Hey, it's possible I did not notice it, but do you have any video of you doing the firewall (0:19)? If not, could you please elaborate, on which part did you apply the material (inside / outside) and how did you get to the firewall? Thanks a bunch!
@OutsideTheTargetDemographicАй бұрын
Hi Friend! I don't remember if I made a video on it. My base model Forester did not have any protection on the firewall, so I did have to do my firewall. If you have any dark fabric already on your firewall, I don't know that you can add over it. That said, first I cleaned the whole firewall with rubbing alcohol. Then, I cut a sheet or two of the Noice sound deadener sheets (seen in episode one of my noise deadening series) into 1/8 sheet strips, and put that strips anywhere where if I tapped the metal, the metal was loud. Meaning, if I tapped a thin part of the metal, it would make noise like if I tapped the backside of a cookie sheet. If I tapped metal and it was quiet, like tapping a steel pipe, then I didn't bother with the Noico. Next, I used the $14 roll of 10mm insulation foam (Temu, best seen in the "door" episode of my ND series), cut strips of about 4 inches wide, and basically tiled the firewall, making additional cuts to allow for the tubing and connectors and all. I'd say I had maybe 20% coverage for the Noico (to prevent noise from being made), and maybe 80% coverage of the insulating foam (to mute any noise from being transferred through the firewall). I absolutely recommend doing it. It won't look pretty, as it will be piecemailed together, but 1) who's going to ask to see under your hood? 2) it allows you to keep most of the engine noise out of the cabin. 3) it allows you to keep most of the road noise from transferring through your strut towers. 4) it helps keep the engine HEAT out of your cabin, as the insulating foam not only blocks sound energy but also thermal energy Hope that helps!
@ToniML200Ай бұрын
@@OutsideTheTargetDemographic That's very helpful, thanks! But just a second. On which part of the firewall did you apply this? On the engine side? Also, how did you get to that side? Wouldn't the engine be in the way?
@OutsideTheTargetDemographicАй бұрын
@@ToniML200 Everything I mentioned was on the engine side. My final video of the series shows what I did to the firewall on the inside/cabin side. The engine, and like seven houses and tubes, were in the way. Hence why I did not use a single sheet of foam, but opted to cut it into 4-6 inch wide strips, and applied where I could. Too thin of strips and the adhesive mat not stick well enough. Did what I could. 🤷

@@OutsideTheTargetDemographic stunted refers to over populated and very small. That tends to happen when another species do not keep their numbers in check. Very nice! I’m in the middle of remodeling (downsizing) our garden. Post hammers are worth their weight in gold. I’ll never set another post without one.
@@SigogglinJack I saw the price and was not sure, but it was like a dollar a stake, and that helped out things in perspective. 🤓
Raw linseed oil is much more effective than BLO by the way, not sure what you are using. But someone mentioned BLO in the comments and to anyone wanting to try this you really should be using the raw stuff. It's so much better penetrating, it gets into all the nooks and crannies as well as getting into existing rust and stopping it.
@@1873Winchester That's what I read too, and luckily my stuff is not boiled. Takes a few days to fully dry. 👍
Did you use motorcycle specific oil? You know you need that because of the wet clutch, right?
Truth
Can you link where you got the linear comp from? Would like to try it on my dagger as well. Thanks!
"1/2x28mm linear compensator" in ebay. I have like 5 of these, with three more on the way. I have replaced every A2 Birdcage on my ARs, and used these on my Sub 2000, Taurus TX22, and now this Dagger. Would, and have, recommend. 👍 www.ebay.com/itm/265351609122?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&mkrid=711-127632-2357-0&ssspo=5W6l-D0kTIO&sssrc=4429486&ssuid=C6PT51UMQGS&var=&widget_ver=artemis&media=COPY
If you get it for your Dagger, let me know if you have had feeding issues too. I imagine mine just needs to be worked in a little more to become reliable.
@@OutsideTheTargetDemographic that would be my guess is that once it’s broken in, it “should” be fine.
@@michaelnasser8697 It is a not-small amount of weight, being added furthest from the pivot point, of the dropping barrel locking system. The more the copper finish wears off the barrel, the smoother it might run. 😭
Interesting. I’ve heard of the Dagger, but never researched it. I’ve had several Glocks over the years but just couldn’t get past their damn thick and chunky grips. If I’m understanding you correctly, the grip on that isn’t as thick and more ergonomic? Really look forward to a long term review and especially a video on the linear compensator. Have been really thinking about getting one. Thanks for the video, very informative.
Palmetto State Armory is trying to make quality firearms at an affordable enough price that everyone could get into their 2A rights. Check into them, they will be running an Independence Day sale this week. OMG, YES. The grip is SOOOO much better, as if it were ACTUALLY designed to be held by human hands. Tbf, in the 1970s, Glock prob was limited on capabilities and polymer formulas, being 50+ years ago. I've been holstering this gat around the house and yard, and everytime I draw it...man does it fit the hand well. Quickly moving up the ranks of "favorite handgun". 🤓
@@OutsideTheTargetDemographic outstanding! Thanks for the info, I really appreciate it ole buddy.
