Many LPNs had difficulty when I was in My RN program because they answered the testing according to what they do at their facility. That is the quickest way to fail a nursing exam. You have to answer according to textbook. Having experience helps with clinical and that’s it.

Some of the key points you made are the reasons why I wanna switch what I’m doing now. I liked this series. I start LPN school in October and I’m really excited. I was always scared to take the test to get in. When I went n took it I was tripping out like I was scared of this😂😂😂😂. But I’m really excited because I feel like it will be a great fit for me because I’ve been in home help and home health since middle school. It was never about the money for me but now being a mother of 4, I gotta throw that out the window because it’s a plus being able to work and get paid for what I actually like to do.

Nurse of 20 years! I’ve worked OR, medsurg, dialysis, case management, public health. I took 6 months off last year because I was burned out. Jumped back in to inpatient CM in January and I hated it. Left to do outpatient care coordination.. and I’m like I can’t! I don’t know if I’ve lost my drive, or I’m just tired of the nursing profession. Maybe it’s the M-F grind and I need to just work weekends. I’ve thought do I need to go back to bedside or just take a different path! Im a cancer too and emotions are everywhere. There is money to be made and I just don’t have the desire to make it… 😢

Before I became an RN I had it in my mind to get some exp working within the traditional medical system, I thought it would make me seem more valid if I were to pursue holistic care. I haven’t made my way back to the holistic side but I do believe that we can all heal ourselves beyond the hospital and a pill. Yh the VA policy has changed, I had to leave my Va job to do nursing school. They only do full time positions and that’s Monday - Friday. I was in the process of having them pay for my program and everything but school is fast past and content heavy I had to leave. If you work at the VA now, just make sure you leave on good terms, keep up the relationship with your chief and management so that you have a portal back in when you are ready to go back.

If the department is already under staffed and you want to move or go to school for something else, which means that in a year or two you will be leaving; yes they will give you push back the cooperate way.
