Rather surprising the old calipers still had the ability to move, most hedge-dwellers tend to need them replacing cos they turn into bricks of rust... :P

Hard to best the quality that was in the older car parts. A brake caliper that sat unused for years in a hedge still is servicable and modern day cars the caliper rots off them while in use. Reuse whats perfectly good is the way to go.

I regularly drove a B-reg van version of this car in 1986. If I drove it slightly too fast through a puddle it would die every time. I'd have to fettle with the plug leads and it would eventually restart. Apart from that, I bloody loved it.

very informative video, loads of good tips, how many people get carried away with the dugga dugga gun, seen loads, the bearing in the flywheel, not sure if its a bush or a bearing, but, on some you could fill the hole with grease, find a tight fitting rod (cut down broom handle for example) and hammer it in the hole so the pressure pushes bush out, i recently did a 2.5 di, (needle bearing) and used a slide hammer with the pulling jaws reversed, easier with 3 hands 😅 but came out lovely, thanks 6d, keep it up
