Hello mate I was wondering if you could help me out, I’ve been using CSL dd, Drivehub/ ps5 for 8 months without a problem and now it doesn’t work. Everything is updated and tried new cables. The hori controller controls ps5 through the hub no problem but nothing on the wheel. My process is plug hori in, then wheel, then usb to ps5, then my wheels display says “USB NOT CONNECTED” Are you having any issues? I’m wondering if it’s hard wear or soft wear problem. I’m really struggling to find a solution, I’ve tried contacting collective minds but they don’t get back to me

Hi, I'm having no issues. I don't connect things individually though. Wheel and Hori are always connected to Drivehub for me, which is always connected to the PS5.

@@Readie1 Oh right, sorry no idea why it would just stop suddenly. Hard to troubleshoot the issues too, could be the Drivehub or Hori, or neither... All I can say is maybe contact Drivehub or see if they have forums, which I'm sure you have aleady. Hope you figure it out though.

I HATE the logitech, did the sequential upgrade thing and after about 40 hours of game play, it started to miss and skip gears and so switched back to the H pattern. The H pattern is just too close for accurate shifting...period for it to work half way decent! Ordered a sequential generic (CHINA) off of ebay, hoping it's good, be here in about a month...

Picked up my GimX at the post office yesterday and all went well. Tested it today. Turned on my Simucube Pro, started GimX program, started SLRE (PC version) and it just worked. Yay! Thanks for making this, making the world a better place, one GimX at the time. Cheers.

I haven't received my PCL yet, but according to real time weigh-ins I've seen here on KZread, I think it comes in lighter than my Q3 with the Bobo VR battery head strap. It still LOOKS bulky as heck but it's good to know the weight is not going to be an issue.

I might very well need one of those as the usb-c connector broke off on my GimX a while back. Gonna see this weekend if I can solder and superglue it together and get it working. If not I'll put in an order. Need my Sebastien Loeb Rally Evo fix every now and then and with different brands of pedals and wheel GimX saves the day. Very fair price I must say and looks sturdy. Thanks, I actually spent lots of time on the box as I really enjoy tinkering in Autocad and printing. the boards aren't just thrown in, there's little supports keeping everything in place so the ports will never push in etc. I know that's of course a basic expectation, I just mean it's not a botch job lol.

VRperfkit initialise the logs if AMS2.EXE is used but this does not launch the game in the QUEST 2 (only on monitor) When AMS2AVX.EXE is used, the game launches in VR but there is no responce in the VRperf log file. Is there anyway I can get it to work for AMS2AVX.EXE?

The crystal light is overall a decent headset. It clearly needs a new housing but I understand the costs of that (we are a manufacturer of sim equipment ourselves) and it is a compromise that can be made since you did manage to balance the headset well enough and are using a massive facial interface to spread the pressure and load and excellent light sealing. The lenses and display are great, there is some chromatic abberation on the edges but within acceptable tolarences. The FOV is compromised by the facial interface as this is non adjustable in distance and with that a huge advantage of the headset is negated. The temperature of the displays is also creating too much heat within the headset and in my tesing I did not see any venting option. The cable is too stiff and non removable from the headset - this weighs the headset down unless you use a cable strain relief while using the headset. Inside out tracking is working well, on par with Quest headsets. In summary, its decent but you are competing with the Meta Quest3 and as much as we want to focus on sim racing - this is the headset to beat for you in price, not only image quality. The roadshow itself really needed a bit more organizing and preparation. You cannot showcase the Crystal with pcs that either are not set up correctly with the appropriate games where the Crystal shines (sim racing and flying) or using slow cards - all pcs should be using 4090s. The staff was great and friendly although I feel you need technical staff as well, not just commercial such as Dragon. It all looked and felt a bit rushed and last minute.

About the ratio for main screen , you can lower the distant to the screen in the VR box , it also makes the overlay a bit more in place.

I think DLSS sucks because of the stereoscopic image. The software treats it as two different pictures when upscaling and so there's no consistency between them. It's probably not that noicable, where the differences are but your brain notices it as weird.

Indeed the problem is too many people do buy each new iteration at full price, nothing is pushing them to do better. A better idea would be something like every even number year they have a full release, then each odd number year is a DLC. They would have time and resources to actually develop the game. Even the time and money saved on their marketing nonsense every single year would be of huge benefit to actually developing the next title!

Well you are doing the same thing I plan to do. I am not even going to try F1-24 right now. I will wait for a deep dive sale price on STEAM. I have both F1-22 and F1-23 and enjoy both of these games in VR on my PC. Got both of these games with sale pricings. i have a couple other previous F1 versions but have to use VORPX for getting VR. Probably by the time this game goes on sale, upgrades if any along the way, may fix problems you see. I am not a F1 Fanboy, just enjoy variety of different racing games, which I have. I'd say VR is more of a bonus in these type of games. They mostly cater to flatscreeners. Perhaps with these new affordable headsets around that provide better clarity, we can expect EA and the AAA developers to improve PC to PCVR ports.

