Gonna try this out.. looks like the best possible solution!
Hello, can someone please share a working file?
Another great tip thanks 😀
Any time! Glad you found it useful :-)
@@CNCModellerUK I've just bought a Novamill and Novaturn so lots of interesting things on your channel. 😄
Awesome, it took me a while to get mine reliable. They are very sturdy for little desktop machines. Hope everything goes well!
You’ll find lots of useful information here: www.denfordata.com/bb/
@@CNCModellerUK thanks 😀
Great video! Is there any news on this??
Hiya @creativitybyph, there are several later videos this is the latest with it printing. It’s currently being upgraded with a heated bed and better closed loop feedback. I’ve not been well recently and work has been very busy so progress is slow. Hope to start posting again soon. kzread.info/dash/bejne/n4Cuk9h9es7Ml9Y.htmlsi=bq0xnzB8mxGQ0sb0 Polar Printer kzread.info/head/PLWjZVEdMv1BY82izahK45qKh-hp3NFkix
@@CNCModellerUK I have started thinking of a polar3D printer, about the same size but based on a RatRig V-Minion. Just to print vases and lamps with lager nozzles
Duet 3Ds RRF supports polar out of the box albeit if you are considering a build you need to factor in being able to tram in the rotary axis I have a system that allows me to do this but it’s inherent in the structural design. My target is large model aircraft which are essentially big tubes too. Good luck with your project!
Very useful here in Canada.
Glad it was helpful!
Thanks for the useful vid.
Glad it was helpful!
Isn't there an automated way to do this?
I’ve not looked for ages probably not that’s free that’s free…
Everyone is saying how simple this is, but I don't understand at all lol. Where is the video shared to? Their email? Patreon? KZread? Sorry, I'm new to all this.
Video is uploaded to KZread and you give your members access by allowing them to see it on KZread before it goes live. You grant them access by them having a KZread account with the same email as their patreon account.
@@CNCModellerUK Thank you! Do you know if setting a video to "premiere" affects this? Because I know when I have a video set to premiere, even I myself can't watch on youtube in my content section until it premieres. So I'm wondering this function would interact with premieres?
To be honest I haven’t used this for a few years so I don’t know how it interacts with YT today, apologies
@@CNCModellerUK no worries, thanks for all the other info!
Thanks 😊
You're welcome!
hey bud did you ever get an issue with your Z axis plate randomly giving out and dropping mid print? I cant fix it or find info about it for my life
Sorry never heard of that, perhaps you have an intermittent issue with your z axis stepper driver loosing power?
@@CNCModellerUK i believe thats what it is! thank you for the pointer and quick reply
Glad I could help…
So this is what smart people look like
Can you send the file in Stl?
Sorry the files are licensed by Plane Print so you’re going to have to buy them from them.
Is there any way I could get a set
Hi, this is very old content and I don’t have the source files any more due to a hard disk failure. I will likely update this with a new design in the coming years but unfortunately it’s not a priority at the moment. Thanks for the interest all the same… :-)
I would like to purchase a set of your braiding machine parts please.
Excellent guide sir! Even for someone who only has 2 Fusion 360 tutorials under my belt this was not to difficult to follow.
Did it ever fly?
Briefly yes, however the thrust line was way off and I wasn’t able to land it safely. Planeprint have released an updated motor head with much more nose down on the thrust line that’d probably have made the maiden flight much less difficult… it put me off modelling for quite a while but I’m slowly getting back into it :-)
👍👍👍
You have the 1mm transition radius centred on the PLD. It should be on the circle defining the top of the teeth. I think that's why you had to fudge the connection in your first video.
That's one awesome video, thanks man
Glad you found it useful! 👍
Great stuff. Luv the good use of parametrics. I was unable to replicate (update did not work when changing number of gears) I tried many things but what worked for me was to project three circles that represent the arcs onto a new sketch then and mirror them across the 1/2 ToothAngle line. Unfortunately a bit of a pain to select multiple profiles. I'm quite sure there is a better way.
This is a really old approach now, I'm guessing that how Fusion works has changed so it may be that it's more optimal to use your way. At least it's working for you now! 😁
Can they still watch the early video through Patreon though
This process is based on only uploading to KZread. If you want to upload it to Patreon of course that would work as normal.
Thanks for the help it finally holds air! I took a heat gun with a few drill bits up in size to cram into the line with heat. Expanded the line a bit and boom! Holds air way better. I also tried the electrical tape since why not but found it to be not as useful. Thanks again!
Glad it helped...👍
Just trying this now - hoping it works. Thanks for the video, and for getting 'straight to the point' - hugely appreciated!
No worries, not sure if they've changed anything since I did this video. Please let me know if it still works!
Thank you so much for this video! I learned so much!
