  Something that may or may not be obvious and if this subject has been covered I appologize but as the piece is lifted from the water the actual weight increases due to the bouyancy of the piece when it is submerged as opposed to being clear of the water.

  poor chessy june 1st. the piece has been up and down twice so far. According to us army there is lots of wreckage on the road bed and it seems to be a problem today. caroline

  Has any thought been given to retain the remaining bridge pier for a Memorial ? Six pieces of the salvaged steel beams could be chained to have flame cut plate names of those perished between the legs under the horizontal concrete cross beam. Flame cut 1957 - Francis Scott Key Bridge - 2024 from plate salvage could be mounted atop the concrete.
