I've had 2 test rides, which were in total 3 hours, it's really impressive. I got 80mph on an up hill A road. The suspension is quite hard but smooth. Handling on road for a 21" front wheel is impressive. Hardly any vibrations through the pegs. The engine for a 450 single really goes when you rev it. I'm looking for a bike that does everything, touring and off road. The test bike had 1100 miles on the clock and was getting 82 mpg. So its good for around 250 miles. At 5ft 10" l can flat foot it. The only thing l found was it's quite a long stretch from the seat to the bars but manageable. It basically ticks all the boxes and feels like a quality build. RE have done an amazing job. Can l give a big thumbs up to Groombridge Motorcycles in East Sussex who had their demo available a month ago and if anyone's struggling for a demo or to order one they are very accommodating (and no l don't work there). Cheers for your review l know you're love, your new ride 😊

Thanks very much for your comments. It seems we are both in agreement on this bike. I pick mine up on Monday, so can’t wait to get some miles in. Great shout out to Groombridge motorcyclists. Thanks Mark and Ride safe.

Great review, not long picked mine up for a everyday rider. So far very happy. Not concerned with tubeless. Congrats on your purchase.

Thanks for your comments. Good to hear that you’re happy with your 450. I too am not that concerned about tubeless. I’ve repaired many of roadside punctures. Cheers Mike. .

Spot on. 👍 Exactly why I purchased mine, keeping my KLX400r for other rides.

A good review and pleased you got one. I cancelled my Nov 23 deposit a while back as there was no guarantee on delivery for the tubeless ( when I cancelled) I too found it vibey and the side stand needs some attention as well as them listing the lower seat for us shorter riders …. All enough to bump my buying into the future possibly. I’ve subbed as I like the style and be interested to see how you get on with the new bike. I’ll carry on enjoying my much travelled 411 but watch with a bit of envy and interest in your travels and long term review ride safe thanks for the content

Thanks for the comments. The 411 is a hard bike to beat. Although I have never owned one I have friends that have traveled miles and counties on them. I agree RE will need to sharpen the pencil on a couple of issues but overall I think it’s going to be a winner. I’m looking to put a lot of miles and various trips on this 450. Thanks for the sub and support. Really appreciate it. Ride safe.

Bang for buck it’s good value these up grades are what the public have wanted and I think the designers and engineers have delivered ,it was designed for Indian roads not really for English wet single tracks you need a dirt bike for that you got to be realistic about it ,what it says on the tin the Himalayan 450 will do,jimmy Australia

Hi Jimmy Your absolutely correct. this is why we need to adapt our bike according to the country, climate and road conditions. This is a great travel bike for the UK roads but would not replace my CRF300L for the tough stuff. and to be fair for the price of both these bikes, its still coming under an average midsize adventure bike. Thanks for your input mate, much appreciated .

Liking the look of the bike but no dealers near me stock them so will have to travel to take a look

It’s a shame that RE dealers are not stocking the 450. It is worth the extra travel though

Honest review and then you bought one! I ordered mine last year but Hanle Black Tubeless so my delivery looks like next month at the earliest. At least I have had a test ride and my feedback would probably match your observations, "light enough but not too light" seems about right. Perfect for our 'off road' standard A roads, potholes and poor repairs, so looking forward to a few uk trips this 'summer' if it arrives? {waiting on bike and weather!) Now subscribed so waiting for more details on your Himalayan, thanks for the information. (some youtubers advise there is a delay on owners manual, did you get one with your new bike?

Thanks for your comments. Yes interesting to see more on the Uk roads. I collect mine on Monday, so will get the full bank holiday to ride it. Can’t wait I will let you know on the manual situation. I really wanted to hold on for the black with tubeless option Hope your delivery is not too far in the future

Good review. I have mine for a few weeks now. I'm looking forward to getting the first service, then I will have an overnight trip. I'm in South Australia so there is no shortage of gravel roads to explore.

Yes the bench mark is getting that first service out of the way. Then you can really explore south Australia hey. I’m jealous. What a beautiful country to in. Happy trips and ride safe.

I want the black one with tubeless, so wouldn't compromise to get it more quickly. But good for you and I hope you enjoy it. I've placed my order and as I don't want it until late summer anyway, time isn't an issue.

Well spotted. I had to cut quite a bit off the motorway section due to bad audio. The noise was coming from a loose chin strap on my helmet. I was gutted on the playback. Lesson learned though. Many thanks.
