    Getting ready to get a lesson from you. I am 82 and have been following stack and tilt for about a year. I like your suggestion of 80 per cent forward and wrench. I seem to be lost on the down swing. Thanks joseph

    Amazing, I've alway tilted my body not realizing how much my ball position changed and couldn't figure out why 75% of my drives were pulls to the left! I will practice this on the range asap. Thank you very much...

    Honestly this is amazing! I'm still struggling with I'd say fat but it's more like I'm using jcb golf clubs with my 2 and 3 iron I'd say am at 1 in every 7 are pure now and it's ridiculous I'm barly trying compared to all my years of golf before but my 2 iron goes 250 yards and that is all carry it went 198 yards before when I managed to get it and I was swinging away with all my might 😂 for absolutely no reason it would seem 😅

    To make square contact with this drill, are you rolling the forearms at impact? I do this drill and the ball shoots off to the right. And when I think about this while playing, I hit hasel rockets…

    Is that right hip movement behind and towards target a conscious movement you must initiate or does it happen by starting with turning L shoulder down toward ball

    So fairway woods and driver for me have always been push slices, even after I got (stack and tilt) lessons and control my irons better than ever. I just couldn't figure out what I was doing wrong. Watched this video last night and went out to the range today. My ball position was totally wrong this whole time!!! My wider stance and ball on the heel had me push slicing and I had no idea! I hit my first 300y carry drive today and it was ALMOST dead straight, just had that little bit of draw to it 😎. You're a game changer, Rob!!

    Rob, I very much appreciate your videos. To clarify my understanding, are you saying that we should retain the right wrist bend all the way through impact, with the right fingers still trailing the heel of the right hand? Or, should the right wrist “snap” at impact, going from flexion to extension, while still traveling on the prescribed arc? I hope that the latter is the correct interpretation because, to me, the “snapping “ of the right wrist is an integral part of motions such as throwing or hitting a ball or swinging a tennis racket. Thanks very much.

    Great video, on 'Crush the Can', however, I seem to be slicing the ball(R) when practicing. And the clubface is square at address. I seem to be hitting before the ball each time!? Is it just a case of keep practicing? 🙂Many thanks....

    Question Rob…how about incorporating “hands in” into the drill. That would mean the shaft is not parallel to the target line at P2, but conforming more to the grid. Good or bad idea?

  • @robcheneygolf1
    @robcheneygolf14 күн бұрын

    It's certainly an option. But "hands in" isn't shaft in at P2. In the model, P2 would have the hands and shaft lined up.

    I tried this technique a few years ago with marginal success. My problem was an inconsistent center strike with the clubface and golf ball. Therefore I stopped using it. Is there a drill I can do to ensure center contact w/o looking at the ball and clubface relationship?

  • @robcheneygolf1
    @robcheneygolf14 күн бұрын

    You can create a "gate" drill for the putter head to move through by placing two tees in the ground either side of the putter head.

    Rob, is there a distance where the putt is so long that is more important to “control” the putter? For example, is heads up still effective for a 50’ putt?

  • @robcheneygolf1
    @robcheneygolf14 күн бұрын

    Yes, it can be. The challenge as the stroke get is longer is that the body rotation required for the stroke increases and pulls your head/eyes away from the target which can be awkward to manage. Otherwise, the benefits of HUP still exist.

    Poor ball striking negatively affected my recent performance in recent senior cc and city senior championship. (74-6-8-9-8). Viewed Rob’s umbrella drill, hit 100 balls in home net, 60 in next days warmup and then played. Total transformation. Never hooked one shot, made three birdies and left four others in the hole just short. Easy 71. What a great drill!!

    Thanks Rob.I've hit the ball on the thinnish side for 40years though I've played off 12 and now I know why. I've stayed off the course for two weeks and practised focusing about 3 inches in front of the ball relentlessly.For the first time in my life I've had the joy of compressing the ball, much higher flight and that 'smack' sound of striking the ball correctly, not that horrible juddering click of a thin shot. Can I risk taking this to the course?

    Personally, I'm a "handle dragger". My swing tendency has always been to DRAG that handle through impact. Of course, results are extremely inconsistent. I can see right away how this drill will help to remedy that if practiced regularly.👏👏

    I really appreciate how you tied together the progression of drills of hit-hard stop-quick to 90-90-90 to the umbrella drill. All involving the exit half of the grid. I’ve spent years on the front half of the grid, but not enough time in the finish side. The concept of reverse engineering from the finish is helping me also…all about getting and holding the finish. Thanks Rob

    This was a revelation that really helped my pull hooks ( I never slice ) I saw this last night and went to the range this am and Holy shit what difference for all my clubs , I wanted to ask one unrelated question if you could only buy one of the two which would you get the hack motion or precision impact training aid

  • @robcheneygolf1
    @robcheneygolf14 күн бұрын

    Well, they are different price points and train in different ways. The HM will have more uses and is more of a feedback tool which you can use for a variety of different things. PI is a more of a traditional training aid providing the immediate assistance with changing the wrist pattern via the constraints that it places on the wrist. Both are great, just co consider you budget and uses before you decide.

    Thanks for your videos they have really helped me so much. My issue regarding the aids is a combo of price and benefit , the HM basis is about 2.5x more once you aid in shipping and duties

    Rob, again you've produced a quality video of which the lesson I know hits me squarely on an extremely weak point I've had dozens if not hundreds of lessons on my backswing, a good many on the downswing to impact, but NEVER one from impact to the finish. I have absolutely no idea where my finish will end up. I'm concerned this one will be a tough one for me to master but ready to give it my best effort. I've often thought this was an extremely weak point in my swing but didn't know how to address it. Thank you again so much, and I WILL get you some videos soon. Thank you so much again!!

    This is incredible Rob! I've just started working on S&T, and I just wasn't able to get that top of the backswing position that you see in every good player. I was struggling mightily. I figured I was just too heavyset or my arms were too short or I was too inflexible or something, and I would never be able to do it. Then I saw this video! That right hand being in the correct position and providing pressure is the secret sauce. It all fell right into place and I'm giddy! I'm wearing out the mirror watching me construct the arm structure over and over again...lol. Thank you so much!Your videos have had the most impact on me as far as developing my swing.
