The concept of appreciating our lives just as they are is so rare. As people we focus on what is missing while ignoring all God gives. A few years ago, during Thanksgiving, I was complaining about the warm weather, since it didn’t feel like fall, and my brother said “At least we aren’t snowed in and able to be together”. From that point I vowed to make a better effort to not complain about the often VERY sunny, Southern California weather as it’s where God has me and it is good. Funny enough the next year it was too cold to have Thanksgiving outside. God has a good sense of humor.
I’ve got a gold mirror on my console table along with a lamp, some frames and a vase. I just love that space. I would like to add more gold accents around the house as I believe it elevates your space to antique elegance. ❤
Relating our production and creativity to God's creation of our universe made me reflect and choose to enjoy what I have done and can do. Thank you, Nikki, for this perspective. 💖 Also, I love the new mantel color. It is soft and yet makes a beautiful statement. 🩷💖🩷

Hi Nikki, to make the subject of God's rest even more complex and profound is that it's mentioned 7 times as you said. The biblical meaning of 7 is completion. Here is a little joke: We are 7 in my immediate Family and my Mom also said it was good enough. We humans classify excellent as better than good and perfect as "most desirable" which is a burden. God mentions the word "it was so, it was good and it was very good." Seems God was very careful not to say it was complete. I think that it's because he knew that everything in this world would constantly change and sometimes not for the better making it incomplete. Completeness we can only find when we finally get our glorified body. While we wait, we have to learn to know when it is good enough to move along. Perfect is overrated...😁

Thank you for this reminder. I've forgotten to do this lately. On another note, I love your life book and I did purchase one, but find I don't use it because of the binding. I would love if it was spiral bound.
My friend prefers spiral bound as well so she had that done with hers.

I do appreciate my home, especially after doing some housework (homemaking}. There is satisfaction in seeing the results of our work, no matter how trivial. I enjoy knowing that the rooms have been dusted and the floors attended to, or a clean bathroom, etc. Taking a moment to pause and to express my gratitude to God for all that my husband and I have, is a part of my daily routine. God’s blessings are not the car or house that you wanted, although they can be, they are the beauty in a rainy day as well as a sunny one. Don’t minimize that meal on your table or the lighting in your rooms. It is everything. I once had a spontaneous conversation with a Hobby Lobby employee. I don’t know how it started but we were both cheerful and uplifted. She told me that it drives her son crazy that she is so positive. She smiled and said that she tells him, (often), “ there is always a silver lining.” I took that to heart. To me that “silver lining” is seeing the positive in what may be a disappointing and/or challenging situation. There is always light after the darkness, sun after the rain, joy after sorrow. As you’re saying, there is always something to feel grateful for. To be alive ,with God by our side, in His wonderful, beautiful world is the best one. Take care. 🤗
