Aquarium shrimp have been my passion for over 9 years now and I love Caridina shrimp but I enjoy keeping Neocaridina as well.
I also create videos where I share my experience with aquascaping and building planted aquariums.
I've just finished constructing my new garden studio and a new shrimp room. This marks the beginning of a brand new chapter in my shrimp-keeping hobby! Currently, I'm working on some interesting projects, including new tank setup methods and crossbreeding projects.

Hi, may i know the tank size hes using for breeding?
Retailer tanks you saw in the video are 35l, breeding 60l
Is it okay to mix all different kind of colors in one tank?
The short answer - yes for caridina, no for neocaridina
Love the voice from the game Stray! How do you prevent black beard algae from
I do nothing to prevent it. I only have it in one of my tanks and I have 18 tanks
Awesome and how much duration of light do you provide and wat you use to avoid black hairy algae.?
around 10h a day, I do nothing to prevent algae
It looks like that one you reset at 15:00 had mosquito larvae in it. Maybe they were eating the shrimp babies?
PERFECT. the reason i want a build like this is to keep cats out, and also off the top of the aquarium (would hate to have it weaken and bust.) this is the first time i've seen someone go over how to do the flaps. thank you!!
Superb sharing
now thats the reason my shrimp population from hundreds to 4.
Hi, can I know how you store the paste since you made a lot of it 4:49
Man, if you have too many aquariums, why not use their water in new tank instead of waiting for new tank to cycle with new water
Man, for your info bactria live on the surface not in the water.
@@ShrimpMania take some surface too into new tank
@@Maria-mv1zn if you watch the video I used soil from the cycled tank
@@ShrimpMania then why did you wait for the tank to cycle? Because you should use water too
00:48 the batman of shrimp keeping. Talk about preparing ahead of time
What led bar light are you using for your tanks . Please let us know so we can buy them from ali express.
I made them myself
@@ShrimpMania oh okay what is the strip name that your currently useing I mean the configuration
@@afnaanameer9111 more info in this video - MY LIGHT: kzread.info/dash/bejne/gX5omsdve7CcnbA.html
Hi do you set-up/start your cycling of tanks by just pure ro water or ro + salts or just plain tap water then after cycling add ro with salts ,Please explain us. Also where can i buy your ugfs from i live in Dubai.
I'm using Ro water for cycling my tanks then I adding salts before putting my shrimp in them. You can find links for ugfs in description
Do you already sell galaxy shrimp ? Where can i find it ?
nope I don't
Hey , how do you prevent mosquito larve in your shrimp tanks , im fed up with them!
It's not many mosquitos where I'm base so I don't need to worry about them
Great video. Both of you are also great at keeping the conversation flowing. Beautiful work.
Glad you enjoyed it!
Why do you mix different colors in one tank?
Why not?
@@ShrimpMania I assumed you breed em for sale. Why do you remove so much algae? Isn't it a food for shrimps?
@@DelkaSable yes but they they don't like it. Takes forever for them to clean it. You can mix red and black shrimp it's nothing wrong with that. Like you mix red and black crystal shrimp. You will have more of the black shrimp in the end because black colour is dominant in shrimp
Why do you remove algae if it the food for shrimps??
I think those worms were blood worms not mosquito larvae
yes you right I misspoke
Did you use ro water or tap water? If ro water, what tds did you remineralise to? What is the gh/kh for this tank. Love how big your flame moss grew.
Sorry but you have to watch it again to find your answers I mentioned all of that in this video
@@ShrimpMania I must of been busy working, and never finished watching the video. Cheers. 😃
Do you have problems with little bugs that swim fast in the tank? If so what are they? I only just started my shrimp tanks I love them 😊
whats the size of your shrimp tanks please?

