    Too bad it doesn't work. Bought one a while ago. The light didn't work at all on it. Returned it but took a new one. The new one worked for about two weeks. Then it stoped. Sometimes the lamp lit up if I stood and waved my hand in front of the censor. However, most of the time I had to turn it on manually. But now even that has stopped working. Changing the battery didn't help either. Swedish junk products.

    This is awesome! My island is almost exactly like yours, so i’m simply following this step by step😂 a question regarding the power socket though. Is it simply a cut through and then placed over the socket or did you extend the socket somehow to make it line up so perfectly through the hole?

    Instead of screwing on the mount things, could I use double sided tape to hold the light strip up? I’m renting and my current wardrobes came with my room, but they’re so dark. Just not allowed to damage the furniture 😢

    Trouble with tape is you need to recharge the batteries, which involves removing the unit to access the battery compartment, which frustratingly is on the side you attach to the wall or ceiling. So tape would work as long as you don’t mind replacing it every time you recharge, which for me would be a real pain.

    Great inspiration, thanks for this video. Only wee bit of criticism - there's no way of drilling holes in the floor of a rented place. I'd have put the cabinets on wheels with stoppers instead.

    🤣 Sorry for laughing, but what the heck is the hack? Sawing a part out of the baring construction? Use one of their flexible wasteconnections: they developped it for exactly this problem.

    Great engineering work! One important thing - all cut edges (especially plywood ones) should be better protected with wood glue or silicone.

    So the wooden part of the support bracket (5:31) doesn't touch the floor? Ohh I was wondering why its height was lower than the minimum height of the legs.

  • @thezfunk
    @thezfunk Жыл бұрын

    The angle brackets hold it to the floor. Once the wooden block it is loosely screwed to the angle bracket, you slide it up to meet the bottom of the cabinet base and then tighten up the screws. This allows you to screw through the cabinet base into the wooden block.

    This is really clear and helpful. Thank you, I am just about to build something like this. However, I have one question. Is there an alternative to fixing it to the floor? I would like to avoid drilling into the floor. My unit will be a little large and include a narrow wine fridge. I wonder whether the weight is sufficient to keep it stable. I would be grateful of any thoughts. Thanks.

    Why did you ruin the tiles by drilling in them instead of getting two more feet for the rear? It wouldn’t be able to tilt anyhow because the sink is fixed.
