If I had those LEDs on my KLR I would turn them on all the time they would be on during the day to keep idiots from pulling out in front of me. Just in case you really want to keep the bike for a long time you might want to get the doohickey mod "which is the counter balancer chain tensioner" and the thingama Bob mod "that's a thermostat modification to keep the bike running at a good temperature when you're in traffic". Kawasaki does know about the doohickey it doesn't seem to give a darn about it because not that many people put a lot of miles on these bikes believe it or not. They say the justification for them to do the modification just dont play out because of the warranty payout doesn't call for it. If you just do those two modifications and do your oil changes, and you know and keep up with the maintenance and of course don't ride it hard you could probably get over 100,000 Mi on this bike.

I have 23,000 all hwy miles on my '22 Adventure model. Plenty of bike for me. My bike sports a Seat Concepts Commuter Low touring seat. Recently did a single day 551 mile ride, this seat made a difference. Thank u, good job with the vid!

For their 2020 line, I never had a single issue. Between months of rolling it up for transport, and then months of keeping it on a trailer full time with a 15hp Tohatsu on the transom, it was great. No years, cracks etc. For a cheap Amazon purchase, I'd recommend it! They also make a new 14.5ft (?) heavy duty boat with an aluminum transom now. I think it's available on ebay. They seem to be taking their boats into a higher quality

I test drove a very low mile 2024 KLR 650 today. I was very disappointed with the power and lack of pull under acceleration. I wasn't expecting a power house but thought it should have much more pull. I have a 900 Vulcan and 1700 Voyager. They both pull much more and are much heavier. Guess it's not for me. Going to try a 650 LT Next. Good luck!

It's funny to me how many KZread 3rd gen KLR's you see have aftermarket mirrors already. The stock mirrors work fine. I broke one of my stock KLR mirrors once and welded it back together and I've been using it ever since than. It's going on 15 years. I didn't change my stock foam air filter until it reached 35k miles. There is nothing at all wrong with a completely stock KLR 650.

So the fastest I've gone so far was 80mph, at least displayed on the dash. This bike, for me at least, is 3 digits faster on the display screen than actual GPS monitoring. So I was really going 77mph. Handled fine! I got the windshield extendor pieces and it makes a noticeable difference. I haven't done too much gravel roads yet! I'm gonna make a video on that soon. But I didn't feel like the bike was gonna lose control on me. I feel in charge whenever I'm riding, nothing feels out of my hands or sketchy. It's a comfortable feeling bike, apart from the stock seat! Lol. I've been looking into these bikes for years and I'm glad I have one now!

So on the highway, it's the "wildest ride in the wilderness!". I've been wearing padded cycling shorts under my pants lol. Swapping out the stock tires is recommended too. That truck looks good but you are going to need more than two screws to go the distance, especially if you get into some ruff terrain. Even if you have to drill some new holes I would get two more bolts in there. You could also just skip the mounting plate and bolt the box directly to the rack. That’s what I ended up doing on my DR 650.

@@OurMagicalJourneyFL what booboo head is talking about is the KLR Doohickey and Thermobob (these are actual things, Google). The only reason anyone knows about these things is because everything else on a KLR lasts so long that it makes these two issues stand out. The Thermobob upgrade should be first if you want to keep the cylinder temperature consistent (always a good thing, and helps keep the KLR cylinder clearances tight over time). The other is replacing the Doohickey, which the Doohickey itself on the Gen 3 isn't the problem it used to be, but the Doohickey spring very much is, and the spring should be replaced before the bike hits 4k miles. Do those, and there are several examples of KLRs that got past 200k miles, and one that's close to 300k.

I enjoy Sea World San Diego. The whole company is transitioning to coasters, but I like this era where you can still see the orcas and also get some decent rides in. Aside from that, I love that the parking lot in San Diego is right next to the park, and it's so easy to go back to your car and duck out for a cheaper lunch. As with most non-Disney, non-Universal parks, you gotta go in with lowered expectations. The operations aren't going to be on the level of Disney. Somehow the food prices are more exorbitant than Disney. You have to learn how to enjoy it for what it is. With annual/season passes, you have to expect some bad days but with the knowledge you can always go back and try for a better day.
