Robert jordan is a master wordsmith / worldbuilder and some morons in crappywood think they knew better. It is a travesty. A mans entire life’s work turned to trash. Do some research on the wheel of time and author and you WILL become a fan. DO NOT WATCH THE SHOW. I tried and it made me physically sick and extremely angry. I was prepared though. I knew the show would be shit. It’s amazon, did you expect anything other than trash? This had the chance to blow house of dragon, gamea of thrones and lotr out of the water but instead it is the epitome of hubris and folly.

I really, really hate MCU "funny banter". I mean BG3 had some too, but at least it was funny and well toned. Not this teenager humor.

I'm sure it's a stupid question, but why choose between partners? I never understood this in any game .Once you have to face hordes of enemies why would I take the whole team ? I'm the coolest daredevil and I only need two people to save the world. Why the hell do the others have to do all the little side missions?Although it looks like we are not bothered by many enemies, it looks more like a pub fight.

Look I don't care what your sexuality is I really don't I'm a pretty liberal live and let live guy but I'm just at the point of not supporting anyone using those buzzwords. I'm not giving them a chance to worm their little tendrils into games because they made one good game. That ideology should be poison in this industry. It never stops at some competent dev just having some weird ideas. This stuff always seeks to spread and take over. Not doing it.

I find so disrepectful the way you speak about the game director choosing to misgender her after the first few attempts.. And also yes, news flash Dragon Age has always tried to be inclusive as much as it could (in 2009 having 2 bisexual characters in the main cast was HUGE) and in Dragon Age 2 all the love interests are sort of pansexual (or playersexual if you will). I agree that putting them in a spectrum was better and was also an incentive to try different protagonists, but if I had to suffer another hackneyed storyline of the poor gay character who's backstory is all incentered about being queer I would have flipped the table. And dont' get me wrong, I love Dorian but sexuality has actually NEVER been a problem in any Dragon Age and I'm personally not that sad they decided to throw it out the window. Not enough to complain about it for five whole minutes at least. Also, you're complaining about BioWare not thiniking about its core audience but I believe that the queer element is one of the few things they considered since like 90% of the people I know and see online who loves this game enough to still be willing to buy it at lauch are queer themselves. That said I agree with you that they're shooting themselves in the foot multiple times about what they chose to show us but what we saw is very much what Dragon Age has become at this point. It all looks like it's a mixture of DA2 and Inquisition gameplay wise and honestly as long as the characters will be respected and the tone will be balanced between wacky and dark I will be satisfied. And for the nostalgic of the "dark and gritty high fantasy" of Origins I care to remind you all of Zevran and Oghren trying to rescue the warden from Fort Drakon

No, the 'Slide' began with the mangling of the game world from Mass Effect 1 -> 2, culminating with the Catstrophic ME3 (and the DLC did NOTHING but polish the turd. Certainly adding a Fourth ending which amounted to a 'Middle Finger' to the Fans who had legitimate issues didn't help.) Interestingly, this also happened to be when the original owners up and left the company they created to go make Beer.

With all of their 'It will be THIS, NOT This' blather I am reminded of what they said THREE DAYS before Mass Effect 3 released- 'There will be no A, B, C, kind of ending.' Whatever you all do, do NOT buy this game on release day. Let someone else find out how many lies they're telling this time.

I play games to consume their writing, creative direction, and raw gameplay, giving me enjoyment in return. When a game is made solely to push someone else’s thoughts and ideology into me, with LITTLE TO NO care put into the actual THEME and SETTING of the game… I won’t buy it. Hands down. I’m a normal human being that casually enjoys games on the side… not a sexist, transphobic, neck-bearded creep. A race-swap isn’t going to make me think, “ohh that’s nice! About time we see some diversity in this genre!”. It’s going to make me think, “what the fuck is a black person doing in NORSE MYTHOLOGY”… the same goes for the other side, imagine if they made Miles Morales white in his game. These people are insane. Make an intriguing story around your character and stop throwing them into places they shouldn’t be.

The ability "wheel" looks like it has three abilities for yourself, which are visible at all times and probably keybound. God I hope they are keybound. The three on each side are for your companions' cooldowns. This is a mass effect clone. So just like in DA 2 & 3 you will need to pick and choose which abilities you wanna use and change up the loadout if you want to optimize. I know at this point it's a meme that every DA entry should have new animation style and combat, but come on. Oh, and the combat will rely on dodge with i-frames, counters and parries which is why we see lineups for ranged attacks and a flashing thing above head of MC when there are incoming melee attacks. Personally I don't have a problem with this system but it's not anything special either. Just basic

Idk ive seen a lot of people who dont mind the look. But you know what i do when i dont like something. I just dont play it and forget about it. Like a normal human. I just feel like gamers are some of the most entitled people ever. They want multi million dollar games for dirt cheap and they also want every game to be the best game. Shit ive been playing games my whole life. 28 years. And these past few years have been amazing. But i guess thats because my entire personality isnt based around a few AAA games lol. But oh well.