As a simracer who started with VR... I have to say there is no turning back. I literally haven't played iRacing on a flat screen. I tried F1 23 on VR but it was horrible. Total playing time? 20 hrs and then I quit. And this is tuning settings included lol. Racing and VR is just perfect.

@@StMediaNL Unfortunately, I, too, have F1 22 sitting around 20 hours, with 90% of the time spent actually testing it in VR. It looks blurry and runs at a mere 60 fps unless I reduce even more details. Year after year, I don't see much improvement with F1 in VR. My only option is to get a high-end GPU like a 4090.

The thing with f1 vr is that you have to have a beast of a pc. i can run assetto corsa vr with no problems and good graphics but f123 vr is just impossible to run its unplayable if you have a lower spec pc.

If uou simply properly adjusted your FOV- Field of View. Settings then zoom. Default is 50=too small. Not real life immersion. Move to 85 to 90 which closely matches real lofe size. Distance from tv should ve 36"-48" depending how large tv is. If your usibg 50 or 60" tv then sit back 3-5 feet back comfortably.. You could also use a video wall controller

Well the Crystal light VR headsets sound pretty good, but I will wait till actual units get out to the video reviewers and users to see what they think of the final product. Are they as good as advertised on paper, we shall see. I may get one of these light headsets further down the road and once all the bugs and issues are fixed, if any. Now, no matter how good these 2 VR headsets are, i still won't be able to push them to the limits since I only have a RTX-3080TI GFX card for SIM racing games. i don't do flight SIM games. I would have to turn down the resolutions of the unit, though to make it work. There are a couple of videos I watched with people using the Regular Crystal headset with a 3080 card and seemed to work for them with some setting changes. So just waiting for units to be reviewed in the near future. Take care.

Yeah waiting until they are out in the wild is for sure then sensible choice. To be fair, with the Crystal (which I still need to review), I haven't had a single issue with hardware or software ever. The good thing about headsets having a higher PPD now is of course that you can lower the resolution but still have an amazing SDE free image, knowing that you have plenty of room to increase it if/when you upgrade your GPU :)

If anyone sees this please help. VRperfkit initialise the logs if AMS2.EXE is used but this does not launch the game in the QUEST 2 (only on monitor) When AMS2AVX.EXE is used, the game launches in VR but there is no responce in the VRperf log file. Is there anyway I can get it to work for AMS2AVX.EXE?

The crystal light is overall a decent headset. It clearly needs a new housing but I understand the costs of that (we are a manufacturer of sim equipment ourselves) and it is a compromise that can be made since you did manage to balance the headset well enough and are using a massive facial interface to spread the pressure and load and excellent light sealing. The lenses and display are great, there is some chromatic abberation on the edges but within acceptable tolarences. The FOV is compromised by the facial interface as this is non adjustable in distance and with that a huge advantage of the headset is negated. The temperature of the displays is also creating too much heat within the headset and in my tesing I did not see any venting option. The cable is too stiff and non removable from the headset - this weighs the headset down unless you use a cable strain relief while using the headset. Inside out tracking is working well, on par with Quest headsets. In summary, its decent but you are competing with the Meta Quest3 and as much as we want to focus on sim racing - this is the headset to beat for you in price, not only image quality. The roadshow itself really needed a bit more organizing and preparation. You cannot showcase the Crystal with pcs that either are not set up correctly with the appropriate games where the Crystal shines (sim racing and flying) or using slow cards - all pcs should be using 4090s. The staff was great and friendly although I feel you need technical staff as well, not just commercial such as Dragon. It all looked and felt a bit rushed and last minute.

About the ratio for main screen , you can lower the distant to the screen in the VR box , it also makes the overlay a bit more in place.

Thanks, no well no support fir it with the V3 motion seat. That's a good thing though otherwise something, probably a hand, would of got broken as a I punch the rig paddling!
ea f1 game developer says they released these without properly testing VR. EA is a game company with a lot of problems.

