Isn’t he your competition? This is cool
Just wanted to say thank you for all the tips. They helped me break into tech sales and secure an SDR role. I appreciate all the advice; it really helped me get to where I wanted to be.
Love to hear it, congrats!
Hi Eric! I commented on one of your videos back in January asking for advice as a college student. Your response helped and I was able to join Higher Levels and secure a remote summer SDR internship at a company called AdAction (based in Colorado). Usually I am sending cold emails (no cold calls) and shadowing sales meetings with the Director and BDRs. Because I feel a tiny bit lost on what to do from here, I wanted to ask if you have any sort of advice on what to do and focus on if I want to become a top SDR/AE at a leading company like Oracle or Snowflake after graduation?
Great video. So many people getting into tech never even heard of the SE role nor understand it is NOT an entry level role. Boot camps for an SE position makes no sense 😂
Love how the guest speaks with such fearlessness, calmness and composure
💛💯
Starting an SE role soon at a tech company and im a new grad, would love more videos with SEs that can offer advice on succeeding in the role!
I have 8+ years experience in retail sales.Last position was area manager. Can i get into Ae role or i need To have experience at sdr/bdr?
SDR
I think it really depends on the vertical your company is in. I have seen SEs, sales enablement, rev ops, engineers, programmers all get the boot as well. Unstable jobs vs long term career, it will pan out
whats the tool he using chat gpt and?
Great insights!!! Thank you for sharing. I am moving into an AE role and I will be a loyal subscriber of both channels.
Great interview, congrats! 🎊 When is the AE course coming out. I’m currently a SDR for over a year now I’m ready to elevate.
Coming out in July very shortly. That said our SDR Accelerator is focused on transitioning from SDR to AE. Send me an email at [email protected] and we can see what the best fit would be for your situation
Thanks for having me on! Great conversation and excited to be joining the Higher Levels team
Does an Indian with good communication skills get an remote SDR job?
Hello man, thanks for your content! I was wondering if we could perhaps do somewhat of a mock interview for an sdr role, i have a meeting coming ip next tuesday and would love to get feedback, i believe this can also help many people when they are trying to break into tech sales.
Supporting 2000 students currently in our platform so I have to prioritize their needs but good luck and let me know if you have any questions!
Respect
“They landed higher OTE” this is such a horrible statement for people breaking into tech sales to hear. 99% of people aren’t getting anywhere close to their OTE. Don’t get stuck on high OTW
What are you referring to? Do you work in tech sales?
This video is great
Awesome
Love the logo animation and another killer conversation.
wow amazing
What’s his LinkedIn??? lol

Hey, I’m a college student and my major is business administration. I have no work experience at all. I found a entry level sdr job at a tech company that doesn’t require any prior experience or degree and they offer training. Do you think it will be a good idea to apply for this job?
Yes, what are your other options?
underrated video
Appreciate it!
Good advice thank you
Needed this boost, thank you. Have gotten to final round at 3 amazing companies that ended up not moving forward. Going to apply this to my messaging and interviews and see how it goes
Great conversation guys
Pretty much any high performance job is going to strain you a lot if you’re not taking care of yourself.
This channel and these long open convos they post are a goddamn goldmine. I have no degree, only an insurance license and experience and am in the 2nd round for an MDR position at a household name tech company in Silicon Valley. Soak it up, friends! Best of luck!
Good luck!
@@techsales-higherlevels thank you! I got the 3rd and final interview!
@@Pacmaster3000 love to hear it - keep us posted on the final results and good luck!
This video is so timely as I’m ramping in my first AE role. Thank you guys!
Great episode as always and great topic, thanks for sharing! I'd suggest to be mindful of the hands hitting the table while speaking, the noise can be a bit disruptive and distracting.
Loved the video! Question..coming from someone who negotiated the contracts and then led the implementation of things such as okta, intune, vmware etc.. how much more beneficial would it be for me to sell the product since i already understand the opposite side of who the account executives talk to? And by beneficial i mean i wouldnt want to over analyze from the companies perspective
Would be very beneficial having been on the other side. There are limits to how deep you want to go in a sales conversation but that experience would absolutely stand out and be valuable when you're applying. Are you already starting to make the transition?
@techsales-higherlevels yes..ive been watching a lot of your videos and have been connecting to my network. Main thing to get down is the resume currently then nail the interview. Btw loved the top 25 interview questions video 👊
Content on how to succeed once you get the role is sooo appreciated it guys!! I enjoy the “how to break in”. But these “on the job” tips are fantastic
Excellent topic point!!!
what the hell is a sales engineer
Try Google first, happy to answer follow up questions after
Just finished the pod, I’m about to start a new role and this fires me up! Great tips. Real info.
Get those sponsorships! Then the courses can be cheaper! 😅
Lol ya in the future we can use code 'SELLOUTS' for 20% off courses once we sign with sponsors
@@techsales-higherlevels I mean we are in sales, I’m trying to ‘sellout’ everyday! Love the content, keep doing you!
@@DroidX1337 appreciate the support!
Man I only got 10% I don't feel special anymore
@bhznez lol it was a joke, that code doesn't exist

I needed this ego check
I just started an SE position and am making 235 ote 270 TC (with RSU). Mid level at a big (5k-10k employee) tech company
Nice, what's your background before becoming SE?

Really helpful for the College grads who are planning to enter Tech sales after their college... Love from India...
Your insights always resonate with me, and your journey from a "boring" career to a $90k+ tech sales job is truly inspiring! 🌟 I'm eager to know, what were the key strategies or shifts you made to transition into such a lucrative role? 🤔 Hoping for some personal communication soon, as I'd love to learn from your experiences firsthand!
I have sent messages but sometimes they will reply to "just submit an application and the hiring team will review it", like they are surprised or even offended at me reaching out for the position.
Wouldn't worry about that too much, you can't control their reaction