@ShrimpMania thank you very much
I do not know if I have caridina shrimp but i would like to send you some pictures and videos of them.. and my tank. It's pretty basic but i kept guppies in it for about a year.
feel free to drop me pictures on email [email protected] I'll have a look
Awesome video! Thanks for the effort in creating.
Glad you liked it!
Hi, may i ask what soil do you use? since ada amazonia v1 is no longer available ive been trying new soils, currently cycling glasgarten environment 2 months in and soil has only dropped to 6.4 ph :/
Hey, the soil for Caridina is a big problem now. We still have ADA Amazonia ver1 for sale here in the UK but I spoke with many breeders and all of them complaining that is not as good as it used to be. I'm going to try to use ver2 in my next setup and see how it works. Yes the other brands not lowering the pH good enough I agree
It was a nice sharing, my friend. Regards.
Great video, thanks for sharing.
Thanks for watching!
Where do you sell your Shrimp? I would like to start breeding shrimp soon, but I'm worried that I won't be able to find anyone to take them on. I'll only be able to set up two aquarium cubes to start with.
Hey, the blue cherry shrimp are for sale now. The link is in the description
$4 per shrimp???🤯
Yeah, in my country which currency far cheaper than $. Still the pure red line (caridina one) sold for atleast 3$ each.
your shrimps are beautiful do you sell any?
Yes the link is in the description
do you make your own RO water?
do you have a video on your water system?
very nice clip and pictures . thanks a lot .
Thanks, glad you liked it
Did he say that lava rock buffers Ph and Kh?
Yes he uses some special lava rock not the ordinary one
Shrimp Borat, greetings to you, one more very good video! Enjoy watching your chanel.
Wish to have some of these caridinas but they're way too expensive in the Philippines and rare to find. Keeping my 1000's red cherries for now.
I feel your pain
I’m glad you mentioned when shrimp start to slow/stop breeding . I’m running into that issue with my crystal reds as well .
Yea it can happen in the old tank that's mean it's time to reset
@@ShrimpMania what if I don’t reset and introduce some new shrimp to the colony think that would work ?
@@d.washington2394 The reason for reset is because your soil has run out of juice over time and stopped buffering the water pH
@@ShrimpMania even though my ph is good at 6?
@@d.washington2394 I would still do a reset if your shrimp don't breed well, there are not much options to fix it
How many hours you provide light to your tank per day
around 12
very nice build and instructions!
Thanks. Glad you enjoyed it
Sorry to see all the issues you had with these setups! I'm sure they were frustrating but I'm glad things worked out in the end! Hope those metallic shrimp breed well :D
Thank you Rick for you support👍😊

I am from Thailand I would like to keep some caradina shrimps ... I love to see a video of how to use a chiller to a shrimp tank to control the temperature. Here in south east Asia the temperatures are sky high and if you want to have 1-2 caradina tanks investing on air conditioning would be very expensive. It would be great to see shrimp mania showing us a video on how to have a temperature controlled tank 😊
I know it’s hard for you to keep caridina due to high temperature. Aircon would be the best option for you. I have one in my shrimp room incase of hot weather (very rare event in the uk)
Haha expensive to have the Aircon turned on 24/7 😅 Do you boil the Indian almond leaves before adding to the tank ?
@@refakmakeen5248 I normally soak them in the water for a day or two before placing them in the tank, you can use boiling water to kill all bacteria
Hi. Cool video.
Hey, thanks
What you feeding your shrimp 🦐
Dead shrimp food, Shrimps affair food, Dead shrimp powder, Shrimp king
I've been thinking of making a ugf box out of oak to add grazing area for the shrimp. Can you think of any reason this might not work? Thank you
As long as the water flows through there’s no reason it can’t work. But one of the reasons you use glass is so that you can see under the mesh part to see if your is falling through the cracks (especially in the later stages when your soil starts to turn to mud and more will get stuck in the grate) and you can also constantly monitor and see if your flow is consistent (usually I’ll shine a bright light through it and I’ll turn off the air to let everything settle and then I’ll turn it up really high and I’ll see all the suspended particles suddenly start flowing and I can see if there are any spots where less is moving through, if that makes sense)
should work
@@Condoctucthank you, I thought I'd look out for demolished flow👍
