    I'm trying to install that light over my sink and cannot do it, I feel like the battery part is too heavy and it's not steady, every touch and it falls 😮 Clearly I'm doing something wrong cause that looks so steady!

    Why doesn't the light stay on when I put it in the "on" position. After approximately 10 minutes the lights go out. Then I can put the switch off and then back on and usually it goes on but I want it on for longer. The batteries are new. Help!

  • @simplehomediy8888

    That is strange, i just tested mine and left it in ON position more than 30 minutes and it didnt turn off by itself. Maybe try with new batteries and if that doesnt help then it has to be faulty unit, take it back to IKEA.

    Instead of screwing on the mount things, could I use double sided tape to hold the light strip up? I’m renting and my current wardrobes came with my room, but they’re so dark. Just not allowed to damage the furniture 😢

    Trouble with tape is you need to recharge the batteries, which involves removing the unit to access the battery compartment, which frustratingly is on the side you attach to the wall or ceiling. So tape would work as long as you don’t mind replacing it every time you recharge, which for me would be a real pain.

    The light didn't come on immediately when the right door was opened. It did once the left door was opened. Curious where the sensor is and how it is triggered. (Light, air pressure, motion?) Thanks.

  • @simplehomediy8888

    @simplehomediy8888

    There is a sensor in the middle of the device, just where 2 doors split. With a brighter day the light turns on with just opening one door. I suppose the sensor is just needs to detect more than a set threshold of light to turn on, it can not be adjusted.

    I just don't get one thing why outside light to be there when I open the cabinet? what if I open the cabinet in complete darkness, I feel still the cabinet light should turn on? I don't think this relies on outside light rather on close proximity sensor...

  • @simplehomediy8888

    @simplehomediy8888

    Too bad it doesn't work. Bought one a while ago. The light didn't work at all on it. Returned it but took a new one. The new one worked for about two weeks. Then it stoped. Sometimes the lamp lit up if I stood and waved my hand in front of the censor. However, most of the time I had to turn it on manually. But now even that has stopped working. Changing the battery didn't help either. Swedish junk products.
