Well deserved, Quinlam spent his life with his hands in the air appealing, passed that on to sexton and o’mahony. It’s not soccer lads.

Another example of just how bad Nigel Owens has become as a ref it's the Nigel Owens show now days I hate to see him in charge I thought the Wayne Barnes show was bad enough but I now much prefer Barnes over Owens that was a yellow bordering on red and a penalty try

that is a legitimate tackle, the only reason he was hit on the head was because he went down into his hand after the tackle started on the shoulder, and he lost the ball before his arm got anywhere near the head

the tmo voted in favour of o'leary because the hit came chiefly on the shoulder. Stringer has been a miraculous tackler, but close in, nobody does it like o'leary. He did something similar v clermont around the same time, stopping benoit baby on a great line 2 yards out. "O'Leary's tackle on Benoit Baby"

He didnt come in from the side and straight off his feet, watch from 2 seconds to 4 seconds. Quinlan pushed him in the side and onto the ground and got the penalty, thats the nice sneaky kinda stuff I love doing myself. It was more of a closed hand push then anything.

Usually the smaller men are better because they have learnt early to tackle without getting hurt. I agree there is a feel to it as much about the selection of the type of tackle for each moment. But although he will never be great it must be possibly to improve. It's. Moot point because he is at the end now. I would be surprised if he is on the Irish panel by the end of the season, depending on injury.

  • @timfrost08

Its not that he's not willing but like you say his technique is awful, just a complete spacker....... there are many little men who were great tacklers, like George Gregan..... its about attitude and technique. They say tackling can be learnt and is about attitude...... O'Gara proves this is not always true...... I honestly believe he has no natural feel for it whatsoever.
