    Thanks for watching! These specifically fix the leak that happens right at that windshield frame seal, where it meets the door seal. Theyve done a great job for us, but if your leak is elsehwere, and just pools in the same place, your mileage may vary.

    07-17. 18 was a weird model year because both the Wrangler JK and the Wrangler JL were being sold. So if you have an 18 JK you dont always get included in these year-spans. I don't see any reason these wouldnt fit a 2018 JK. They will NOT fit a 2018 (or newer) JL.

  • @SWBCrawler

    So far so good on these! It's been a while now since we installed these, they definitely improved the situation. We do sometimes get water inside, but we can usually blame that on the soft top not being seated properly on the tracks above the doors. I definitely would buy these again if I had a JK leaking at that windshield frame seal. But these are specifically to fix -that- problem, if your leak is elsehwere, they may not help.

    I asked the internet if a Go Pro could be used for welding and most replies were yes. Then I saw this video, so I clicked on the play button. When I watch You Tube videos where the description says welding, the bright light on a 42 inch color computer monitor hurts my eyes, so I usually have to skip ahead to watch the rest of the content. Believe it or not my Auto darkening Harbor Freight welding helmet set on 1 will auto darken watching You Tubers welding. If children are watching You Tubers welding, I'm sure it can damage their eyes, but do the content creators think for a second to use a filter? The answer is no. Thanks for posting this 4 years ago.

    Are you sure you aren't supposed to put the bushing on the ball, and then press that assembly into the body?

  • @SWBCrawler
    @SWBCrawlerАй бұрын

    Yea, I dont think it matters. You could put the ball into the bushing first, but then the bushing would be that much harder to get into the end. This didnt damage the bushing (which is why I greased it before pressing it), and got the job done. Theyre holding up great so far!

  • @xcpointx
    @xcpointxАй бұрын

    @@SWBCrawlerOn my RC bushing it encircles the ball so the hole for the ball is 10 percent smaller than than the mount. I haven't tried but I don't think I'd be able to squeeze the ball into that bushing or I'd damage it if I hit it in. Essentially installation is reverse of disassembly. At 4:32 you would take that assembly and press it into the mount.

  • @SWBCrawler

    @@xcpointx Yea. like i said. i think it'd work either way. in my case it pushed in with very little resistance. no damage to the bushing. I don't know that i'd be able to hammer it in, if that's what you're trying.

    I wonder if this winch is still working for you or if you still have it? I just e transferred a buddy some cash an hour ago to go in the morning to Princess auto and get me one but the one I get is unfortunately the Cable version but I have had lots of those in past years and they work fine too. Anyways being a cheaper china warn version made me think a bit harder but at the end it came down to the price, like you. Any issues with it?

  • @SWBCrawler
    @SWBCrawlerАй бұрын

    I had the same concerns. I Looked into it a bit before buying it, and found a statement from warn that the same warn engineering went into the vr series, just made by cheaper labor in china. Which makes me sad, but i like the price! Ive used the winch several times. One to recover myself from a pretty nasty situation where my tires were off the ground in a mud hole, i was resting on my diffs, and i was able to pull myself out. The other was a hummer H2 that was hung up on his skid plate, front tires off the ground, skid on a rock. I pulled him backwards with a snatch block. Ive done a number of smaller scale things with it too, and its holding up great. my ONLY complaint is the wireless winch controler. The battery died without even much use, it just died sitting in my recovery bag. Then, to replace it, the whole controler has to get taken apart, and the battery is not a standard grocery store battery. I THINK they have changed this design though, so look into that. Maybe its no longer a problem. I would recommend this winch, i like it, and its saved my bacon. Winch does winch things. :D

    @@SWBCrawler Thanks soo much for the reply, Yea, I had a hard time finding very many reviews on this and it is because of the remote, it is like all the places have the same generic ad for it and no reviews. I found one review that said it now comes with only a wireed remote and so I got a photo from my friend last night and sure enough, the box is marked right on it that the remote is now a plug in only 12.5 ft cable remote. I am fine with that anyways because that is the only remote I have ever owned on a winch except for the rugcel that I just had to send back before using since it was wound back wards and they have no support so I was worried using the in button to go out and out buttom to go in might eliminate or adversely change the operation of the brake so I sent it back. As for the warn, now that you chimed in I bet Im going to love it for my 95 Sahara. With the 4 inch lift nad 33x12.5's I think it will be the perfect add on and other then throwing a jacket over the cable when winching and only being able to use the remote wired I think it will be great anyways.I prob would have bought the Badlands if I lived in the US but by the time I shipped it and got it to BC Canada it was way too much, Anyways, just doing the CAD on my YJ so hopefully my friend will bring it next week and I can go find some mud and hills to play on. After the completion, we've had rain a few times, and NO leaks detected!!! The slanted top kinda makes it look like the old VOLKSWAGEN models, but my Wife AND everyone else just LOVES IT!!!
