02:17 JKway, Frankly, that was uncalled for, the Fairey Spearfish was not a bad aircraft just one that came too late as Fairey Spearfish was the replacement for the Fairey Barracuda which follows the dive-torpedo bomber thing that the Swordfish, Albacore and Barracuda could do it had the 1st ever remote-controlled dorsal turret on a torpedo bomber. We should cut the British some slack that they did not get around to developing an Avenger equal until so late in the war cause they were getting bombed night after night by nazis something the USA never had to deal with The issues described are the testing process was supposed to find as that is the whole point of flight testing, these issues of handling and visibility would have been fixed before the production started as there were 7 Prototypes planned to allow all the needed testing to be done the reason for the Spearfish and Malta Class Carriers being axed was the Americans bankrupting the British Empire which got the Malta Class cancelled and forced the Americans to do the job of global police because they stupidly withdrew the Lend-Lease way too early and it bankrupted the British Empire who were the ones keeping the trade lanes open

@@Knight6831 In hindsight I was a little mean to the spearfish but I still stand by it not being all that good. Also the bombing isn’t that great of an excuse. We absolutely could and did build capable aircraft in spite of the constant air raids. The firebrand entered service the same year the spearfish made its first flight and was a decent strike fighter even after all the cocking about turning it from a fleet defence interceptor into an attack aircraft and having its engines stolen. Sometimes it feels like our own air ministry was as big a threat as the Luftwaffe.

It's not a hill that I'm going to die on defending, but it is widely recognized that all the USN's fast battleships would have had much better hydrodynamics if they had been built with a wider beam. Most especially the IOWA's, with their "long and lean" hullform, which made them very "wet" ships. As most of us here know, they were limited by the dimensions of the Panama Canal. Don't get me wrong, I love VANGUARD, both in-game and IRL. It is such a shame she was completed too late, though I often wonder why she didn't do any shore bombardment duty during Korea.

During Vangaurd’s 1st full gunnery trial, the RN set up a target that suspiciously looked in size like the battleship Bismarck and put this target at 25,000 yards, the very same distance the HMS Hood was at 5:52 am when she opened fire at the Battle of the Denmark Strait, and she scored a hit with her 1st salvo. One wonders if the Royal Navy weren’t still upset over Bismarck killing their pride of the fleet and decided to find out what would have happened if Vanguard had been in Hood’s place during the opening of the fight.

At a point during her development, she had 1 twin mount 40mm Bofors-Buster AA Gun and 24 20mm Oerlikon Mark 14 Anti-Air Gun in 4 sextuple mounts Yes, the British looked at a 20mm Oerlikon in a sextuple mount.

The loyalty of the shipgirls can be explained by two things. Firstly, SKK has that superior resonance which allows the shipgirls to respond warmly to him and accept him as leader without TOO much effort. The other is that SKK frankly was hired for his management skills, both regarding property and people. He regards his fleet as being made of people, not "assets" or "warships" alone. His ability to patiently sort out back stories an personal conflicts, and inspire action towards positive goals, keep the shipgirls focused on fighting together towards the ultimate victory. And the more human they get, the better fighters they become. 4. SKK also has the knowledge given him by Fleet sources, Alliance sources, and a helpful person or two in other places than our own. This makes him the military leader with the most & best information which can be used to successfully combat and defeat the Sirens. It makes a difference.

I think this selection is pretty good, I might not agree with the Crimson Echoes one a bit because in the end it did not bring a lot to the overall story, but the one we took compiler down was a much better choice because is like the turning point where we stop seeing Observer and Purifier and more of the arbiters.

Wild that someone ACTUALLY mentions one of the DE options, people seem to hate the copy/paste WoWs ships when they're really the literal only options for decent main fleet ships. They do now get a few more cruiser options, thanks to WoWs with Tianjin, Dalian, Jinan and Sejong. We also saw a recent announcement for a new CA, however they specifically give Incheon to the Republic of Korea Navy, and not ambiguously in the Pan Asian faction.

I honestly prefer Halford, the way I was seeing it, our only real options were Minigumo or Udaloi, and when we already have an SE and NP ship, I much prefer spreading out the ships across factions, and not having double ship events. It makes sense for IB as they struggle with gatcha ships, SE has ZERO issue with gatcha, and NP while not much better than IB, still have a consistent enough fleet we don't really need another boring SR DD. Halford brings her unique DDV-ness, which we won't easily find anywhere else, and with her coming from WoWs, she gets to mount aircraft that actually do damage, and aren't in the skill. I personally am hoping she gets a standard fighter slot, so her Bearcats serve double duty as hers AND Kearsarge's natural equipment. We also have seen a DDV mount a standard dive bomber slot in a past collab with Shirakumi Fubuki, so imo it's not crazy to think she'd destined for a floatplane slot and no chance otherwise.

@@patreardan1727 How good the seaplane ends up being is entirely reliant on how good the tiny tim rockets will be. It could be a rocket fighter equivalent to the suisei model 21 with a heavy armour focus or it could eclipse it entirely. Her being here could be an advertising thing. WG still sells Halford both for in-game currency or as a drop from loot boxes and could be trying to get AL players to come over and spend. Especially since hybrids are one of their favourite gimmicks. While I don’t want to just assume the worst from them WG is known for being pretty scummy with microtransactions.

