Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль

Timelapse of IKEA kitchen island/peninsula build.
Please find all IKEA products used in the list below.
Sorry about missing some parts of the build, for example assembly of the drawers. Some footage got lost but i'm happy i was able to save some and put together this video :)
Here are timecodes for the different steps during the build:
00:00 Step 1: Building base cabinets
01:55 Step 2: Attaching base cabinets together
02:15 Step 3: Cutting and installing support boards, this makes it easy to attach cover panels later
03:35 Step 4: Attaching cover panels
04:37 Extra step: Cutting hole for power socket into the side of base cabinet
05:00 Step 5: Drilling holes and anchoring kitchen island to the floor with support bracket
05:51 Step 6: Installing plinths/toe kicks
06:00 Step 7: Sanding oak table top with steel wool (oak table top was not from IKEA)
06:12 Step 8: Applying oil (I used Osmo TopOil)
Sidenote: In the finished photo the base cabinet legs have been moved outwards so the plinths/toe kick are not that far in under the cabinet. It gave the kitchen island a better look overall.

This is awesome! My island is almost exactly like yours, so i’m simply following this step by step😂 a question regarding the power socket though. Is it simply a cut through and then placed over the socket or did you extend the socket somehow to make it line up so perfectly through the hole?

This is really clear and helpful. Thank you, I am just about to build something like this. However, I have one question. Is there an alternative to fixing it to the floor? I would like to avoid drilling into the floor. My unit will be a little large and include a narrow wine fridge. I wonder whether the weight is sufficient to keep it stable. I would be grateful of any thoughts. Thanks.

This looks like exactly what I need to finish my kitchen. Where did you get the worktop and what size is it? Also, I assume you just used decorators filler for the holes in the open cabinet?

For the holes i used these cover caps from Ikea: www.ikea.com/gb/en/p/variera-cover-cap-white-00226315/ Worktop i got from a local shop, cut to order. Size is 44 by 144 cm (about 17 by 57 inches)

How did you saw the back cover panels to 80x80cm to match one metod? (cause the size at ikea are never 80cm?) thx for the video!

I used 2 metod cabinets, one 60cm wide and one 80cm wide. For the cover panels i used 3 61.5x80cm panels, 2 full lenght ones side by side (didnt have to cut them at all) and narrow strip from the third one against the wall.

So the wooden part of the support bracket (5:31) doesn't touch the floor? Ohh I was wondering why its height was lower than the minimum height of the legs.

The angle brackets hold it to the floor. Once the wooden block it is loosely screwed to the angle bracket, you slide it up to meet the bottom of the cabinet base and then tighten up the screws. This allows you to screw through the cabinet base into the wooden block.

Great inspiration, thanks for this video. Only wee bit of criticism - there's no way of drilling holes in the floor of a rented place. I'd have put the cabinets on wheels with stoppers instead.
