anymore by cruel ambitions.
