Hi Spurgeon piper, GOD bless you brother! I have a question for you, I want to try the cult blood moon tobacco but I am put off by the imagery on the tin! Just wondering what you think? Should a Christian support a product that displays negative iconography? I defer to your wisdom sir.
Please stop using Ronson butane for those lighters! Spend the extra $1.50 for at least a 5x filtered butane to keep the jets clean. You don't have to get the expensive super filtered butane, but anything is better than the unfiltered Ronson.
Man I love the look of these but I hear they are finicky and need repairs. I think I’ll stick with my zippo which I love to use and it’s almost bulletproof. People complain about the taste but I think that’s overrated. You do have to fill them often, but there’s no perfect solution here. You can use a bic lighter but it’s not very elegant. Matches are probably best for taste but they’re terrible to use when relighting alot or if there’s wind. Me personally I like the zippo pipe lighter. It’s a generational piece of good quality that feels good and is nice to use. Who doesn’t love that zippo sound?
I am getting ready to try a pipe again after many years. Here's my take from my experience 40 years ago on pipe tobacco: If it is flavorful, it stinks; if it is not flavorful, it is aromatic. I need a beginner's tobacco that has some flavor but doesn't stink as I smoke indoors most of the time while working. Suggestions, please? Nice channel; I subscribed and will hit some other videos soon.
I too, am a Christian dad, who smokes a pipe, and homeschools my children... amazing.
Wow, you really know you've found a very specific niche when you're looking to get into pipe smoking and the first video is by a Reformed channel haha. Even if the name wasn't referencing C.H. Spurgeon, Berkhof's Systematics would have immediately caught my attention. May God be with you, brother
Thank you brother!
As a beginner filters were good because it kept me from getting a tongue bite or bitter flavor from smoking too hot or too fast. Still use them sometimes depending on the tobacco
I bought a zippo with the pipe insert. I love using a zippo and playing with them. The Peterson lighter is pretty slick though. I definitely like the look but I don’t want it if it’s finicky. I love the long stem bic lighters too for reliability and convenience but it cheapens the experience of pipe smoking for me. I love using wood matches but only when indoors or where there is no wind at all which is very rare.
I have 3 pipe lighters. Bought a zippo pipe insert, I have a $15 Captain Black refillable Gas light I got off Pipes and Cigars webpage, and an IM corona pewter pipe lighter with all the different pipe shapes on it that I received as a gift a long time ago. The zippo insert I couldn’t seem to pull the flame down enough to get an even light, the IM I still have packed away,so the Captain Black lighter is the one I prefer to use. It’s a soft flame lighter. Long neck Bic lighters are good , if you can find them but there are some refillable long neck ones as well
I'm right there by you with the microwave quick prep method 👍 Works great, Thank you sir for another good one
When you opened the tin and took the bag out, it didn’t look like it was vacuum sealed at all. I would assume unless you’re an extremely fast smoker, this would need to be jarred?
I had already opened it. It was vacuumed sealed originally
I recognize that tobacco valet 😁
Good eye!
Sounds like a good blend. Thanks for sharing!
You bet
Thanks for the review! Of the ones you’ve looked at in this series, this one I’ll grab for sure
Appreciate your experience with hard work. Just unsubscribed. GawdSpeed.
@thespurgeonpioer I’m getting into aeromatics and been smoking them out of a Cobb. I’m wanting a dedicated Bryan pipe in your opinion what’s best for aeromatics? Thank you sir!
This one’s been on my radar for awhile. Do you know of any stronger flavored aros, peach or otherwise ?
Not peach. Sutliff 's Vanilla Custard is fairly strong.
Solid review. Thanks
Have loved your series on summer blends...have not tried any yet but have made notes for blends to try! Thank you God Bless you and yours
I am looking over your books. I didn't recognize any of them. Do you smoke any codger blends?
Occasionally. Captain Black
Good Evening Pastor 😊 Awesome Review👌🏽 Thanks For Sharing 👏🏼 Your Thoughts are Much Appreciated 🤗 Have a Blessed Day & God Bless You 🙏🏽 Greetings From South Africa 🇿🇦
i do love this blend, simple and wonderful to smoke. made a video myself on this one and seems to be one of my most popular videos.