@@JayKaywayfor me as AL and WoWs veteran, Halford is bad, fcking bad, not only she is Hybrid (making her to be hated), she also a DD which a class that have already good spotting mechanism and have already full of task (capping, area securing, duelling with other DD, and distraction) and with her plane it's only making her useless because her plane can only attack one, while launching plane the ship are moving on autopilot making it easy target for enemy DD, and her gun are your standart Fletcher DD which having high ballistic making it trash for middle to long range gunboating and also making her premium ship and on lootbox making it even worse since most player that are playing there are only focus 2 thing for premium: Ranked, and Random battle Meta

As for aircraft carrying DD, we have (had) Shirakami Fubuki and DD with ASW plane - Cooper, IIRC.

nakhimov has less of an excuse of being an actual PR ship, Halford yeah, it was real but modernized in a way, but Nakhimov really just was a wet dream made by WG, a russian company, to give russia a tier 10 CV, yes, PR ships are all paper ships, and that's ok, but Nakhimov doesnìt even have a paper, Russia wasn't even considering building CV's, the whole project was based on another class of paper BBs since they were starte but hardly got to 10% completion mainly becouse of difficulties the sovie union had in making them, so basically Nakhimov is a what if project made fully by WG, with no real ties to real life, all of it based on a paper BB class ship that was not build for technical problems russia had in building ships...I am not really happy with this one but it was probably understandable, well, Napoli is the best out of all of them easily, fianlly the first UR for Italy, even if they are still lacking 2 UR compared to all the other nations

It was a totally made up creation based on the BPs of a turret while making up a hull from 0 of a what if Nurnberg was a CA, while Nakhimov takes the what if Sovetsky Soyuz unfinished hull had a flying deck and put the imaginary conversion of land based planes to sea ready ones.

Same with the rest of the Russian CV line. At least Serov and Pobeda are based on real proposed carriers based on the Chapayev and Kronshtadt hulls respectively. Meanwhile, Komsomolets is just a made up story of a carrier made out of a reconstructed training ship.

Often I rush the DRs first, but this time I will get Halford first since I'm Really curious about her mechanics in AL, and I can get her in no time. After her gonna go for Napoli and Nakhimov. Not gonna lie though, I'm honestly quite hyped for all ships this season, Napoli is one of my favourites in WoWs, very fun to play, and Nakhimov is just a beast, most of the time, if people complain about a ship being OP, it probably is in a way, hahahahaha. I wonder how they will implement Nakhimov single strike mechanic, I bet her strike will be crazy hard, but quite long to reload, a bit like Musashi with her OG UR gun. Also, so far, no news on which will be the UR/DR gear this time, so it could be a plane for Nakhimov or a gun for Napoli. Really curios to see if Halford will receive a hidroplane, maybe my Ise will benefit with a good fighter, that is making me even more hyped.

During Vangaurd’s 1st full gunnery trial, the RN set up a target that suspiciously looked in size like the battleship Bismarck and put this target at 25,000 yards, the very same distance the HMS Hood was at 5:52 am when she opened fire at the Battle of the Denmark Strait, and she scored a hit with her 1st salvo. One wonders if the Royal Navy weren’t still upset over Bismarck killing their pride of the fleet and decided to find out what would have happened if Vanguard had been in Hood’s place during the opening of the fight.
Tbh, it was a lucky shot. Some of Bismarck’s crew were shocked that she blew up. Not to mention Hood’s crew kept her ammo hoist doors open.

The loyalty of the shipgirls can be explained by two things. Firstly, SKK has that superior resonance which allows the shipgirls to respond warmly to him and accept him as leader without TOO much effort. The other is that SKK frankly was hired for his management skills, both regarding property and people. He regards his fleet as being made of people, not "assets" or "warships" alone. His ability to patiently sort out back stories an personal conflicts, and inspire action towards positive goals, keep the shipgirls focused on fighting together towards the ultimate victory. And the more human they get, the better fighters they become. 4. SKK also has the knowledge given him by Fleet sources, Alliance sources, and a helpful person or two in other places than our own. This makes him the military leader with the most & best information which can be used to successfully combat and defeat the Sirens. It makes a difference.

I think this selection is pretty good, I might not agree with the Crimson Echoes one a bit because in the end it did not bring a lot to the overall story, but the one we took compiler down was a much better choice because is like the turning point where we stop seeing Observer and Purifier and more of the arbiters.

I'm not a fan of Nakhimov's design. Like....she is supposed to be the sister of Soyuz, Sovetskaya Russia, and Blue MTZ.....I mean Sovetskaya Belarussia.....and Ukraina and Gruiza. And she's not "Adopted". I mean they still could have made her a cat. Just keep the similar coat and the menacing stature of her sisters.

