    I don't think the virus pushes at all....lol To push means it has some energy but that is not it You would have to learn about clathrins and stop saying push. It is almost like a lock and key system with the virus and if the receptors on the host match with the those on the viral particles, the cell takes the virion in via endocytosis(rme).

    Hi! Around 9:00 into this video, why won’t H2O do nucleophilic attack into the imine on the right (where N has positive charge with 4 bonds total)? Why does O in OH group have to form double bond with the carbon and kick out C-N pi bond to the nitrogen for H2O to then attack the carbonyl Carbon? Is it because C=O+ makes electrophilic carbon more electrophilic than C=N+?? Thank you!

    Just to check if I got that right haha Basically, in here, the (-) side of the cell is giving electrons to the +ions by the cathode, and the (+) side is receiving electrons from the -ions by the anode. The cathode is reducing ions, and the anode oxidizing them. In the galvanic cell, the cathode is still reducing, but it's reducing what exactly, the anode? So, the metal in the cathode goes to the ion form, getting itself oxidized while reducing the anode, which is oxidizing the cathode while reducing the +ions in the other solution? I am a bit lost in this one Is everything right?

    are we supposed to convert g to kg? or can we use g in this case?

  • @Leah4sciMCAT
    @Leah4sciMCAT12 күн бұрын

    If you're working through calculations, you have to make sure units are consistent. If you're dealing with two different units for weight you have to convert one to the other

    Why is the carbonyl and H in the wrong place at 10:30? Why are you swapping?

  • @Leah4sciMCAT
    @Leah4sciMCAT17 күн бұрын

    Correct form for a Fischer projection is to have the main carbon chain along the vertical backbone of the structure. That means, by convention, the carbonyl carbon should be on the vertical line and not the horizontal. One swap of the carbonyl and hydrogen changes this to follow convention, but then we have to do the second swap to maintain the R configuration of alanine.

    2:58 how to decide, which carbon to rotate?

  • @Leah4sciMCAT
    @Leah4sciMCAT17 күн бұрын

    When we talk about rotation, we're talking about rotating a carbon to carbon BOND. You could think of it as making the substituents on both carbons face in the same direction. So it's really a matter of perspective. Do you want to draw your Fischer projection by looking at the molecule from below? Then, rotate so that the substituents on both carbons are facing down. Or, do you want to draw your Fischer by looking at the molecule from above? Then, rotate so that the substituents on both carbons are facing up.

    How does 1.7x10 round to 1 instead of 2? And how does 8.3x10 round to 1x10? Really wish she explained that a bit more. I was lost at that point.

  • @Leah4sciMCAT
    @Leah4sciMCAT29 күн бұрын

    Since it was a multiple choice question, we were trying to round our answers to easier numbers like 1 or 10 in order to figure out which answer choice was closest to our estimate of 1 x 10^-5. In the end, we figured that 1.7x10^-5 rounds DOWN to 1 x 10^-5 while 8.3x10^-6 rounds UP to 1 x 10^-5. Which answer did we choose? Well, since our estimated value was calculated by rounding UP, we knew that our actual answer should be lower than what we estimated. Making our answer D.