Sounds like a good blend. Thanks for sharing Wilson. Happy smokes
did ja say cancer?
I’m a new pipe smoker who’s wanting to get into aeromatics. I’ve had Cult Blood Red Moon out of a Cobb. I’m wanting an aeromatic dedicated pipe and am considering a Savanelli 892 or Peterson 03. Any recommendations on an aeromatic pipe would be appreciated. Thank you sir
I bought some of this because of your review and I’m really enjoying it. This is the first Sutliff blend that I’ve tried.
Glad to hear it!
I need the info on that coffee mug. Care to share?
Right here in my store: spurgeonpiper.creator-spring.com/
Fellow 1689 brother in the DFW area here. Really appreciate you sharing your story. Praise God for his faithfulness and may he cause you to prosper!
Thank you brother!
I’m struggling to keep my pipe lit lately…very frustrating and annoying…
Personally when I'm going for clean and innocent mask I tend to use a decant of Vodka on the ice or similar scents to this. That shit works so well. But if you're dealing with some real strong tobacco odor, use a woods heavy scented fragrance as its likely to blend with the odor discreetly enough to confuse a crowd. Nice video. the pastor context made this quite grounding.
Another hypocritical "Christian", so much for Body is a Temple
Hello not to be negative but I myself can't handle fruity tobacco's.
I like these reviews… by any chance, are any of the Caribbean Blue tins by Kohlhase & Kopp on your list??
Thanks. Unfortunately no. I wasn't aware of them till after my order
Wow really cool video. I recently spoke to my grandfather and he has about 15-20 pipes. Personally I don’t own any but I’m hoping to inherit 1 pipe. As a kid, I remember and still remember the smell of his black cherry tobacco. One of my favourite smells ever. It just seems so relaxing and signifies to me, to remember to take 45 min or so a day to have time for yourself, relax, and take in your surroundings. Which is why I would like to start to smoke a pipe.
What’s up with that tin art? It’s Beelzubub?
I’ve just recently within the past few months been getting into nonaromatic tobaccos, and Early Morning Pipe, is my favorite as of right now.
great video, if you're new, this is excellent help with a lot of great information. . . now, on to a more serious note . . . great job on the books! I may have tried to see what's on the shelf better . . . okay, I looked really hard. :)
I don't microwave, I let sit out in air for 10 min (but I live w/ no humidity)
Good lord please don't turn out to be like the pipe cottage guy i really like your channel
😂
I think you would like the Black, it’s great. Not an Aromatic.
I’m getting ready to order some 1Q and smoke it out of my Cobb. The only thing been smoked out of it is cult blood red moon. Will it be ok to smoke out of it or will cult ghost it? New piper here. Thank you!
99% of what you review is not sold in my country but I save these anyway just in case come across one during travels. Some reviews of yours stand out and really make me want to try it, and this one is one of them! I'm sold 😄
It's interesting how it comes across for you. I've only had 1 bowl and the proportion of latakia that one bowl must have been much higher because the bowl I had was very latakia forward. It's going to be interesting to have more and hopefully, I'll get more of the experience you're getting. Great review as always. Thanks
I've been curious of it, ill have to give it a shake. I do enjoy cashews
Solid review. Id be interested to know if you like petersons nutty cut.
Loved this review, I have never smoked this one. Loved that you stated what you didn't like but did say if someone was looking for something with the nut tasting it could be perfect for them. All our pallates/tastes are different.
As both a pipe and cigar smoker, I really don't think on pipe tobacco pricing variations much. If I like it I'll smoke it. Compared to the other half of my smoking hobby, it's all just so incredibly inexpensive. I could spend that money on a couple cigars or have a 100 grams of tobacco that would last me a couple months.
I use a torch lighter due to the wind, plus I'm new to pipe smoking so I'm not so good at keeping it lit yet. Getting better at it though!
Now the explanation you just gave was perfect 😊😊
I find it pretty funny that you think $20 is expensive for a premium tobacco. In Sweden the lowest & most boring blends cost $40.
