Hey and welcome to GameDev.tv 👋
If you've ever dreamt of making video games, want to become a better game developer, 3D artist or programmer then you're in the right place. 👾
Our mission is to help 'empower aspiring game developers to create and grow' and we've had the honour of helping more than 1 million students on their game dev journey. 🌱
Our online game development school teaches thousands of people to code by making games. Our courses show you how to make your own games, using free game engines Unity C#, Unreal C++ and Unreal Blueprints. Reach players on Apple/PC, iOS, Android, other mobile platforms and consoles. We also teach drawing, 3D modelling in Blender, game design and more.
You can check out our courses at 👉 www.GameDev.tv
This channel gives you access to all future content, ad-free and with special KZread-only content such as livestreams, interviews and more.
Thanks for stopping by 😁

I'm just a player, but get most of my games from KZread. I would have thought that most people get their games from similar sources. We want to see what the game is about and how well it plays etc. You only get that from watching KZread influencers. And I get some from friends, but 99% from KZreadrs. Different KZreadrs play different types of games of different styles. I follow those who play my kind of games. As far as I know, most people I know are pretty similar...
Godot wins
Sick soccer skills Jamie!
I like the old Mario movie
What about rigidbodies?
OMG! K-B! I thought he wasn't part of the team anymore.
Portal 3, I don't think that wait is ever going to end, though :)
So cool
I'm scared that nintendo will sue the everliving soul out of this bc of the gameboy ish design
Thats not how 5d works
What exactly is 5D and 4D, as I keep hearing these terms , and the people that mention it, don't explain what it is?
4d is a completely different thing, but i think 5d is just because it is 2d + 3d. if you want a good explanation on 4d search uo something like "a highschooler explains the fourth dimension" its very interesting and that explanation made sense for me
its kinda hard to conceptualise - but the way mathematics and programming treats it is as lists of lists. So a 1 dimensional array is just a list, a two dimensional one is a list of those lists stacked together to make a list of lists, and then a 3d one is a list of lists of lists and so on. Essentially, in the same way you can stack 2 dimensions together to produce a 3 dimenisonal obeject, you can stack 3 dimensional objects to make a 4d one, but as a 3d creature you can only perceive a given 3d "slice" of it, in the same way a stick figure would look at a cube and see a straight line.
makes me feel dizzy but i fw it alot
This is the most brain root thing i ever saw but ı love it
It looks so cool!
I'm not familar with the game, but great learning a little about it!
Definitely a fun game to check out!
Can you do borderlands 2
The idea looks quite original, but original isn't necessarily a good thing.
I thought Team Fortress xD
Close
I cant believe im considering learning godot after this, major ue5 stan but DANG that godot is flerting hard
Counter-strike.
👏👏
sadly couldnt get my game completed lol restarting the game would cause it to crash. I'm using upbge 3. Regardless I had fun and it was a learning experience
🥲
I thought it was the first Rainbow Six. Oops
Bloom has been the bane of my eyeballs the past few years :D Games always seem to go overboard with it for some reason ;=;
Yeah, bloom in moderation is key.
Nice 👍
This is called billboarding.
Do you perhaps have a tutorial on creating that sort of effect? :D
That would be awesome. I'll have a word with the team for future courses.
This is the most common way but in newer games voxles are also used. Unreal developed a new (its not that new) voxel system that stimulates 3d fire
It is a lot than I imagined, great for my mini pc’s performance
Definitely less resource consuming by doing it this way.
Hello
Hello 👋
Nah. Grew out of the sexism that is into the game. And I also finished my transition. Duke Nukem is outdated. I played it, saw the sexism, sold it immediately way under price in a 2nd hand store.
Thank you for the courses! I've learned a lot form them.
Good kicks and simple explanation.
Would you like to see more of this type of content?
@@Gdevtv I like seeing these types of videos and podcast discussions between Rick and Tim rather than the program live competitions. The latter are fun, but I'm not learning anything out of them like the transfer of knowledge.
We appreciate the feedback, I will pass this along to the team 🙂
How do you fix it where your editor screen gets super sluggish when you try out the multiplayer
Hmm, sorry to hear that. It could be down to a number of factors. Have you checked the minimum requirements? - catnessgames.com/blog/unreal-engine-5-requirements/
how do we claim our free course?
Stay tuned, we will be sending out emails to people that submitted a game, hopefully later this week.
I also hate it when i forget to apply a sphere collider before playing football😂
Honestly, it's a bigger issue than most people realise 😆
Having used all three, the simplicity, ease of use, and nice UI of Godot just makes it my favorite. I tend to use Unreal for larger projects though as it has a lot of stuff built-in and I don't need to reinvent the wheel every time.
So can you export this to unreal engine? Since it would be a good asset to use in a horror game.
You can export a .fbx file into Unreal, although I'll need to have a play around to see if the video comes across with it.
Thanks to your Jam, for the first time I made a game from start to finish. XD It's nothing special but I'm satisfied with the work done. I learned to use tools that I had never used, and above all, the experience of a deadline is very instructive because it requires considerable problem solving skills. So thank you for the opportunity you have given us. I can't wait to participate in the next Jam and hope to receive feedback to improve.
My first completed Game Jam, was really fun!
I'm glad I participated, it was my first game jam and it unlocked my brain a little to further develop the game I've been wanting to make for a while.
It was fun! Thanks for sponsoring this
That was a nice game jam, and a nice opportunity to work on a team for the first time. (PS, I can't wait to redeem my free course.)
I am so glad we joined the Jam and submitted a game. We are all new to it, but love games. We used this to motivate us and give us a deadline to help ensure we actually DID something!
I like Godot and feel like it has the most potential to grow and become better. Then I like unreal since it has the potential to make games look really nice and realistic while it looks simpler and easier to use. Unity just seemed more complicated for almost the same results as Godot. Then again these are just the opinions of a someone who has never coded a game in there life 😁
Darn, missed the stream since I was preparing dinner. When you mentioned puzzle games, that hit me hahah. Quite literally what i've done/been doing. The reason for me sharing it in the discord was exactly that, that due to creator bias it was hard to tell how easy or hard it was to complete, and it also can be solved in different ways, not just one. Cheers, i'll start trying games tomorrow😄
WHERE is CRYENGINE
Ayyy, my submission (Gauntlet 2D) made its way into your video. Thanks so much for hosting the jam. This was my first game jam, super fun and I learned a lot!
Wahey, the team are going to playtest some soon. Hopefully it's one we randomly pick 🙂
Guys why you dont use blender for 3d models like house and all 3d models and stuff is more easy
I just wanted to thank you guys for doing this. It was my first jam and even though I didn't get my game submitted. (I only had 2 of the 10 days to work on it unfortunately.) This jam gave me the confidence to know that I CAN do game development and I will do more jams and build on this experience.
Thank you! No problem, we love doing these game jams to give our a community a chance to create amazing games! Even if you aren't able to submit a game it's still a great experience.
Got it. I remember following one of the voice actors when that came out after hearing her on a game dev podcast.
1. Color Splash? 2. Huh... 3. Huh... 4. Oh, Sister Location.
