Greetings all, my name is Annie! I'm a lover of vintage fashion, fashion history, costuming, cosplaying, and all the above. I consider myself a hobby hobbyist as I have dabbled in lots of mediums over the years. My main hobby however is sewing. I mostly sew clothing I can wear everyday but who can resist a making skirt meant for frolicking in a wildflower field? On this channel I plan on making a mix of practical clothing and more fun and very unpractical garments. The floral decal OMG what a great find and coming from someone who also doesn't like Regency- the colors here and the flowers won me over. So feckin CUTE!!
The dress looks fabulous, great job! It has the same vibes as my wedding outfit. I used old bedsheets, 3 different sets of curtains, thrifted fabric remnants (for the transparent puffy sleeves)... The only new parts were some gold appliques and the boning in the bodice and giant crinoline skirt. 😅

@@ladyanniebelle Thank you! I got very lucky with a couple of the curtains, and they helped shape the final dress. One set was a beautiful green and gold jacquard and that became the overskirt. And a set of green floral lace curtains got turned into a cape that I wore instead of a veil. 😄

Thank you🥰 I did watch My Lady Jane and the costumes were really fun. Similar to Bridgerton where they were inspired by the Tudor era but still pretty anachronistic. And I did just buy (literally earlier this week) a reference book specifically for Tudor dress...It's something I would like to do one day but I find the era very intimidating

SINGER 9960 Sewing & Quilting Machine, looks like amazon has it for $480. I got it 4 years ago and it still works great

Omg the whole vibe of finding instructions to be confusing and difficult and then technically doing it more difficult for yourself but at least that difficult method makes sense. So relatable! <3 And such an adorable garment!!! The contrast topstitching and lining was a great choice!

If we were friends you would make me crazy. I'm the 'make a million lists and pack a week ahead' type person. I strictly follow the gov't advice to get to the airport AT LEAST 2 hours ahead for domestic flights, 3 hours for overseas. I also am one of those people who get stressed if I have a layover of less that 3 hours. (and I totally had a breakdown when the second leg of a flight, from the US west coast to London, was cancelled mid-first flight. total panic and tears)
😆 There's almost nothing I can't buy if I forget it. So as long as I have my medications I'm good to go. Also my significant other is the planner/worrier so someone has to be the carefree one🤷♀️

I mix period and vintage clothes with contemporary. In my middle age, I do Goth/Punk still. Most of my clothes are black, even for office professional. I wore skinny jeans with a poet shirt, Edwardian velvet jacket and granny boots today. Life is too short to not have fun with clothes. The thing is to take risks. Sometimes it pays off and sometimes not. Often when the risk doesn't work out, you will figure out how to do it better.

The Dinner Party Fit OMG 5/5 Studio Ghibli Cafe 4.9/5 cause like- I can totally see what you mean with the shorts. I feel like even some black boots w no tights would pull it all together!!
