I hope you livestream until that first ship goes in/out - that would give nice closure for those of us here on the No Coast (aka the midwest) who are watching! Thank you. This whole process has been fascinating. Years ago I lived in Maryland for a while, close to DC, but as a family we would go to Baltimore for special events. I had a “train” kid so would spend more time at the B & O Railroad museum than in the harbor area but I know how important the port is to the economy of the local area and I hope it’s up and running soon for the sake of the people it supports and who support others.

The reason the ship did not move. By the way was they had 10,000 tons of water in the forward Hull compartments. So I can only imagine it's going to take a couple days to pump all that out. They estimated the bridge ban to weigh 4,000 tons That's why they put 10,000 tons of water in the forward compartments. They wanted to assure themselves that it did not move. Definitely check out the AP video of it from the other side of the ship.

I thought they would remove more containers. Perhaps just enough to counterbalance the roadway and deck weight? It is beached, time is needed to assess any further damage. Well done by all !

The Dali didn't seem to raise up, maybe too much roadway. But you could see the bridge span sink into the water, didn't notice that yesterday during the LIVE stream. Thanks for great work, you can now take a few well-earned days off.

The Army Corp of Engineers stated that they filled the Dali with 10k tons of water to make sure it was stable.

Definitely sounded like loud thunder over our heads and we live in Essex Maryland. About 15 /20 mins away. No fireworks sounds here. Thank you for your coverage. Once the explosions went off live, it was about a 10-second delay before we heard it here. So loud. Unfortunately 6 people lost their lives... So I'm hoping their families can try and get some closure, even though I know they won't ever fully get it 😢

Having watched the livestreams leading up to this I missed the moment by 20 minutes. Damn so I watched the livestream from the beginning and just pretended I didn't miss it😂. I wanna watch the first deep draft ship sail through the channel too. I'm so curious about whether they move more stuff from the ship before they move it or after. And what the clean up looks like from here. Thanks Captain Andy for bringing us on this journey with you.

Watching from New Zealand. I wonder if they'll cut up and remove any more bridge components from the ship before attempting to remove the ship? It looks like the bow is still weighed down with a fair amount of steel and road way.

Totally off-subject; today on your livestream, between the detonation and the sound arriving at your location, someone near you said WOW. That was my voice. I used to work in retail, and made over 100 pages a day for the better part of 16 years, so I know what my voice sounds like coming back at me from a microphone/speaker setup. Just seems strange to hear my voice coming out of someone else. Captain Andy, I sure do hope you stick around at least until the harbor gets more normalized traffic. Watching your livestream for an hour or two everyday is kinda getting to be a habit. Then I look forward to your sped up version in the evening to better understand what i saw. Thanks for your coverage and updates, they are priceless!

Hi, maybe I'm wrong but in the simulation of the blast they showed more places with the explosion charges. Actually closer to the waterline, but there was no explosion. The plan had been changed ? Great video btw, tks for sharing

I think the rudder of the ship is no longer visible as it was when the bridge was pressing down the bow.

It appeared from a starboard viewing that some unexploded charges went into the water still attached to the long uprights. If that’s correct some extra caution clearing the debris might be warranted.

Nice cut from the live stream....... And now the clean up! And float to salvage...... CAPTAIN ANDY, ARE YOU STAYING FOR THE SALVAGE? SOUNDS MANAGEABLE AND MAY DELAY A BIT, MANAGEABL BUT BUT NOT A CLEAN FIGHT TO GET THERE....

That's the plan!

Looks to me like a lot is off the ship but there’s still roadway and some structure left. That may be necessary to get enough weight off the bow and raise the bow higher in the water and float the ship out of the transit way.

A bit surprised that it appears the Dali didn’t react at all or not much. I used the power pole in the center of the video and caught a reference point on the Dali. Watched the denotation a number of times in regular then slow motion and I can’t detect any change. Probably means there’s still too much weight on the bow and/or she is really stuck in the mud.
