What a wonderful documentary. Thank you for reminding us of what is important in life. I am struck by how the Pueblos revere the sun. The Japanese too greet the first sunrise of the New Year. It is so sad that so many of us have lost this mystical reverence of life itself. I can't helping feeling we're heading in the wrong direction... but many have said long before me.

I'm 22 and have always been more mature than my age. In his book Jung says that the transition period is around 35 in todays society (referring to 1964). To me it feels like that transition period is increasing. (in 2023) Most people are so deep into their character and so distant from the spiritual plane that it seems so obvious we are heading for a collapse. You don't have to be psychologist to see this. My first introduction was at the age of 14, when I listened to Alan Watts, who I found out later was quite inspired by Jung's work. At that time I was dealing with existentialism and Alan Watts was someone who helped me find peace. Maybe I wasn't quite consciously aware of it, but sub-consciously my mind was filled with wisdom. Only recently at the age of 22, I finally understood it, with the catalyst being a talk with a friend who was already open minded. I read Jung's book "Alchemy and Psychology" and it all made sense. It was so obvious that it just made me laugh. I was IT, the whole time, I just didn't see it. What's the real me? Am I the 22 years of EGO or am I billion years of nature? Haha. If you got this far, thank you for your time. God loves you!

40:04 I’ve been both Jung and the people he’s talking about here. Jung for the better half of my life, the latter for the latter part, but the past 2 years has been a great fight to “become Jung again”

The hardest person to forgive is often yourself. I struggle with this all the time. My perceived failures and feelings of inadequacy and lack of progress in my own life is something I struggle with. But this and the writings of the ancient Stoics are pushing me to accept things as they are and to strive for virtue as my standard for happiness.

Women against logic! Women against analysis! Women against making money on wall street! Cant you see what happens to society suppressing the female mind! Woman being oppressed by her image where mans reputation doesnt matter at all! Men can just be monkeys because they evade the attack and judgement of society.

To all who are listening to this audiobook in full there is an apparent section missing between this channels parts 4 and 5. To clarify, you will find that the video this channel labels as "part 4", concludes at the end of the actual books' section, 'The Eternal Symbols', which is the first section in the Part 2 portion, "Ancient Myths And Modern Man" written by Joseph L. Henderson. This video, labeled Part 5 by this channel, actually skips the next 11 pages (the chapter 'Heroes and Hero Makers') and commences mid section/chapter for some reason. I refrain from exact page numbers and reference sections in case different editions are being read from. I think this discrepancy is mentioned above once but its odd that no one else mentions it. I will not jump to conclusions....

I find it hard to believe Jung would smile at the idea of having his shadow. I would guess a true confrontation of our potential for violence and depravity wouldn’t amuse him

Reading "Man and His Symbols" by Carl Jung is a journey of self-discovery and exploration into the depths of the human psyche. Jung's ability to translate complex psychological concepts into relatable symbols and stories is truly remarkable. This book not only offers a fascinating glimpse into Jung's own ideas but also serves as a great introduction to his overall theories and analytical psychology as a whole.

Reading Man and His Symbols was a transformative experience for me. The book delves deep into the human psyche, exploring the power of symbolism and dreams in shaping our unconscious minds. Jung's insights on the collective unconscious, archetypes, and the shadow self provide a profound understanding of the human condition.

I love this man. They will be reading his books in 300 years. All my esoteric inclinations since I was a baby finally came to the surface over the last three years. I went to the library 3 months ago and stumbled upon Alchemical Studies... Then started listening to his content on KZread. All I have to say is, he's been the best at summarizing all the different phenomena I've been unofficially researching for most of my life 🧬. Man has created words in language to describe various human experiences, and our understanding of those experiences totally wrong, because the experiences are forced to fit within the meaning of the words used to describe them. That's where the problem starts. We have to figure out how to live without verbal communication. It's a more devine way of relating. Symbols.

I have very much appreciated hearing this - but the distraction is the lack of punctuation (and hence, sense) in the subtitles. Not trying to be awkward, but it is stopping me forwarding on to friends, which I would do otherwise.

I've listened to this book for hours and hours over the last two days, and this guy is just starting too sound like a damned babbling fool. This is cutting edge "science" has had 50 plus years to germinate and grow into something that helps society...Well, it's been actually 62 years and the world today is like a senseless dream, and people make as much sense as this guy. Prove me wrong. There may be something to what he. says, but too much of anything leads to disaster. Maybe he is an elite genius, but moist people certainly aren't, they are rather elite empty-headed fools. This doest help society one bit, but rather rots it. Just look around you in 2023.

He's not sounding so "outstandingly brilliant" on this video. He sounds a lot like the neutered, null and void leftists we're surrounded by today. It's 30 minutes in and to me he sounds like plain fucking deluded idiot. This was written when? 50 or so years ago...Just look around you today in 2023, and tell me my arrogant statements are false.
