Some are good places to live, but most are only good to visit. Depends greatly on what type of lifestyle you are looking forward for and also on what values you like or dislike. For example, Chile is said to be very developed, but it has been flooded for many years now by funds from progressive ngo's and heavily influenced by it, so you'll see this country continue to fall and deteriorate quickly. You can feel how corrupted society is morally and politically speaking. Kind of like San Francisco a decade or two ago.
