Great video buddy, I've got the same model and I've only been doing it for a week and I've learned a lot of your video, I wake up every morning thinking that the day is the day and it's wake up in the morning again and repeating the same old mantra, but what I have learned in life is patience and every dog has its day, I'm just in the house with a new pack of AA and here's to tomorrow morning again. Happy hunting & good luck to all the Garrett crew.

Ground balancing is good but you lose depth when you use it.

if I accidentally touch the ground or weeds my detector beeps. it's a Garret detector. I guess my arm is just not strong and it keeps dipping down if I don't concentrate. Found some quarters in a tot lot but anywhere there is weeds or grass I get a lot of beeping that doesnt pan out. too much sensitivity? it is frustrating. At the beach the detector kept signaling nickels every where but nothing was there. I might have brushed the sand some.

A couple of things you can try. Put new batteries in and good quality ones. Hold your power button down until you here the “reset” chime. And yes adjust your sensitivity. But sometimes the ground in certain areas is more “metallic” than others and the 250 doesn’t have the ability to ground balance like some other Garrett models.

Hey man, I know this isn't related to this video, but You know on those 96 Civics at the passenger side door wiring that always cracks and breaks, I'm looking to buy those female crimp pins but for the life of me I can't find those little pins anywhere, do you have suggestions? Thanks in advance, it would mean a lot to me

I did my CRV a couple years back and used some pins I had here. They were exact but actually worked fine. But honestly if I was going to do it again I’d just solder all the wires , heat shrink and tape. The odds you’ll ever have to unclip it to remove your door is low. Also I’d do ALL the wires not just he broken ones

Is it ok to keep the black plastic sleeve over the coil? I see you have one on yours.. I didn’t know if that affects the detecting properties ?

The best upgrade for the 250 is HEADPHONES!(something with volume control).......because this detector has none, and the Bing gets Really super annoying after a while.....Trust me....the headphones let you Really focus properly.

I've been detecting since 2000, have/had everything from the Whites Classic 2 to the DFX300, Minelabs to Tesoro, run Czech Detecting Tours, magazine articles, I know my stuff. So, my father bought one of these some years back, forgot about it, guess who found it today in the pool house? I gotta say, this thing is about as good as it gets for solid old school detecting. Check out my Mike Hunt videos, Micheal And Eddie, he uses one when he's in the Czech Republic and I never gave it much thought, I will now. Great machine.

Thanks for sharing. All in all, I believe you've been fare in testing these units. The only thing you omitted but perhaps for lack of information, is, all the inexpensive upgrades one could to the Cen-Teck detector to make it a better competitor. But for the $ one pay for it (Cen-Tech), I would praise it rather than just comparing it as equals. Yes, they"re pinpointers, But one comes with the prize of a toy while the other is 5 times more expensive. Thanks again.

What country is this machine originally designed for? I'm in Canada and when I sweep any coin its erratic, I the machine won't determine what it is...its bouncing all over the place! Yours aint doing that! Does it sound like i have a faulty coil? Its new out of the box..also when I sweep any one item, its giving me all 3 ring tones on the same item at the same time. Plus when a strike a coin against the bottom of the coil, its showing a depth of 6-8 ". And to top it all off, when pinpointing, its way off to the side instead of being in the middle of the search coil where it should be! Should I through this $225 piece of junk out?

I think it's funny when the 250 says that it's 50 Cent and it ends up being 2 quarters.. But I also like the 250.. I found mine on the internet and it was practically brand new and I only paid $60 for it..

I am completely blind , and have a ace 250. The thing that I struggle with most is the depth of the target. Do you know if there is a device that can be used with the metal detector that that could audibly say the depth or the strength of the signal. That could possibly be plugged into the phone jack? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

  • @hondapartshero

Kc Long not that I know of. I know that most pin pointers vibrate and vibrate and beep faster as you get close to the target.

Stock coil is Perfect on this detector, it's Perfect for sniping threw trash. If you switch to a larger coil, you better be scanning Open fields....because you're Not going to have nearly the capacity to sweep threw garbage.....you're gonna miss a lot of signals in crowded areas.....larger coils are Only good for covering Large amounts of ground, usually for meteor hunting or gold.

check the coil wire wrapped around the pole of your detector, they are Notorious for setting off False signals.....The bottom area of the wire is usually Loose, and bumps against the Pole, and it sets it off.....just tape it down.