Great news! I'm glad you found it useful 😁
Thank you so much, I'm hoping this trick will save me the several hours of replacing an airline passthough port on a semi-truck
I tried the example and it is working fine. I ran into problems when trying to generate a pulley with more than 40 teeth. It says PulleyTeeth failed. PulleyTeeth is the name of the sketch generating the teeth. I have not done the combination of all the teeth to be more flexible in parameterizing the pulley. Any idea where this can come from?
Unfortunately I've not looked at this for a long time so I can't remember off the cuff. Sorry.
Hey, great video. Is it possible to ask what you did to achieve very good print results with this printer? Im using ReplicatorG but im not satisfied and before updating my board and eventually bricking i want to ask if you have some easy tips. Thank you very much
I've just converted the D4s to a duet 2 control card, and the print results are much improved. The original board firmware had many settings baked in and couldn't be tuned, print quality was never great but usable for mechanical parts. The water cooling made a big difference for printing ABS in a closed chamber with high nozzle and bed temperatures. Filament stripping in the extruder gear was much less likely. Good luck with your upgrade, hope it goes well. All the best Barry M
I'm going to give this a go. I have replaced the push fit elbow on my trucks rear air bag and still leaks slightly. Thanks
Hope it all goes well!
Great build. Im thinking of transplanting this onto my Starmill. Possibly a little smaller but the same sort of thing. Any chance you have the models? If theyre on denford data i cant find them as yet
I'm pretty sure that the drawings are on Denford data but I can't find them. I've found that the Denford support team are sometimes amenable as the pars are no longer available so they might send you the drawings or at least post them in the form if you ask nicely. I'd drop them an email. Hope it all goes well 🙂
Very nice sir csn you give me the drawing and dimensions for ATC
Drawings can be found on the Denford data forum. Next time I am at my pc I'll try to find the links...
Thanks so much for this excellent solution. I had a small leak at the push fitting on the hot water outlet in an RV. After swapping out the tubing with no success, figured it had to be the o-ring inside the fitting. After calling all local plumbing suppliers looking for a new fitting, again with no success, I found your video. It worked perfectly. Thanks again. The Happy Camper.
Would love to chat. I notice you do not have it in the middle. We have the 0,0 singularity issues fixed on the one we are working on.
I'm using RRF which manages the singularity behaviour but it's still better to keep away where possible...
What slicer do you use
I used to use Simplify 3D but have moved to Cura recently. The polar kinematics are provided by the Duet control board firmware configuration.
Thanks for actually putting the answer in your video. too bad this hasn't gotten many watches. very helpful. Many other how to videos ask you to go to a paywall for the info.
Glad you found it useful!
Love the Idea would like to talk more if you have time.
Happy to chat, haven't worked much on this since it's I'll fated first flight. I'm upgrading the printer before re printing the replacement parts.
This is so simple. Thank you!
No worries. Glad you found it useful! :-)
Very helpful, very concise. Anyone who makes these one minute tutorial videos is a legend.
Thanks, glad you found it useful! :-)
Very well done !
Many thanks :-)
Help: Does anyone have the drawings for a GT5 timing pulley ?
Sorry I don't. Google is your friend...
thanks for the vid, had to replace the outer x-axis on my d5, kinda tempted to just drill a hole on the outer case.... but hopefully i wont have to do it again.
Glad you found it useful!
I just wasted 2 fkn hours on the previous tutorial and it was perhaps the worst tutorial Ive ever seen. You need to stop torturing people.
Found my way here from hackaday
Well you vasically dont need an upper surface to create. There is a function in "Extrusion", wher you can set the extrusion to punsh through a solid body, and its callet "To All" you can set it ti stop on the outside if the Wing, " on Object" or " to all" when you set it to " to all", you can type in an offset, that resambles the with of you outer surface. So you basically need only your wing and your Inner structure. But be aware, the inner structure you have drawn, has to be within the surface of of your wing, so dont draw it outside of your wing area.
I’ve been tinkering for years and never saw how powerful parameters were until now.
youre talking to yourself, not to listeners...hardly to understand what youre saying...
Wow! That is weird that it requires that just to make it early access. I just wish I could just upload directly to Patreon instead. Well I can by just uploading the video file itself as an Attachment to a post, but it's still weird. How do you have Patrons? I have more Subscribers than you but no Patrons. There is something you are doing right when it comes to Patreon I think.
Back along I was posting once a week and had quite a lot of traffic and picked up a handful of subscribers. Doing things like early access and publicising your patrion in your video alongside like and subscribe helps. My patrion has fallen by the wayside at the moment but if I get back to regular content I'm sure it'll come back.
can someone please share a file with the final result in it?
Nice job. Soon the maiden flight i hope
Thanks. Hopefully this weekend... :-z
Thank you for sharing.
No worries! :-)
