i had to rethink my priorities when a travel nurse i had treated me like a 2 dolla 304, just straight cancelling my contract 3 weeks in. smh. i said i will never let people do that to me again.

Shid, nurses better be able to know how to save lives in nursing homes too. I worked one night where a patient coded on another unit, and none of the nurses on that unit knew how to do CPR correctly., so they barely even touched him. Apparently the cpr certification doesn’t mean one actually knows how to perform cpr. The patient died and of course it was covered up by the nursing home.

I just got into an agency working at hospitals cuz they pay shit as staff and hunny i prefer ltc bt i want hospital experience so i can start traveling again. When i do become an RN ima think ima NP and they better be paying me like one bt ive had some NP working the cart so idk if they cant find a job or they rather not deal w the headache.😂😂😂

ALL FACTS! I currently work ALF/LTC/MC as PRN and now they want PRN to pick up a holiday ! UUUHHHH you will get one this time but once I get what I need ie EXPERIENCE... I QUIT! PRN is as I see fit not you make me work a holiday that's cray cray.I have already made plans to spend holidays with my mom in another state! So I am not changing my plans!I will go agency come back up here get paid more and still NOT work a holiday. My full time job as a classroom nurse is pretty chill and some days I have to fight for my life lmbo. I ain't letting my PRN stress me out. I also have a PRN in HH because if the LTC don't work out I have another plan . Play with ya momma NOT me! rant over lol

Medicare is usually older ppl, it is federal. They are usually the preferred patient. Medicaid is a state benefit what younger ppl may have.

I've only been an LVN/LPN for 2 years. Im on Texas. I was a Medical Assistant prior. I want to work a lot of these agency jobs, but so scared they'll put me with patients that I dont know what to do with....should I seek employment at an LTC or SNF 1st to gain experience? I currently work at a clinic and an ER...no LTC or SNF skilles used...😢😢😢

Honestly you are the common denominator. If it were just one facility than okay but if several places are having a problem with how you work, than you may need to change how you work or your attitude. Take some time to reevaluate how you work, really think about what they are saying the issues are and change. Even if you feel like it’s lies or they are nit picking there has to be something that you are doing or how you are presenting yourself if several facilities are giving you a DNR/do not return.

@@yourfavnurseb9699 it’s because I’m nice but quiet and don’t sit at the nursing station and gossip..also because if they try to get me to do work that is not apart of my assignment but it’s staff work that the other employees don’t want to do, I advocate for myself…I literally am just doing my assignment..honestly when I worked with only men I had no problems..now that I work with only women I have issues everywhere I go…considering working as a manager in fast food or becoming a dog walker..thanks for your response ❤️

@Samarias_Place you are your motivation! Remember your why! I always said LTC wasn't for me, but it will open up so many avenues. I do ALF, SNF Memory care, and pediatrics because if I put myself in a box, I can't get mad if I don't have options because I placed myself in said box. I want all that nursing has to offer, so I stretch myself! Class nurse, home health prn, alf,snf, Memory prn because I worked hard for this. Now it's time to reap a harvest and help others.

@@MsLadytray I am now realizing how much I am limiting my self with sadly low confidence and allowing myself to feel defeated. I did not have a good first 3 years as a nurse and it lingers till today. But I am sick and tired of it. This year I am really stepping out in faith and doing things I never though I would. I can’t feel like this anymore. I have projects I want to fill Gil with my husband. I kind of made myself a part time nurse and stayed at home. But now I am thinking to myself is this me tapping out ? So yea, starting now and 2024 it’s whole new woman.
