    It's pretty simple. The small 3bet pre-flop with a middling pocket pair is to build the pot in case you flop a set. The check on the flop is because he probably heard somewhere it's harder to get value when you have top set because your opponent has far fewer TPTK or Top two pair hands. He overbets the river to make it look like a busted flush draw in an attempt to get max value.

    That is not a “brick” on the river when you don’t have a flush and there is now a straight possibility. Dude could of had 45s and just went to town when he saw 63o come up on the flop.

    Here is thing... if you think he is a better player than you; just 5 bet or Jam flop or pre flop because against better players u simply reduce variance. Why let him make moves on you ? I play against better players or who are more aggro then me I simply play ABC poker if I have a great hand. Why play tricky against someone who u know is better player?

    Why aren't you 5-betting to 750-800? There are two hands villain could represent, A,Q with the A of spades and AA with the A of spades but you wouldn't know that because you just flat the 4-bet. Villain could have easily jammed the river with A,Q because you're under repped.

    Risk-reward for bluffing especially in late position is totally not worth it lol. Even if you say you put trips into a bluff, 1: Your in position and are more likely to bluff thus more likely to get called. 2: There is definitely a chance you have the winning hand checking it back 3: you are just never getting folds out of better hands enough to make this bluff profitable. 10-5 is literally one of the only hands this SHOULD work against every now and than, but even that hand called you down.

    I think this is one of the few unhelpful Bart's videos because Bart didn't really get the caller's frustration in the first place. Someone who can help the caller must have been to that stage first and walked out of it himself instead of denying the feeling of frustration.

    I’m way more worried about A5spades than A10spades or even AJspades given villain 4bet pre. Also I don’t see QJ/QT jamming river for full pot for value. AQ is the razor thin minimum value hand for Villain when jams for pot on the river targeting specifically hero’s KQ. Even that’s shakey. That being said my gut says KK with the Kspades is a call. You beat the very bottom of value and his most often bluff, AK. And I just think there’s so much AK,AQ here. AA,QQ,A5spades all there to crush souls tho so I maybe fold KK no spade

    @@patrickgunning6923 I don't think A5s is 4-betting. I can see AJs, maybe A10s but those hands are pretty standard calling a 3-bet in position though. I can definitely see villain jamming the river with A,Q because we're under repped. Flip a coin, I can see villain with AQ or AA.

  • @patrickgunning6923
    @patrickgunning69234 сағат бұрын

    @@ThePatriots010304 Obvi there’s wiggle room but generally; suited A-rag kicker type hands make excellent 4bets as they 1.) weaken your 4bet range, allowing you to get more value with your strong hands 2.) Draw to nut flushes and straights and 3.) Block your opponents from having as many A’s. Mostly all proficient players are 4betting A5 suited as a bluff with some frequency. Also, it doesn’t matter how we repped our hand. Name 1 hand (other than KQ) that hero gets to the river with and can call a slightly larger than pot sized bet that is also loosing to AQ. If villain can’t get calls from anything he beats then he can’t value bet AQ which means he’s inadvertently bluffing with it.