Wild that someone ACTUALLY mentions one of the DE options, people seem to hate the copy/paste WoWs ships when they're really the literal only options for decent main fleet ships. They do now get a few more cruiser options, thanks to WoWs with Tianjin, Dalian, Jinan and Sejong. We also saw a recent announcement for a new CA, however they specifically give Incheon to the Republic of Korea Navy, and not ambiguously in the Pan Asian faction.
I honestly prefer Halford, the way I was seeing it, our only real options were Minigumo or Udaloi, and when we already have an SE and NP ship, I much prefer spreading out the ships across factions, and not having double ship events. It makes sense for IB as they struggle with gatcha ships, SE has ZERO issue with gatcha, and NP while not much better than IB, still have a consistent enough fleet we don't really need another boring SR DD. Halford brings her unique DDV-ness, which we won't easily find anywhere else, and with her coming from WoWs, she gets to mount aircraft that actually do damage, and aren't in the skill. I personally am hoping she gets a standard fighter slot, so her Bearcats serve double duty as hers AND Kearsarge's natural equipment. We also have seen a DDV mount a standard dive bomber slot in a past collab with Shirakumi Fubuki, so imo it's not crazy to think she'd destined for a floatplane slot and no chance otherwise.
Is Halford's aircraft going to be a new BiS aircraft for the ships that are locked to seaplanes? Is that the reason they're pushing a real ship through PR? Seems like a flimsy reason.
@@patreardan1727 How good the seaplane ends up being is entirely reliant on how good the tiny tim rockets will be. It could be a rocket fighter equivalent to the suisei model 21 with a heavy armour focus or it could eclipse it entirely. Her being here could be an advertising thing. WG still sells Halford both for in-game currency or as a drop from loot boxes and could be trying to get AL players to come over and spend. Especially since hybrids are one of their favourite gimmicks. While I don’t want to just assume the worst from them WG is known for being pretty scummy with microtransactions.
@@JayKaywayfor me as AL and WoWs veteran, Halford is bad, fcking bad, not only she is Hybrid (making her to be hated), she also a DD which a class that have already good spotting mechanism and have already full of task (capping, area securing, duelling with other DD, and distraction) and with her plane it's only making her useless because her plane can only attack one, while launching plane the ship are moving on autopilot making it easy target for enemy DD, and her gun are your standart Fletcher DD which having high ballistic making it trash for middle to long range gunboating and also making her premium ship and on lootbox making it even worse since most player that are playing there are only focus 2 thing for premium: Ranked, and Random battle Meta

As for aircraft carrying DD, we have (had) Shirakami Fubuki and DD with ASW plane - Cooper, IIRC.

I thought one of the Montana BB would be more appropriate. Though Ibuki is just as real as Z46 and Tosa, AKA they existed, but incomplete. Maybe Montana would be too similar to New Jersey and the other Iowas.

nakhimov has less of an excuse of being an actual PR ship, Halford yeah, it was real but modernized in a way, but Nakhimov really just was a wet dream made by WG, a russian company, to give russia a tier 10 CV, yes, PR ships are all paper ships, and that's ok, but Nakhimov doesnìt even have a paper, Russia wasn't even considering building CV's, the whole project was based on another class of paper BBs since they were starte but hardly got to 10% completion mainly becouse of difficulties the sovie union had in making them, so basically Nakhimov is a what if project made fully by WG, with no real ties to real life, all of it based on a paper BB class ship that was not build for technical problems russia had in building ships...I am not really happy with this one but it was probably understandable, well, Napoli is the best out of all of them easily, fianlly the first UR for Italy, even if they are still lacking 2 UR compared to all the other nations
Isn't that the same case for Roon? It was a totally made up creation based on the BPs of a turret while making up a hull from 0 of a what if Nurnberg was a CA, while Nakhimov takes the what if Sovetsky Soyuz unfinished hull had a flying deck and put the imaginary conversion of land based planes to sea ready ones.
Same with the rest of the Russian CV line. At least Serov and Pobeda are based on real proposed carriers based on the Chapayev and Kronshtadt hulls respectively. Meanwhile, Komsomolets is just a made up story of a carrier made out of a reconstructed training ship.

Often I rush the DRs first, but this time I will get Halford first since I'm Really curious about her mechanics in AL, and I can get her in no time. After her gonna go for Napoli and Nakhimov. Not gonna lie though, I'm honestly quite hyped for all ships this season, Napoli is one of my favourites in WoWs, very fun to play, and Nakhimov is just a beast, most of the time, if people complain about a ship being OP, it probably is in a way, hahahahaha. I wonder how they will implement Nakhimov single strike mechanic, I bet her strike will be crazy hard, but quite long to reload, a bit like Musashi with her OG UR gun. Also, so far, no news on which will be the UR/DR gear this time, so it could be a plane for Nakhimov or a gun for Napoli. Really curios to see if Halford will receive a hidroplane, maybe my Ise will benefit with a good fighter, that is making me even more hyped.

As a Russian and a big NP fan, I say that Nakhimov design is cool af, people should stop whining. My biggest concern is that her fanart is going to be either great or cringe. But Halford is an odd one, we will see if there is any reason for her being a PR ship.
