    Strangely, large green olives work for me, though they are not very portable as the oil can seep out of the container. For that a small plastic zipp bag protects well enough.

    What if you're already so deep in the rabbit hole that you can't and won't find a way out if it? Feeling like i want to end it because im hopeless. I now know what I'm dealing with (borderpolar) , and i know how and y i think, feel and tik. And i hate myself for it, i can't see a way for myself to live a happy and good life. My Financial status is horrible, and i can't work, I've tried so many times but ended up making so much trouble and being angry at everyone around me. Im not ok enough to go out and do stuff, but if i won't go out to work and fast, im going to be homeless soon. Yeah try dealing with depression and mental illness when you don't have food or a place to sleep at. Y not give up and end it while i have some dignity, and not die alone and pathetic in the streets? Can't see a way out, don't feel like a warrior and don't want to be 1.

    My wife will not even try to listen to what I'm going through and gets angry with me. I can't understand and just want her to be here for me but she keeps getting more and more angry and confrontational but won't see that I'm hurting.

    I wrote this a few days ago in a bipolar women’s support group and I impressed myself so much I’ve saved it. - Ree Advise for the newly diagnosed 1. You are still a person deserving love and respect. 2. Learn everything you can about our illness. You can start a post asking for book recommendations and you would get an awesome reading list. 3.If you’re challenged (like me) about reading, KZread bipolar videos. Short, sweet bite-sized info you can work through at your own pace. Great for watching and discussing afterwards with a friend or family member. If you choose this, I recommend you start with the ones by Polar Warriors. 3. Community support is actually crucial. Here is where you come when you’re hurting, when you want answers for a specific problem or a general issue, when you just need to reach out and touch someone, when you want to know about specific med effectiveness or potential side-effects, when you want specific life-hacks or coping tips, when you are feeling anything out of normal, when you want to love on and support other community members. 💜 4. Trust your doctor and your therapist. If you don’t trust them, it’s time to find another. 5. Different meds work differently and have different potential side-effects depending on body chemistry. If your insurance will pay for GeneSight testing, it’s worth the effort. 6. Med trials (the process of trying different meds/doses/combinations for what works best for you personally) can take up to 2 years (but some folks get lucky the first time.) 7. Do not wait to talk to your doctor if you feel something’s wrong or a med might be causing a poor physical reaction. Call right away and ask to speak to the nurse. 8. There is a light at the end of the tunnel (and it’s not a train!) Many, many people have fulfilling lives, good careers, long-term circumstances. It just takes a little time to get there. Be patient with yourself. 9. Always, always treat yourself with the same love and care you would treat your BFF if she was having the same problem. 10. There is not a single women’s issue that is not bipolar related. Everything we experience is filtered through a bipolar lens. Feel like you can discuss anything that concerns you here. 11. Breathe.

    Thank you for the informative video. Before I was recently diagnosed I always thought I had a "character" that was just artistic. The weird artist in a sense. Then as I got older my "bounce" got more and more severe. To the point that I no longer could mask out the symptoms and those themselves got excessively extreme from: absolute isolation, to buying everyone gifts and being everyones best friend as well as being the centre of all attention. I'm still waiting for the exact form of BP that I have and am just getting used to the feel of the meds I have been given. There is one thing I'd like to add: when I am bouncing up, I tend to be more fearful about the drop to come. Also when I'm at my low point I tend to be regretful about how I was in my high point, if that makes sense.

    My friend kinda girlfriend has bi polar and she is terrible at calling or texting back. I try not to be mad about it. How should I respond to it do you think?

  • @PolarWarriors
    @PolarWarriorsКүн бұрын

    Hi @scottpanek9159! Thanks for taking the time to comment (and a very warm welcome to the Polar Warrior Community). Timing is so important. I'm always more social when in an elevated mood, and much less social when I'm struggling with depression / anxiety / panic. Give her some time to respond, and when she's in a good place to talk, come up with a plan for the next time she loses communication with you. Take extra good care of yourself and I hope you will continue to stop by the channel. -Rob Whittaker, Polar Warriors

    Recently diagnosed type 2 here. For me, I’ve realized it depends on how my direct boss is. If they are chill or not micro managing, then it can be great. But if they are on your a**, the worst of me came out unfortunately

    My mother was bipolar and so are 3 of my 5 siblings! I am fortunately not bipolar but struggle with depression at times. I have taken meds briefly when needed and have spent years in counseling taking care of mental health. I don’t know why I’m not bipolar and mentally strong when so many in my family are not. Almost bordering on guilt because I see them suffer and I don’t! At least not like they do but I do suffer on the other side of their illnesses because I feel helpless when I try to support them! 😭

    Hi Jerry =). I appreciate your comment so much. A very warm welcome to the channel. What you said was moving. It would be a great topic to address in a video, or one of our support groups for family / loved ones. Email me when you can: [email protected]. Perhaps I can invite you to one of our Zoom meetings. -Rob Whittaker, Polar Warriors

    I have bipolar ii and am curently on two mood stabilizers which really made my life so much easier, however, for me what makes me consider (weekly) to stop treatment is all the prices that add up to so much more then i would feel okay spending on caring for myself (meds+medical insurance for therapy and psych). Glad i have a loving husband to remind of why i keep fighting agains this horrible illness and assert me that it is okay to spend money on myself.
