6:37 It puts you close to the enemy's reach but, it doesn't have to. With curved blades like shinken or the szabla, you can still attack from horseback to your side. Cut the enemy side or his back and stay in a safety zone. Horse changes everything. You can have a trained steed. Or, a battle horse, which knows why, when and how to do things. So you don't have to micromanage him. But a good horse for a fight. A fast, agile, stable, and ingenious one would already be priced very high. Add the costs of quality food and good "maintenance". Then, add training for the horse and you on a horse. Yeah, now things are becoming within the reach of only a fighting noble, or a knight with a wealthy family. Top professionals. Leaders. Maybe an expert officer in the army of the crown. Maybe. The elite guys whose horses are not eaten during the long raid. More possibly such a horse will be fed well with the trooper's food rations. Their horses will become the meals.
Samurai with a katana couldn't beat a samurai with a stick
We need to see a demonstration of a wall hanger sword vs. functional sword in combat
Wait until he sees the scythe in dark souls, that in actuality is a bardiche but is considered a a halberd
How to defeat a possesed armour?
What a beast of a sword. Awesome.
1 sword does the work and the other remains an opportunist
I am always passionate about your work. And are the weapons that I always love to my ❤ heart, but more than that, I'm a huge fan of your KZread channel. Not only that, but I have autism, and i'm always a huge fan of weapons, like swords, spears, axes, and bow and arrows. No matter what happens in the future I always be here for you, so keep growing, keep dreaming, and you would do best in the future
I don't think he knows about second sword, Pippin... <laughs in Middle Earth>
This is already known to Escrimadors....
A variety of weapons rifles, shotguns, clubs, knives , spears, bows, swords , handguns , big agressive farm dogs at least 2.
And a pen full of hogs to get rid of any organic trash. Great to be a farmer lol.
It's like fighting with a super long dagger, like rapier and dagger
I cast gun, prepare to meet your maker!
Skalla found the magic Greatsword +3.
I went to the description, the link it's not a link. Can't copy from the phone..... 🤬🤬🤬🤬
Wow that is a cool sword! I wonder how much it is. Oh.....
Personally I'll keep my 45 Cal Pistol. Easy to carry, works every time, enough rounds for a real situation and great to have in a knife fight. I don't need to worry about rotation. Who would bring a knife to a gun fight? FJB
train eskrima and you get used to actively using 2 weapons. train with different lengths of weapon and in theory you should be able to used weapons of any type.
It's depends on the user
Musketeer with a katana vs Samurai with a rapier.
kali has entered the chat
Your thumb on top that bolt made me more nervous lol.
Years ago, a friend of a friend brought over some kendo swords. So the 3 of us went out to the backyard and started messing around with them. 2 of the swords were in good shape but the 3'd was barely holding on. After learning simple stuff like, swing at the person, not at the sword... 😆 We started to kind of get the hang of it. These are 3 kids who up until then, had no formal training and all we knew of sword fights was from movies. So of course, I wanted to try dual wielding, cuz that's like the coolest thing ever! It didn't take me long to discover this. Fight one handed, and use the other sword for strikes of opportunity. Also, like I said, the other sword was in real rough shape and you didn't want to fight with it more than you had to because it was ready to come apart. But yeah, I could never figure out why everyone was so down on the idea. But yeah, good points of it taking a lot longer to get ready.
can anyone identify the swords shown in the still at 1:13 in the video. I think I recognize the messer on top, but the what are the other two beauties?
Sudden urge to rewatch HBO Spartacus.
So it makes more sense in single combat, but pales when you think of armies and formations.
Did you try using a chakram as the brim of a hat?
I am left handed. One is to protect the other to assault. I switch handedness when I want to switch uses of the blades.
Umm, why couldn't he aim the crossbow with the fencing mask on. Can't be that hard to see out of those things right?
Now I want to try it. Haha
If dual wielding feels weird, try some basic drills. Escrima has some really good ones. But also, just slowly swing the blades however, getting a feel for having two swords, is huge (Be safe, don't use sharps, even random sticks is fine). If it feels weird, keep messing with it until it doesn't feel weird.
I got a small amount of additional amusement from this as Hasbro just put up a pre-order for an 6" Action Figure of the Gi Joe Character Storm Shadow carrying two similarly sized sword. It was like a little primer for how he might use that as his choice of bladed weaponry. Just made me smile for that extra reason due to the timing of the video's release.
This was entertaining, but still I'd go for one sword and a gun..no wait! Two guns! 😁
I know people talk about kali/escrima for dual wielding a lot and rightfully so but im betting everyone to look up korean dual wielding! Fewer translated sources but absolutely amazing sustem
This is incredibly useless knowledge but extremely interesting!
The random Darth Maul goes HARD
It is interesting way for fight one with one. But, we should remember about general hand. In fact, that fencing with use two hands (no matter, dagger or buckler) more difficult in learning process. That why most fencing techniques use one general hand and weapon. The not general hand could be used with simple movements.
Kentucky makes tiny swords birthed from larger swords?
You should analyze the moves that the Gerudu Guards use in Ocorina of Time
All u need is to be ambidexterous
6:45 thats because your supposed to hold it in a reverse grip
Loved this video and the two sword one you just released, please more like both of these!
Ending was killer
I mean it's just like fighting with one sword isn't it. If you don't really know what you're doing you'll not be good at it but if you practice and develop tecniques that work for you you can become very good at it.
IMHO, any blade 13" or shorter is a dagger/knife. Arbitrary, but that's my personal qualifier.
Yup, I always assumed it would be awkward. Never thinking about how then does sword&shield // sword&dagger? It's kinda obvious now you've shown it :)
Back when I was interested in the SCA I had a friend that fought with two light maces and he dominated the tournaments. It didn't hurt that he was 6'5" and built like a brick wall.
oh no he got massive again. poutine must be delicious
Is this demonetized or why don't I get any adds? And what for?
The real benefit of haveing two swords is having two POMELS OF MASS DESTRUCTION!
