I adore Jacob’s music. How often are we surprised by what we listen to? Listening to his songs for the first time often leave me crying or confused. But even his more pop/melodic songs are peppered with surprises. That kind of curiosity and interest to stretch your ear to what sounds good is so exciting to me, and probably why I love his work.

I LOVE The Room. I brought the dvd on my honeymoon. We've seen it at midnight screenings like a dozen times and met Tommy Wiseau. I even bought the cd soundtrack to listen to in my car. 🎶 🎵 You are my rose you are my rose you are my roooosssseeee 🎶 🎵 😂

As someone who doesn't care for Taylor Swift Delicate is one of the only songs of hers that made me smile. I just wish it was less breathy though.

I'm a 74 year old former math teacher who's a lifelong singer and a pianist who's never been trained, (I also play autoharp because I like to go to folk jams not emptyhanded). I grew up in DC area. Today I shared Jacob Collier's music with a 19 year old guitarist in Hyderabad whom I tutored and befriend: him, his mom and dad. He's already heard of him! My point is that I think Jacob transcends musical genres and age for musicians (especially those that can talk theory). To me he represents an idea fount and find it quite easy to idealize him as a top tier genius (characterized by "He doesn't think/process like the normal Joe or genius even). I think I can understand some of his "reality" as a person who has lived a life dancing (figuratively) with music always. You pick up stuff and it become instinctual-esque and, like muscle memory (also a part) there is that music mental-ear memory. I see the seed that was in me also is in Jacob. His seed germinated and flourished and, in a person with his verbal skills and extrovertedness, has gone to amazing places in the universe, in the momentlessness of music. Am I just an under-attended Jacob? Nope, he seems to be a once-in-a-generation phenomenon. Oh, thanks for the video. I didn't know about all the superficial b.s. going on in the background. Everyone, enjoy! Jacob sure is!

I grew up then high school when nirvana came out it was insanity you heard everyone says they changed the world I lived then and yes it's absolutely true I don't think you can seriously understand how huge and impact of nirvana and grunge unless you were a teenager living it it was seriously one month the popular kids were like criss cross Mc hammer the very next month those sane prep rich kids suddenly stopped combining there hair buying shirts I got for 10 dollars at marks for like a 100 dollars some place I hated them for that because all my cheep cloths i wore became super pricey everything was different in matter of days it was crazy it was so stupidly huge I just started to hate it ive never ever again seen something totally change youth society like that again nothing came close the impact I can't express how seriously big it was everyone changed nothing was the same this happened in days maybe a month it was insane the only thing I think that ever did that before was the Beatles in fact Paul was asked what's the most important thing that happened in music he actually said nirvana who belongs beside hendrix it was really crazy great times I wish every generation could go though that but I doubt it will ever happen again

this is meant with absolutely no offense, but it's interesting how this was released right before the global pandemic that (in my opinion) seriously and fundamentally altered pop music and its consumption in the 2020s. i wonder how the forced isolation of the pandemic went along with the more emotionally-focused, 'solo listening' trend you say will be the future of pop.

Bejeweled is a song about being in a relationship where your partner can't see your worth. And throughout the song she reclaims her worth. That is why the Bejeweled music video has Taylor playing the character of Cinderella, someone who is underappreciated. The thing is, is that no amount of money and fame can fix relationship problems, and no matter how rich and famous Taylor gets, she is still human, which is why she will have unlimited material, as long as she can still feel things.

True story: I had never heard of Ratboys. Five minutes into this video, I was like “oh this definitely sounds like my jam.” So I paused the video and spent the next few hours listening to their entire discography. I love these guys, I like every song they’ve ever made. I might go to a Ratboys concert in a month. What I’m saying is, your master plan is working, Mic.

This has to be the first and only video that truly nailed the important part of 90s music no other video I have watched truly showed the 90s popular music the important impactful stuff I'm a 90s teen and you seriously nailed it I'm actually literally blown away by what a great job you did the 90s has to be the hardest decade to really pick the important parts so much happened a smorgasbord of music in the mainstream to break that down can not be easy really good job I'm definitely subscribing

I watch a lot of music history videos and finally someone talks about garth brooks no I'm not a country guy I'm actually a metal head 90s metal head but I remember garth brooks being overwhelming more popular then anything seriously ever he was huge and yes should seriously be mentioned never mind the fact that rope in the wind was number 1 then nirvana took that spot rope in the stayed number 2 nirvana fell off and rope in the wind back to number 1 guess happened next Metallica black came and yes rope in the wind went number 2 and again Metallica fell off and garth back at number 1 again a place he stayed through the whole decade I'm not sure how many times that happened with the album but it's never before are again ever happened garth is important anything 90s

I collect CDs and have built the largest collection I've ever had over the years, but I mainly use them as a secondary means of access, and primarily as a point of reference. Streaming is not only quick and easy to access, but also easy to rip from if you have the right tools. I'll spend a good amount of money on CDs when I can afford to, but streaming comes in handy when I can't.

I find the djent riff a bit cringe and uncalled for, but to act like he is a bad person for a lot of the stuff he didn't want, like to be labeled as genius and as a result to criticize him for every little thing you don't like about him, is pretty cringe and uncalled for, more than the djent riff there haha.