Just bought it today. Tried it for about 15 minutes. The handling I actually really enjoy with zero assists but the motion and optimization in VR is absolutely horrible
I didn't play it long enough to even assess the handling lol. Happy to stick with 23 for now and see what 25 may bring.
I think DLSS sucks because of the stereoscopic image. The software treats it as two different pictures when upscaling and so there's no consistency between them. It's probably not that noicable, where the differences are but your brain notices it as weird.
But DLSS works great in many other VR games including F1 23, so something is definitely wrong with it in F1 24.
These yearly update game don't deserve our money ...this and wrc are an insult ....look what drive club did on PS3 in 2014,,,,,,they are almost in the scam category ,,,and should be called out . Quick question how many time faster is a 4090 vs a ps3?
Indeed the problem is too many people do buy each new iteration at full price, nothing is pushing them to do better. A better idea would be something like every even number year they have a full release, then each odd number year is a DLC. They would have time and resources to actually develop the game. Even the time and money saved on their marketing nonsense every single year would be of huge benefit to actually developing the next title!
Well you are doing the same thing I plan to do. I am not even going to try F1-24 right now. I will wait for a deep dive sale price on STEAM. I have both F1-22 and F1-23 and enjoy both of these games in VR on my PC. Got both of these games with sale pricings. i have a couple other previous F1 versions but have to use VORPX for getting VR. Probably by the time this game goes on sale, upgrades if any along the way, may fix problems you see. I am not a F1 Fanboy, just enjoy variety of different racing games, which I have. I'd say VR is more of a bonus in these type of games. They mostly cater to flatscreeners. Perhaps with these new affordable headsets around that provide better clarity, we can expect EA and the AAA developers to improve PC to PCVR ports.
As a simracer who started with VR... I have to say there is no turning back. I literally haven't played iRacing on a flat screen. I tried F1 23 on VR but it was horrible. Total playing time? 20 hrs and then I quit. And this is tuning settings included lol. Racing and VR is just perfect.
@@StMediaNL Unfortunately, I, too, have F1 22 sitting around 20 hours, with 90% of the time spent actually testing it in VR. It looks blurry and runs at a mere 60 fps unless I reduce even more details. Year after year, I don't see much improvement with F1 in VR. My only option is to get a high-end GPU like a 4090.
Same, I've tried games a few that don't have VR and I feel like I'm wasting my time when I could be in VR lol. The only exception is Wreckfest but I wish that was in VR!!!

Is just TAA without sharpening still very blurry? Like so blurry you cant read brake signs until too late
Already refunded now and not 100% sure but I think it was and I expect I skipped past TAA for a reason

Through the seat Platform Manager. I expect the OpenXR one off Github works as that's independent, but sadly I have nowhere to mount a controller for that.
The thing with f1 vr is that you have to have a beast of a pc. i can run assetto corsa vr with no problems and good graphics but f123 vr is just impossible to run its unplayable if you have a lower spec pc.
Yes very true. It's a flat game with VR tacked on which is better than not, but it's a shame they don't put some resources into developing the VR side.

Im gonna get this spring mod as well for sure. super cheap and I have read nothing but great things about it. but i also plan on getting the sequential shifter mod aswell somewhere down the line - you mention it at 5:44. anyone have any idea if these 2 mods work well together? or is it 1 or the other?
I can't see how they would work together really, I suppose it's possible if the sq mod provides a decent amount of force back to centre. Best bet is to contact them directly and ask really.

Hi, In what way doesn't it work, and what wheel are you using? Also confirm the Gimx is on the G27 firmware?
If uou simply properly adjusted your FOV- Field of View. Settings then zoom. Default is 50=too small. Not real life immersion. Move to 85 to 90 which closely matches real lofe size. Distance from tv should ve 36"-48" depending how large tv is. If your usibg 50 or 60" tv then sit back 3-5 feet back comfortably.. You could also use a video wall controller
Yes I do that in the video, change the zoom I mean, as far as I remember that acts as FOV and there is no other FOV slider.
Just bought it. I have a kiwi that built into my head strap and I like it but I need extra power. It cut out in the middle of doctor who.
I'm using the Meta Elite battery strap now, so if I need it I have about 8 hours non-stop lol. You should get a lot of Doctor Who in that time!

Is it possible to use it to connect contorller to both xbox and PC so that both read the controller input at the same time? OR maybe anyone could recommend any solutions which can achieve that?

Well the Crystal light VR headsets sound pretty good, but I will wait till actual units get out to the video reviewers and users to see what they think of the final product. Are they as good as advertised on paper, we shall see. I may get one of these light headsets further down the road and once all the bugs and issues are fixed, if any. Now, no matter how good these 2 VR headsets are, i still won't be able to push them to the limits since I only have a RTX-3080TI GFX card for SIM racing games. i don't do flight SIM games. I would have to turn down the resolutions of the unit, though to make it work. There are a couple of videos I watched with people using the Regular Crystal headset with a 3080 card and seemed to work for them with some setting changes. So just waiting for units to be reviewed in the near future. Take care.
Yeah waiting until they are out in the wild is for sure then sensible choice. To be fair, with the Crystal (which I still need to review), I haven't had a single issue with hardware or software ever. The good thing about headsets having a higher PPD now is of course that you can lower the resolution but still have an amazing SDE free image, knowing that you have plenty of room to increase it if/when you upgrade your GPU :)