Samberg and the writers really understood what made this show click. To this day it's still one of my favorite comedy shows ever tied with Scrubs. It uses silly humor in such masterful way while still developing characters in interesting ways; and the few moments of actual drama are played with respect without undermining the messages. Captain Holt (RIP Andre Braugher) is my personal favorite and the best written gay character I've ever seen; his sexuality and skin color are part of his core, but they don't define the character.

That last point though... The boss speaks about "sexual tension", completely overlooking the fact that (in the original story at least) _Hook is a grown man and Peter is a child._ As hilariously accurate as the other points are, this one is a bit scary. Still, fits in the skit perfectly!

I hated how they turned the game into a horny fanfiction in DA2. DAO was somewhat sexy in a mostly mature way, but since DA2 it turned into a teenager's fantasy and DAI is a game where everyone's sexuality is an essencial topic. The ppl in modern media sexualize the games so much, but complain about sexy female characters.

  • @Filip_Agrippa
    @Filip_Agrippa10 сағат бұрын

They already retconned most of DAO with the sequels. DA2 was like a teenage fanfiction, DAI subverted most world building in order to have a political agenda and to preach. I don't expect anything good from this game.

You've perfectly described my feelings towards the trailer...makes me very sad that over the past 11 years, this is what they had for us. Their goal was to move in a more "Origins" direction, and they went for Overwatch vibes instead. Nearly heartbreaking man...how are they THAT disconnected??? Who's choice was this? Why didn't anyone say anything when they thought this was a good idea?

And people will legitimately say shit like "It's a trailer. How are you gonna critique a trailer before playing the full game?". Bitch! The trailer is supposed to make me want to play the game! If the trailer looks like MCU garbage with ugly women and terrible dialogue, why the hell would I pay full price for that?

As far as game journalism, it didn't always have a left lean. I remember when gaming magazines were endorsing AGAINST Gore/Lieberman because Lieberman questioned the role of video games in societal violence. I had a lot of gaming magazines in the early 2000s and in general there was a kind of frat bro, libertarian bent to many of the publications. The gaming industry as a whole reflected this too, (e.g. the infamous Cosby Suite). About a decade ago, roughly, critical social justice ideology took over the entertainment industry and entertainment journalism, and it happened fast. But it wasn't always like that.

Hi Greg. I would like to say a word: 1. Interactivity - Video games are interactive, true. But you know whats interactive too? Tabletop TPGs, and I actually preffer it. 2. Story - Yo, guess what. Books are even more focused on story than walking simulators. Because there is no gameplay, so nothing is distracting me from the story. And I dont need any device to do, I just need a fucking book. So, ye. Its not really convincing. You just acting like video games are peak of entertaiment when its not. And belive me, ive tried, and came to simple conclusion: video games arent superior to books or tv shows by any means. Its just different.

Oy... I'm all for more queer representation even if I'm not queer, but this definitely feels less like genuine storytelling and more like queer-baiting which is to rope in the queer community with the promise of representation only for it to be a cash grab at their expense. I am fine with pansexual identities being represented, but it feels less true when every party member is pan. I'm sure one could find enough pan people to gather into a legitimate party but I think it's pretty rare to find a group of friends who all happen to be pan. Again, not saying it's impossible to happen, but more to the point, I thought that both life and stories were about bringing different people together. So yeah, maybe a party member or two could be pan, but maybe they aren't characters the player necessarily jives with whereas the character that does sync with them may be interested romantically. Learning to deal with that is part of life, and I think making that part of the game is more interesting too because then you're faced with instances where you don't get what you want. Granted I do like having options too, but it can be a little hard to believe everyone in the group is ready to get down with anyone. To be fair, I'm kinda spoiled as I'm a straight man so there's always been options for me in rpg's since well, that's what society is comfy with. Honestly, it'd be interesting to come across a game with a character that says, "No, sorry I don't roll that way," and then you have to carry on. I like that in Baldur's Gate you can apparently lose party members for not respecting them.Kinda cool they went so far that you can lose members that way. But I digress. Point being: This game and company definitely feel like they're making these decisions to be profitable and NOT out of any passion or genuine character development which just undercuts the whole inclusive image they're so desperate to market.
