My experience with screens is that they work better if they are wide and low. I find a half faring with a low screen is all you need for clean air around the upper body. I also like to have clean airflow around the helmet to prevent visor misting and to clear raindrops. Tall narrow screens cause buffeting around your head. Good stuff. I find a down gillet packs tiny and is lovely in the eve, and then makes a perfect down pillow when you fold it and put it in a pillow case or the packing cube I take my clothes in. Also, a down camping quilt is way better and more compact than a sleeping bag.

Enjoyed your video and agree that quite a few KZread bike reviewers whinge about quite pointless things and make ridiculous comparisons, maybe they should stick with a car or just get the bus. I test rode one of these about 2 weeks ago and really liked everything about it, especially the looks. The engine is strong through the rev range and doesn't feel or sound stressed even under load. It does lean over a bit on the side stand but so what and on some cambers that can be of benefit, I have the opposite issue on my BMW R1200R ...... you just get used to it and park up accordingly. I've had quite a few different bikes over the years and this 450 is as well finished and put together as anything else I've had. Bought a Hunter 350 a year ago and love it to bits but it might have to go .....??? Enjoy your new Himalayan ...... I am a bit jealous 😁 All the best, Phil (Somerset)

I almost bought a NX500 and had some angst about going for the Himalayan, but I can tell you I am now 100% certain I’ve made the right choice. I absolutely love this bike. My other bike is a Harley Davidson Ultra, which leans just as far on the side stand and literally weighs over half a ton when me, the missus and all our luggage get on board, so I have no worries at all about the weight of the 452. The maid(wife) was in France. Had to fend for oneself 😂. The dog got a piece of toast and a sausage out of the deal 👍
Will be getting my crf300l soon and will be new to greenlaning. I got tired of the expensive maintenence of a sports bike and weight and bored of the roads. Im 5'4" and 10 stone and suits me well and looking forward to learning new skills.
its a brilliant and easy bike to live with. the power is just enough to do most trails, but not too much to get you into trouble.. I ride all year round. Enjoy yours Thanks Mike
Ha ha . All day breakfast..
Can’t beat it 😂
Nice vid mate cheers. Waiting delivery on the 450. Do you have a link for the GPS mount? Cheers
Cheers mate. here's the link www.ebay.co.uk/itm/375445614898
Spot on. 👍 Exactly why I purchased mine, keeping my KLX400r for other rides.
I'm with you on that, its nice to have both bikes in the garage
You have fitted them wrong... you do need the first piece you - if you ask the supplier they will send you a video
Many thanks, I will contact the seller and get the instruction video
Excellent content, thanks
Glad you liked it!
Look great 👍
Thank you! Cheers!
Great review. I got a similar mah and it's a solar one. In orange. Ha ha.
Cheers Taf. at least it wont get lost in orange.
Good stuff. I find a down gillet packs tiny and is lovely in the eve, and then makes a perfect down pillow when you fold it and put it in a pillow case or the packing cube I take my clothes in. Also, a down camping quilt is way better and more compact than a sleeping bag.
Many thanks for the tip. I think the down gillet as a pillow is a great idea, and one I will adapt to my kit. Cheers Mike
It may not be ideal if, like me, you have a screen fitted to your bike, as the camera would be looking either partially or fully through the screen, potentially degrading the footage quality.
Good point. I have just fitted a tall touring screen for the 450. I will take that out and so how it films. Regards Mike
Thanks. Interested in the difference the screen makes. The Himalayan 450 does come with 5v 2A Type C USB charge outlet mounted just between the handle bar mount brackets viewers. Just FYI.
Many thanks, I will update the ride and review over the next couple of days. Yes the factory USB C port is a nice touch on the bike and very neat.
Nice vid mate 👍. I'm looking to do the same
Cheers Mate. It makes a big difference to the bike and I would highly recommend the upgrades.
Great feedback, (Crumbe esk?) Looking forward to the next one
Many thanks. I have some accesories just arrived from India. Only took a week from ordering, which I will fit and review over the next few days. Cheers Mike
Sums up mine, done 400 odd miles so far woukd have been much more but I got 2 days before going to Italy for a fortnight and I have had to run my GSA in after new engine casings. To sum mine up it's the small bike BMW should have made anyone want yo buy a 21 plate R1250 GSA Rallye TE one not so careful owner 😍
Cheers for sharing, enjoy the rides, II will give the GSA (one not so careful owner,( lol, a miss but thanks for the offer
Hi Phil, thanks for your comments. Really made me laugh when you sai,d they should get the bus lol... and I totaly agree its somthing you will gat used to. I use the side stand a lot when parking, its really w=easy to put on and take off. I also concidered a Hunter 350, really nice bike.. RE has got somthing for everyone at the moment. Cheers Mike
What made you go for the base model Kaza Brown?
Honestly, it was the one that was available. But to be fair it is now my favourite. Looks much better in real life. Very happy with it.
I’ve seen all the colours in person and aside from the hanle black, I think the kaza brown is the better looking.
I’ve had my 452 for a few weeks now - first service next week. But I can tell you with certainty, the 452 is waaay more fun than the Harley!
Thanks for adding your comments, and really pleased you are very happy with your 450. Nice to have an HD Ultra as another bike in the garage. Ride safe pal.
Loved that .great vid. The bike with them Michelin Tracker tyres looked really stable on that terrain.
Cheers Bud. Yes the trackers just inspire confidence and grip. Highly recommend them