@@michaelnasser8697 I may be mistaken but the FS grip is slimmer I believe than the comp one, at least to me.
I also have tiny hands and look forward to future updates.
Hey, it's possible I did not notice it, but do you have any video of you doing the firewall (0:19)? If not, could you please elaborate, on which part did you apply the material (inside / outside) and how did you get to the firewall? Thanks a bunch!
@@OutsideTheTargetDemographic That's very helpful, thanks! But just a second. On which part of the firewall did you apply this? On the engine side? Also, how did you get to that side? Wouldn't the engine be in the way?
@@ToniML200 Everything I mentioned was on the engine side. My final video of the series shows what I did to the firewall on the inside/cabin side. The engine, and like seven houses and tubes, were in the way. Hence why I did not use a single sheet of foam, but opted to cut it into 4-6 inch wide strips, and applied where I could. Too thin of strips and the adhesive mat not stick well enough. Did what I could. 🤷
@@ToniML200 If you check my most recent "Community Post", I @ed you with pictures of my firewall. Sometimes pictures tell you everything you need. 👍
@@ToniML200 Between all the things I did to my car, my uncalibrated cellphone decible meter app said I was averaging about 70dB while driving to work, and the actual decible meter now reads around 52 dB at 65mph on Cleveland "maintained" roads. Night and day difference.
Great color combo.
They did a good job on their quality and options. I'm excited for the next build.
I also have Forester and Centurion of 2000 year of manufacturing. They are also given by my grandpa. The Ceturion used to be my EDC knife for years (2000 - 2010). I didn’t even know what is EDC then 😂
Funny, how now "EDC" is a marketable thing, when humans have had to carry objects like stone knives, belts, and staffs, for hundreds if not thousands of years. We really do like to think we are special.
My oldest Victorinox is 80s Handyman with no hook. My grandpa gave it to me several years ago and it wasn’t used before. I only added plus scales to it)
40+ years old, and still working, I imagine. Thanks for the story. 🤓 I bought a Spartan on camo for my son, before he was born, while in Germany. When he is of age, he will get a tool that will help him adapt his world to him.
Wow great price! Great comparison. Of course this video didn’t show up in my feed. I sometimes run a 19 mag in my 26 with an X-grip. Thanks for making this video
Very impressed so far. Would not hesitate to recommend. 👍
Like new!
Great idea 🎉 love it on my car.
One thing I learned from experience of painting gun sites. Is if you use night vision make sure you use a color that it can pick up easily. You can get tritium and orange Trijicon makes that but you gotta buy the whole site.
Very cool! You’ve got a great range too
A couple of railroad ties with old tires behind it. Police approved. I also have 1 foot rebar spikes spiking out from in between the rails, to act as steel gong hangers. Between steel and paper plates, balloons, and clay pigeons, we have fun out there. 🍻
Great idea! I’d have never thought of that.
If you drive a reliable car, odds are other people drive that same car. Around here, a not-small ratio of people have Subarus, and the Outback is one of their best sellers. The color absolutely makes a difference, especially in the dusk/dawn/night. 🤓
It looks way smaller than you described. I'd get something that eats bluegill. In texas that is largemouth bass. Without them you'll have a whole lot of stunted bluegill.
The size varies, as it is more of a "water reservoir" than a pond. It isn't very big, and I know video doesn't always do size/distance justice. "Stunted bluegill". What do you mean by that? They seem to be both physically larger and in larger numbers than when we threw them in. Do bass do well in stagnant water? The water is clean enough to have salamanders around the rim, but there are no currents or flows.
@@OutsideTheTargetDemographic stunted refers to over populated and very small. That tends to happen when another species do not keep their numbers in check. I think there is a hormone that fish emit that stunts their growth. Running water dilutes the hormone, stagnant allows it to concentrate. The pond looks healthy, bass would do fine. Just keep the numbers low.
@@heronthere Shiny, thanks, Friend. I freely admit I am ignorant on this, so any insight is appreciated. I'll look into largemouth bass. 🍻
@@OutsideTheTargetDemographic you did good letting the bait fish and vegetation establish before adding the predator fish. It will result in a much more balanced pond. Most people lack that patience.
Great comparison video! The side-by-side with the Glock 17 definitely helps illustrate the differences.
Thanks, Friend. I originally thought the "compact" was a Glock 19 equivalent, and the "full size" was a Glock 17 equivalent, making buying the "correct slide" a concern, but after getting the three pack, I better understand what the website did not make clear. Thought I would pass the info along. More videos to come. 🤓
Also, thanks for the sub! 🤓
Red LED blinks 10 times and not heating
Clutch maybe
Did you get it fixed
I did. Our mechanic did a leak test, recharged it, and Co firmed no leak. $160. Welllllll worth it. This recall *could* have reimbursed me, but my car wasn't effected by the recall.
